Ashley Cole won us the CL with that goal line clearance against Napoli .

Torres won us the CL by assisting Kalou against Benfica away, and Barca ofcourse and creating the corner against Bayern.

Cech won us the CL by saving Robben penalty, and every save through the year.

Ramires won us the CL by scoring that stunning goal vs Barca and assisting Drogba vs barca.

Lampard won us the CL by assisting 2 goal out of 3 vs Barca

Mata won us the CL through a great cross to drogba

Drogba won us the CL by scoring that goal.

Di Matteo won us the CL by sitting behind closed doors and analysing our best approach and training all these players to do a job.

If your statement is taken seriously, then

Robben won us the CL by missing that Pen

Messi won us the CL by missing his Pen

It is a culmination of everything.

Have you read this article? it shows that di matteo not only took care of our on field tactics but also made sure everyone was emotionally ready for the final. i think it was a really amazing touch by him, that reminded players there is a lot more to love in life, and not to go on the pitch with memories of the past and pressure and nervousness that could have been disastrous for us.

Thats great management.

 .....

What needs to be done is for the club to ask him to put forward his vision and proposal for the future and how will he do it.

He knows how to steady a ship and keep players interested and motivated, as long as he has the correct ideas and plan for the future, he should get the job.

:readthemessage: SIGN HIM UP. He is already a legend, he is blue at heart, and will give his all for 'his' club.

And Yes, while everyone has their opinion, your view was quite subtractive, rather than analytical.

Okay, so if Sturridge or Torres has played instead of Drogba, the same result would have happened?

Dont be hypothetical. We would have played a different game altogether, and any amount of results could have happened.

The fact is that Di Matteo chose Drogba, and the formation, and Bertrand as well as everyone else.

I can imagine if we lost, you would have said Bertrand lost us the game and Robbie was wrong to chose him. The fact is that he had to make bold decisions over this CL campaign and he came out with flying colours.

You know what this is ? This is called divide and conquer tactics. What you do is you pit two people up against each other who are on the same side so you can cause a problem and weaken the opposition. This is a tactic used all over the world in different situations and its been very successful in the past. The idiot who produced this drivel knows full well that it was a team effort but he's just trying to be tactical and KEZ I'm embarrassed that you would fall for it. What everyone on this forum has to understand is we have a lot of haters and a lot of people just want to see us fail. The Champions League victory was a huge kick in the teeth for them A HUGE KICK IN THE TEETH. Their arguments are quickly evaporating, first it was you have only won the league once then when we did that 3 times in 6 years it was you have no European history, this is the period were all those pathetic idiots are trying to figure another argument. TWATS !!!!!!!!!

Win together, go down together. Football as we love it and as we hate it.

Every player that ever played for us in this years CL campaign deserves his medal and his share of the fame. They all did a fantastic job.

No use to single out Drobga as we all know how important his influence is/was. He was amazing, but he wouldn´t be there without the team around him.

Di Matteo was just as integral as DD11 or Lamps or Cech; infact, without the galvanising effect and the common sense of Di Matteo we would be absoloutly devastating.

In short, no need to over-dramatise stuff.

That's awful, fuck sake. Drogba won it because Di Matteo got him playing like he should be. Di Matteo won us the UCL, if we still had Villas-Boas, we'd of got eliminated against Napoli.

What a bad piece of writing, what a bad topic. I'll save myself from mirroring everybody above (tbf I read only the first and last page as I knew what was coming), but I'll just say that sometimes it feels like Drogba is being over credited. He didn't win it alone.
