What needs to be done in January

What else? The fans inside the stadium, and on the forums as well, should understand we are NOT a winning machine and should get over a bad spell of results and performances. And they should NEVER stop supporting their club, no matter what is going on on the pitch.

Good post, Wilson.

The main problem is the midfield. No wonder our strikers don't score regularly. And the thing with Torres it's difficult for him to make those runs in behind when we are struggling to get the ball into a decent area, it's not good for him to drop deep to try and make something. This season, when the ball has been given to him in a good area, he's either scored/hit the post/missed an easy chance. The chances don't come around often enough though. And for those questioning his passion; why would he talk to the ref to stick up for the team when a decision has gone against us? He obviously gives a shit.

Mata and Sturridge are good for the wings, but we need much better quality in those areas if Malouda, Anelka and Kalou are to go.

And don't give me crap about playing Sturridge through the middle. He wasn't as effective there at Blackburn.

An overhaul in January would be risky... If you let go a bunch of players you must sign a bunch of players, and I don't think you can register them for Champions League if they've represented another team already.. provided we make it through to the knock-outs of course. And prices in January are too inflated, it's not the ideal time to start revamping. A signing or two and a departure or two, yes.. an overhaul, no - that's for the summer.

Yes, but I think he would perform better with a strike partner down the centre, perhaps with Drogba (who links up with him well)..something similar to how he played off Kevin Davies at Bolton

Better say, sell the whole squad and buy Man City one...selling such a big number of players in january is not a solution. Changes as big as that are a risk even in summer.

I say, sell Anelka and Kalou and bring in Hazard/Gotze and a midfield maestro like Modric and watch the magic happen.

At the end of the season release Drogba and Torres, bring in a true on form and a young striker like Cavanni. Also, bring in Cahill and sell Alex and sort out Mikel's future. Then make decision on McEachran, Lukaku and Sturridge.

I Said it after the first post....

Indeed I do.. Typical board reaction. They need to more rational than they've ever been under Roman. They must listen to all of André's recommendations!

André recomendation is: the squad is so good that can win 4...ops, 3 competitions.

My recomendation is: fire the red bearded and bring Guus Hiddink.

I just hope that was for the sake of media/squad moral.

I hold a strong hope he knows exactly were this squad's weaknesses lie & is using thorough scouting networks to identify targets.

Look, you can possibly know what is going on within the club. Perhaps it wasn't possible to sell some players because of their wage or a sponsorship deal? Perhaps they reached an agreement about leaving at the end of this season?

You can't expect Andre to get out and say "We are not good enough and we won't try to challenge for the title. I'll try my best to keep us in the top 4"

He needed to be accepted by the players and he needed to trust them otherwise his time with us would be pretty short.

On the other hand, if he survives this season and doesn't bring quality at the Bridge then, then you were probably right.

Didier is leaving to search more money, why he used the african in last games?

Its not natural in Europe, If you cant chalenge for trophies you must say it. The squad he used today shows he is not thinking about transition, he is thinking about results.

Torres' latest performance may show you why.

And the African did alright.

And the result squad he took out lost the match. If he used a transition squad we would've been out of CC in the 1st round by Fulham...
