Punishment has been handed out , lets concentrate on football.

It seems more to do with pressure elsewhere..seems to be dammed if he doesnt by media and everyone else and dammed if he does by Chels fans and any others who have backed John Terry.Just see what happens but this needs to be put to bed now! No more stupid 'omg he's racist' articles media need to let it go a year its dragged on for and doesnt need to go on much longer

Lets get on with football. I honestly couldn't give a shit about off field issues, that is for off field people to deal with. If something is deemed to be inappropiate, action should be taken quickly and everyone should move on. People are seemingly trying to portray john terry as the only person who has used bad language on a football field. In every single game, you see at some point someone mouthing various swearwords, and thats probably only about 2% of what happens in one game.

Blame the English media, who have constantly hanged our players out dry every single time! Any non-Chelsea players who do bad things and they just sweep it under the carpet.

The annoying thing is everyone doesnt seem to be moving on and this issue seems to be popping up again and again as random people have their say.No doubt next we'll get the opoion of a complete stranger in the street who they have interviewed.

And because of John Terry's history it makes him atomtically a terrible person and we should all frown upon him..thing is I doubt anyone who has passed judgement knows what he is really like. Its hard to say 'oh he's a twat he's this and that' when you only hear the bad things he's done and nothing anything good. That seems to get swept away

And dont see what his mum/dad whoever it was doing drugs or something along those lines had to do with anything?! Same with Ashley Cole and the shooting incident.Yeah bad judgement on his part but is irrevant to what has occured..our media just ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh annoying!!

Yeah our media is terrible, always attach themselves to the side of the sorry that can help them portray things in as negative a light as possible. I mean some of this stuff is primary school. John terry was called a name, then he called him one back.... He (may or may not) have brought the element of race into it. He has been fined a serious amount of money comapred to some fines we have seen, and recieved a 4 match ban meaning he will miss 2 very key games. Punishment given. Twitter is making things worse. if it was up to me they wouldn't be allowed on there as it creates more problems and defelcts away from the football, but that is another matter.

Then the 4 match ban has raised questions causing a bigger problem dragging this on either furthur...and now with the Serbian chants no doubt be drawn back to the John Terry incident..its gana be an endless cycle...

Have a feeling that the media will not let go the matter still if reports are to be believed that Terry will remain as our club captain. Can probably expect more drama and fireworks from them.

Defintly like said on the Di Matteo/Chelsea decision he/they dammed if they dont strip him and dammed if they dont really. But one incident stupid and idoitic as it may have been shouldnt effect his ablity to lead the team as he has done in the past. Not gana suddenly loose his leadership qualities just unlikely to gain back respect he may have lost...

Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck confirms John Terry will continue to be the club's captain. Full story to follow.

Plus

1. They will not discuss the full details of the punishment.

2. Terry received a very very very heavy fine according to Gourlay.

Max fine allowed at Chelsea is 2 weeks wages. It maybe heavy to you and me, but I don;t think John minds too much.

Yes, only you and me. The footballers and everyone including the members here are super duper rich that they can afford to pay the hefty fine...

I don't get what's your point?

My point is that Gourlay is trying to make it sound like the club punished Terry severely to save the club's image. When Terry probably doesn't care so much about his punishment. I mean if you were making something like 10m per year, I don't think 300-350k would set you back too much.

The sarcasm obviously failed to work there. My point was that you were speaking the obvious. ;)
