NiclasCFC 2,582
Mata and Sturridge has to play on the Wings so who do you guys think will start in the Striker role?Anelka or Drogba? personally i would say Drogba!
Rubber bullets 1,183
Have we ever considered starting Sturridge up front? I feel sorry for him a bit, its clear his actual position is ST. But even after Torres is not an option we automatically have to start Drogba, why not have something like this?Mata - Sturridge - AnelkaMata - Sturridge - MaloudaAt the moment he is our best striker on form at the moment. It would also mean a very quick and fluent front three that can change around a lot and confuse the defence.

He is scoring goals from a wide position so if you put him through the middle with his pace and dribbling ability it would be very dangerous. I don't think that's the case, I think it's down to the fact that we have no better options for the wing, unless we play Malouda, Kalou or Anelka there. When Drogba, Anelka and Kalou leave and we get Kakuta back and sign a winger or two, I reckon we could see Torres, Sturridge and Lukaku fighting for the CF place, while Danny can offer us versatility as he will be able to play in every position in attack. Bosnian Blue 2,471
I think Anelka will start tomorrow. Remember last time we had a game after international break players who stayed in London and trained together were the ones who started that match. bluesman2610 1,417
danny as striker is a good idea although we have traditionally like to have a forward who can hold the ball up and keep possession in the opposing third i.e. drogba even anelka...even welbeck can do so but he does add a different flair playing as the point ST..cant wait for the game tomorrow
Tomo 21,751
No team in the Premier League has conceded fewer shots on target than Chelsea (25). If we look at it this way we have been the most solid defensively off all prem teams
BlueLion. 21,491
But you can flip that and say we've conceded 8 goals from those 25 shots on target... meaning we let a goal in every 3.125 shots on goal. That doesn't make for great reading, especially when you consider teams like Norwich, West Brom and Swansea scored three goals between them from a total of six shots on goal. Madmax 9,219
Hope Anelka doesn't start. He's not quite as effective as he can be if he's not coming off the bench. At the back, Terry and Luiz seems a perfect combination but we don't know much about Luiz's fitness after having played twice in South America and making a long round trip. I'd have no hesitation putting Alex alongside Terry but if Saha plays, he has pace to burn and Alex-JT will be far too exposed.
Tomo 21,751
True but United have without doubt been cut open more than us so far, this timelast year it was the other way round with Cech saving everything but United conceding less attempts but conceding more goals and in the end it caught up with us.Hopefully we will sort out the goal concession soon but i'd be a lot more worried if sub standard teams were creating 7/8 clear cut chances a game, which seems to be happening in United's games atm. BlueLion. 21,491
Ivanovic-Terry is a must. Luiz won't be risked and will play against QPR and Everton (Legaue Cup), Alex will probably feature against Genk as per the rotation policy, so Ivan will be needed at centre-back. I expect: Cech Bosingwa - Ivan - Terry - Cole Meireles - Ramires - Lampard---------------------MataSturridge-----------------Drogba
