Bosnian Blue 2,471
It's all about us. If we can find our momentum and get some nice wins then I'd say we could even fight for 3rd.
Badboy 1,526
We can do it but i don't think we will do it in the end. I think Arsenal have that impetus to go on and clinch it, they have more creativity in their ranks and they have a prime Robin Van Persie who can't stop scoring. We don't have a striker to get us consistent goals and I just think that is where we will probably just miss out. I know this might sound a bit horrible but I blame this on TORRES ! Alan shearer was highlighting his lack of desire to get in the box last night on match of the day and he's hiding now. Look at Lampard's movement for the Mata cross it was brilliant and Torres was outside the box, he didn't even make the run he just stood there like an idiot. We have basically played the whole season without a striker, we need someone to stand in that 6 yard box, Drogba can do it but he's near the end now. That's why i would play Lukaku and give him valuable first team experience instead of wasting time on 2 striker that WILL NOT BE HERE NEXT SEASON ! eldo 868
Ffp is a farce. They have created a big gap between those clubs that play cl and those that dont. Most of fans here would rather see us finish 4th amd potless than 5th with FA cup. Kezza 1,965
Lol all this talk about Liverpool..am I the only one worried about Newcastle? They're only a win behind us. They can pull shit out of the bag.
Santiago. 1,500
No we won't imo, if we continue with the 4 3 3 with no natural wingers and no creative midfielders, we will fail
Blue-in-me-Veins 4,067
Ehh no not really, only and ONLY IF we win next week convincingly and spuds lose. Spuds always lose to Manu so we need to win badly tu cut gap to 4 points. Spurs have never been in a position like this and it surely is Gina show at SOME POINT! also on bleacher report read great article in how lamps and essien NEED TO PLAY TOGETHER! yesterday was first time ALL FREAKIN YEAR that they played together. (I know essiens injury). But them two along with romeu should be stable mid field that CAN go on and win games vs cream of crop and low of lows. May not be available everygame but atleat at some matches. We can get it guys show some fukin FAITH!!I know i am I'm sure I am I'm CHELSEA TILL I DIE!! capriccioso 2,545
If you watched MOTD last night you would have seen Alan Hansen analyze Essien's role in yesterday's game! I know it was against a struggling Bolton side but aren't we struggling at the moment too? Anyways he was immense and i think if we play him there in that Makalele role for the rest of the season then we have a better chance of finishing 4th than not! I still think we should try Kalou on the right and Danny as out striker too, would it hurt to just try that for one match!?Essien looked back to near his full ability, IMO.I still think we can get 4th. Our only real contenders are inconsistent Arsenal and Liverpool and the untested Newcastle. And I do agree with Blue-in-me-Veins, its times like this we have to have faith and back the team. Not to boo them off at half time or leave early.
NattyBlue 44
We can and should really. Regardless of how bad a team we are, I say we're still better than Arse and Liverpiss.Arsenal aren't consistent at all, they can win their cup final league games 5 - 3 and 5 - 2 but will fail in their easy games vs Wigan etc. RVP will flop soon, BELIEVE! lolAs for Liverpool...I don't even need to say anything.I think we can get 4th, we're only behind on Goal Difference
Justin_3d 1,140
Looking at Spurs game yesterday I have a feeling that they hit their peek.Spurs can easily start beginning a major decline that leads them outside of top 4.
BlueLion. 21,491
Think we're going to finish third to be honest. Look at Spurs - their season has imploded. Since Redknapp's been linked seriously with the England job they've lost to City and Arsenal, and drawn with Stevenage in the FA Cup. The players are so obviously - and quite rightly - distracted by the future of the manager, and looking at the run of fixtures they now have, I wouldn't be surprised if we overtook them. Put it this way, we've been so shockingly awful and they've been apparently brilliant - but by the time we come to play them we'll probably end up only a couple of points behind. When the time comes that we string wings together, Spurs will be stunned in the wake of a Chelsea surge to automatic UCL Football.
BleedsBlue 1,549
We can finish 3rd this season.Spurs will have some very difficult games in the future,so there is a possibilty. As for Arsenal,I don't see them being a threat. They will get thrashed again by Milan and the whole cycle will repeat itself. Tomo 21,751
The Emirates game depends on the approach and what lineup we actually put out. Ivanovic, Luiz, Terry and Cole back four with Romeu and Essien holding we will piss on them in the counter attack but anything similar to the team we played against them at Stamford Bridge it could turn pretty nasty.City of Manchester if we can dig deep we can get a point, infact this match will be the first for a long long time i will genuinely delighted with a point, i would settle for points away at most big games but i wouldn't celebrate like we won but City's home record and the way we are playing means i would probably this time.Anfield i can't see us getting anything out of, Queen Jenny just seems to have us sussed and Liverpool always treat our games like cup final's. When the time comes that we string wings together, Spurs will be stunned in the wake of a Chelsea surge to automatic UCL Football.I love your optimism but way too many players in this Chelsea side know FOR A FACT that they are not going to be at the club next season and that is terrible. Players like Malouda, Raul, Bosingwa, Kalou, Lampard, Drogba, Mikel, Ferreira and Hilario are all going to be either shown the door or if they don't want to leave they'll will be warming the bench. Lampard is deluded, he thinks that he deserves to be in the side on merit when in reality he does not and he's causing problems. I really thought he was better then that, Lampard never used to hang his dirty washing out for everyone to see. Drogba is in his final stages and he's only getting into the side because Torres is stale milk at the grand old age of 27 years of age. Malouda will probably make the French side for Euro 2012 and after that he'll be going to Brazil to finish his career like he has been saying for a while now. Badboy 1,526
Can anybody give me a good reason why these players would want to get us into a competition that the vast majority of them will not be playing in next season ? When we did it in 03-04 (just before Roman arrived) we had a bunch of hungry talented players who wanted to do it because the club had hardly played in the Championsleague, this is a different kettle of fish, most of these players who will be leaving at the end of the season are old run down players with medals in the cupboard. The only players who know they will be here next season and if they play well they will be in the starting 11 are Mata, Ramires, Sturridge........... even the likes of A.cole and Cech will probably face fierce competition next season. A.cole will be up against 2 young hungry left backs in Ryan and Pat who will look to show the manager that they are better then him. Cech could face the dilemma Carlo Cudicini had back in 04 were a young hungry Goalkeeper is trying to take his place !
laura90 556
I haven't see us in the top four since the begining of the season. If we finish there I will be pleasantly suprised. It's not a question of faith , for me it's just hard to believe that all those bad decisions won't come and bite us in the end. Of course balance of the squad and it's structure play big part in it.Although I would love to be optimistic like most of the fans here.Anyway, in some strange way I'm convinced that Liverpool will finish above us one way or another. So in my opinion we will play in CL only if Liverpool finish third. I know it's silly but that's the feeling I have had for quite some time and I don't like it.Badboy maybe they will try harder towards the end to get themselves better contracts next season, if they indeed go?
