Im feeling all sorts of emotions tbh. I understand Luiz will blow hot and cold, is error prone, and not the consistent 7/10 performer we need. But on the other hand, he's a huge personality, which this team lacks. Will still put in great performances at times, chip in with a few goals, can play as a CDM and free up Kante as a B2B destroyer, and is a ball playing CB. 

Must be said, a CB pairing of Zouma and Luiz would be a straight disaster in my opinion, as both have severe lapses in concentration, and rely on their pace to bail them out of trouble. But Luiz and JT/Cahill duo with Kante protecting them may get the job done, in regards to finishing top 4. 

Like I said, really don't know how to feel. Just happy the club signed a CB and LB. I know they both weren't the club's first choices, but we simply couldn't have survived the season with that current back 4, we couldn't. 

Oh I love it, man! I take the occasional brainfart considering everything else he brings. His distribution from the back, his ball-keeping ability as well as his dribbling ability are something none of our CBs possess, and not just them - as far as those attributes go he's in the 95 percentile among CBs in general. Plus, Kante and Matic in front of Luiz should be more than enough cover when he decides to bring the ball up. People may have forgotten but the last time Luiz was around we had Lampard, Ramires, and Mikel playing in midfield which is a couple of levels below our current options (defensively and offensively, mind you). As I said MY BODY IS READY. MAKE THIS HAPPEN!

Waste of a transfer window? Batshuayi and Kante have been two of the biggest impacts on the team this season. Just because we didn't get everyone we wanted doesn't mean it's a waste of a transfer window. It takes two clubs to make a deal.

I couldn't care less that Luiz celebrated. I don't care how much I cared about Chelsea, I'd be celebrating taking my club through to the next round of the Champions League.

Actually if he can gain some consistency and discipline under Conte, Luiz can be one of the TOP ball playing CB. I also hated him when he celebrated that goal but well, if I can embrace the former "cunts" like Ashley Cole and Cesc, I will definitely be ok with this geezer. Lol

I am more sceptical regarding the signing of Marcos Alonso. He seems like another average player.

And your parallel doesnt stand. Need for GF in real life can wait if you dont find the right one at time, but our need for CB is. We need one today. I will wait with my expectations about Luiz, but like Juan said, he is best option we can get right now. I would prefer Koulibaly, Bonucci, Laporte, Varane, but if no one is available, there is nothing we can do. And going without new CB in this season would be bad for us. Luiz is not world class, but considering our target is PL (and that is a stretch), I dont mind having him here. His passion is unreal.

Still have reservations of him at CB but he's an absolute beast when deployed in midfield. But I doubt Conte would buy him just for that.
