you haven't seen Javi Martinez play much have you?

no. i dont have an informed opinion of him. don't really watch bilbao much but have seen him a couple of times.he's combative and creative but cabaye's technical ability and his performances in the premier league swing it for me.

Fair enough, I would love us to sign Cabaye im also a fan of his, but for me Martinez or Modric would be the perfect players to play that double pivot with Mikel, of course both are highly unlikely to be signed by us but Martinez has everything to play that role, very good ball winner, strong, good in the air, reads the game very well, very tidy on the ball and can pick out a pass. He is still very young and will only get better.

But Cabaye is a much more likely signing and cheaper. So if we do sign him i will be happy, but it would be nice if the club actually try and sign Modric or Martinez first then if that doesn't work out then bring in Cabaye.

As much as Pirlo is still being class and all that, do we really want another 33 year old at the club?!

In all seriousness, no. However you do feel a little mugged off that we could quite easily pay upwards of £20m for a new midfielder and they aren't even likely to be as good as Pirlo is now.

There are hardly any midfielders out there who is as good as Pirlo now anyway...

So Drogba signed for Shangai Shehua last week but now reportedly being linked with Barcelona, as he has a clause in his contract to go and speak to them over a potential transfer... what the fuck is going on.

Why does Barca want Drogba anyway...they have more than enough forwards..what they need is a CB.

Since the Giroud Thread is closed i post it here: Giroud confirms on TF1 that Chelsea was interested but he signed for Arsenal because of the stability and philosophy of the Club.

So i looks like we are in the Market for a Striker to Replace Drogba....
