Jase 43,479
Mata in Michael Cox's European Team of the Season...http://www.zonalmarking.net/2013/06/12/european-team-of-the-season-201213/Juan Mata, ChelseaWhile Gareth Bale sacrificed his creative side to become a pure goalscorer (four assists but an amazing 21 goals), Mata’s performance was perfectly balanced – twelve assists, twelve goals. Mata’s positional sense is outstanding – see his drop into a deeper position to provide the pass for Demba Ba against Manchester United – he’s one of those rare creative players that appears to instinctively understand the tactical situation in a game, and position himself accordingly. He combines reliable ball retention with an amazing efficiency in the final third, orchestrating games from the midfield but popping up in the box to provide finishes too. He’s not just one of the best players in the Premier League at the moment, but possibly the best player in his position the division has ever seen. Rambo 1,729
I think we should sell him along with David Luiz. We could really do with the extra cash. Hope Jose makes the right call and offloads them.Extra cash? We're not QPR.
nadavTKL 1,787
We wont sale him right? I mean even if Jose dont want him (and i no its pure bulshit by the media in Spain, im just saying) the fans will get crazy if we sell our best player. Pizy 18,903
It's laughable that so many journalists and fans on other forums think we'd sell the best player in the Premier League and a fan favorite 2 years after buying him. Like we're a selling club like Spuds or Arse. And now people are saying Barca want him. Yeah, I'm sure Mata would love to emulate that feeling he has in the national team where he sits on the bench behind Xavi, Iniesta, and Pedro.K, Barca, you want him? £50m + Thiago. Jype 6,398
Mata already stated that the club have told him they're very pleased with him and the man himself said he wants to stay and win the PL next season with Jose. Not at all like Luiz who keeps his options open in case the club decide to cash in on him. I believe he was hoping to go to Barcelona two years ago when he eventually joined us but at the moment I just can't see it. He's one of the best players in the world and a key man at Chelsea, a team challenging for multiple trophies, but at Barcelona he probably wouldn't even get in their team when they got the likes of Messi and Neymar as well as all those (imo inferior) players who keep him out of the national team starting lineup.Barca can have Torres for whatever the price, and despite being one of my favorite players maybe I'd even sell them Luiz if they offered +50m euros but Mata? No fucking chance. blu35_army

Leif 6,006
No chance he's going to Barcelona. Like literally none. They simply cannot afford him and on top of that have other issues (defence, goalkeeper) needing attention first. I genuinely can only ever see him playing for us, Madrid if they come in one day with a mega-bid since they seem to want their ex-youth players back or possibly heading back to Valencia if his contract runs out when he's in his 30's or whatever. Jase 43,479
Barcelona eye Chelsea's Juan Mata after report of contract dispute with Jose MourinhoAlready there is a contradiction going on in the first two paragraphs...Barcelona have targeted Juan Mata for a shock summer swoop because they believe he has fallen out with Jose Mourinho.Mourinho insisted last week he has not spoken to Mata, or any of the Chelsea players on Confederations Cup duty in Brazil, since being reappointed. Hutcho 8,443
Mourinho has been in charge for about 2 weeks. Probably only seen each other once and they have fallen out have they. Really makes you laugh. I am sure barca do want him. Who wouldn't. They can offer 50 mil and i would turn it down.

Not sure if they want to fork out another huge sum on a player.
