Pizy 18,903
It'd be a crime if Juan isn't offered a new contract now. God knows he's earned it.The likes of Mikel and Luiz have been given new contracts recently so I think our best player should as well. GermanBlue 82
They must have done that interview on purpose! Fair enough as the club wants to end the rumours, too, and wants the player to be able to totally focus on his performances. ╫rue Blue

Blue Gino 377
Obviously this recent interview with Juan won't get recycled in the multiple publications the way so called "Mourinho's favorite" Oscar's interviews were. This only throws egg on the faces of those who suggested he tried a last ditch attempt to sign with PSG and Arsenal. People say this midfield is overloaded but it's perfect. No more worrying about someone running on near empty towards the end of the season when there's many fresh legs to compete on all fronts. If this isn't an ideal situation for one of them, they can go. I had my doubts during the window about Juan staying but I'm glad it never materialized. ANDRECHO 432
how can u not love this guy... amazing person, wonderful player... the whole package. He needs to help team defensively, no more , hazard and oscar, schurrle in this aspect are more than Mata .Mata: ”The boss (Mourinho) believes in me, he wants me to become a complete football player”-“It’s more important to him that I want to become a complete player, I need to show him the desire”-“He compares me to Xavi of Barcelona, who he rates very highly in the world of football. He says I have all the qualities” is so true, Mourinho will to help to Mata in that aspect , Mata has to play much better that the last year . He will need to be "the player " of Chelsea . Also it will make it clear that he is commited to the club as well as the response for many rubbish rumours out there. And Luiz too. I think both of them are really deserved it. RoyalBlues 4,050
I remember one of our new signings of last season (anyone remembers who?) saying that Juan knows every corner of London so to say. If you tell him you want to eat a pizza or something, he knows exactly where you can eat the best pizza in London and all this stuff. It seems that he's really settled by now. Also posted this recently :juanmatagarciaKing's Road. #LondonHe has some skill in photography too. I'm amazed. kellzfresh 7,229
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=IBI5biOgMKgJuan Mata has moved to end speculation over his Chelsea future by insisting he is happy at Stamford Bridge. The 25-year-old was linked with the likes of Tottenham, Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain during the transfer window but remained with the Blues despite the interest.Mata claims he never considered leaving Chelsea throughout the summer and is looking forward to winning more trophies with the Blues now the window is closed."I think it's normal in every transfer window that there are lots of rumours but I'm happy here," he toldChelsea TV."It's been a very, very good two seasons for me here, maybe the best of my career, and what I want this season is the same."I'm looking forward to achieving as many trophies as we did the last two seasons and hopefully this is going to be a good season for us again."Has it been hard for me to focus on my football with all the speculation? For me it's not, if you have things clear in your mind and have belief in yourself. My only aim is to play here, grow as a player and do as good a season as the last two which were amazing for me."These two seasons have flown by, but to me this is good because when you are enjoying things and you are happy, time goes quicker."Mata has made just one start this season under Jose Mourinho but after recovering from a thigh problem the midfielder feels he is back to full fitness and ready to reclaim his starting berth."We are doing a very good week of training and I feel really good. I'm looking forward to playing. Yes I am back to 100 per cent," added Mata."It was a difficult pre-season for me because I had an injury, I never had this before. It took me a little bit more time to get fit but now I'm feeling really good."I had four weeks off [ahead of pre-season training] and to be honest that's too much time for me because in the last five or six years I didn't have this amount of rest."For me the best thing is to play as much as I can because I love to play, I love playing at the weekend and in the middle of the week. If you are having a lot of games during the season, maybe the training is the games." Stingray

LDN Blue 7,903
The thing is, we can keep saying this is made-up media b/s and whatnot but to what extent does that go to before you come to the conclusion 'there's no smoke without fire'? Mourinho can manipulate anyone in the way he wants. Media, players, fans. He's extremely good at it, but he's also been always known to be blunt and straight forward about some issues. The fact is, yes he's made statements about Mata being important to the team.. But he hasn't really shown it, has he? Yea, we can keep using this whole defense about how tired Mata is but I mean he was an unused sub against Bayern Munich in the Supercup Final & Manchester United. If it was to be believed that he's only being left out because of this supposed fatigue then you get why he missed the Villa and Hull games and most of pre-season. But if he's missing out on the big games NOW, when Mourinho is supposedly molding his team that is a big signal about what's to come. Peace.
Kojo 4,676
Mata is a professional, not one controversial bone in his body. When Yaya Toure slapped him and kicked him he just got up and got on with it, he ignored Toure, he didn't go to the papers he didn't say anything about him that was that.
