CHOULO19 24,332
I didn't watch him tonight, but from the last few matches he has played, for me, he has completely justified the hype around him. I'm usually not very optimistic about talents from our youth academy, but I honestly think he and Feruez might just make it through!

Madmax 9,219
EXCLUSIVE: Chelsea youth star Lucas Piazon talks to SambafootBy Christopher Atkins 2012-05-13 11:05:00Share on twitterShare on stumbleuponShare on redditShare on emailShare on facebookMore Sharing Services0SambafootChelsea Young Player of the year and FA Youth Cup winner Lucas Piazon spoke to Sambafoot on his time at Stamford Bridge so far:•Brazilian named Chelsea Young Player of the Year•Lucas Piazon renews Chelsea deal•Sambafoot meets Lucas Piazon [2011]On first year in London:For me, I think that this first-year at Chelsea has been very good for me and my career. I have learned many good things as a player and I hope that next season can be as happy as this one. In the Premier League, Chelsea didn't have a good season. But, we are in the final of the Champions League and we won the FA Cup, so I think the club is very happy with the players who are playing in the first-team. Tomorrow, they will give me a chance to be on the bench and probably make my debut so, I am very at the club and I have no regrets about coming here. I will see what happens next season. On Chelsea Young Player of the year award:I knew before it was announced. When I arrived that day they told me, so when I received the award I already knew. But, when they told me I was very happy. I didn't expect it. I didn't know about this prize. I was very happy because I have only been at Chelsea seven months and I received a prize like this. It is really important for me at the club and for my career. On possible first-team debut:I didn't expect it. I thought my first year at Chelsea would be just getting used to English football, to the way they play here. For me, it is a very nice surprise and if they give me the opportunity to play fifteen minutes, or twenty minutes, it would be great for me.On 2012 Champions League final:I won't be there, I will be in Hong Kong [with the reserve side]. I think they can win the final. They beat Barcelona and they have been playing so well at the end of the season, so they have a great chance to beat Bayern Munich. But, it will be a very, very tough game. The absence of Ramires will affect the team a little. Rami is an important player, defensively and in attack. Chelsea will miss him for this game, but Chelsea has other good players. [branislav] Ivanovic also can't play and I think they are both big misses. I still think Chelsea can beat Bayern Munich. On Chelsea's FA Youth Cup win:The game against Man United [in the semi-final] was very tough. They play great football and have a great academy so we knew that would be a very tough game. We tried to play football. Both legs we played better than them and I think we deserved to win this tournament. I think there is a good generation coming through. Those few you mentioned [Lucas Piazon, Nathaniel Chalobah, Islam Feruz and Nathan Ake] are very good and there are more also. I think next season in the FA Youth Cup, Chelsea has a big, big chance to win because only me and three, or four, others can't play next season. It will be almost the same team. Chelsea will have a very, very good team and I think they will win again. On the Olympic Games:I hope so [to meet the squad]. I don't know where they will stay, or where they will play yet though. I won't be at the Olympics because the level of those players, at the moment they are better than me. I am so young and I think I can play in the next Olympics. I think they can win – Brazil always come with a good team, with many talents. I will support them a lot.Twitter Questions:What is your favourite English food? (@Dmitry_Shakhov)Long pause... Fish and Chips... laughsWhat's it been like learning a new language and culture in England? (@kendog92)When I was a child, I used to study English in Brazil, so when I came it wasn't a big problem for me. Now I can communicate with anybody without any problems. What's the difference between youth football in England and Brazil? (@sessegnon_28)Here the players all try to defend as well and not just to attack. In Brazil, the game is slower and you can think more, you can have the ball for longer. I think that is the biggest difference.Lucas' message for Sambafoot readers:First of all, support Chelsea in the final and secondly, support me in all my career! Jase 43,479
Seriously hope he is given a chance in the first team next season especially in the Carling Cup. It will be criminal if we don't do that. Would like to see the likes of Bamford, Chalobah, Feruz etc all getting a chance too.

I think it's a good sign that Di Matteo will try to implement youth as much as possible. BleedsBlue

Justin_3d 1,140
Was the most interesting prospect that was not part of the big equation for this season.Giving that he is still young, is best if he stays in England doing the U-19 thing, and the next gen series.Should not be thrown into the first team that soon during the season. And neither a loan should be considered at this point in time!
BlueLion. 21,491
Absolutely agreed. Before anyone starts over-hyping him, we did exactly the same with Josh and Kakuta. He needs another 12 months with the academy before a season on loan - preferably at first in League One, and then in the Championship during the second half of the season. CHOULO19 24,332
He should stay with the academy this year. He will benefit immensely from the next-gen competition. He can go on loan the following season.
Naked Mole Rat 437
Great goal today. He's shown some great awareness to wait for Ramires' support, then to get in the box for a return pass, and then to take a quick shot on goal before the defender could do anything. How old is he, 18? Tomo 21,751
Showing amazing potential but lets stay grounded with this lad, lets not jump on his potential too soon like we did with Kakuta and to a lesser extent McEachran, so basically no comments like "he will never make it, they don't trust him" if he doesn't play at home to Southampton" or "we have signed a midfielder, fuck it he must be sold" or "lets start him now week in week out, so we show the world we can play teenagers" because comments like that drive me up the wall as much as they are untrue. CHOULO19 24,332
Had a good match, and excellent goal, but let's try not to hype him.
Jase 43,479
Was surprised to see him scored the goal for us but nonetheless, I'm pleased for him. It was a good finish and well worked move between him and Ramires too. He will surely get more chances as the season goes.
