Romelu Lukaku

The ONLY thing that matters realy is how will our next striker linkup with teammates, because at the end of the day, we will need to score goals that way. There wont be much space.

Be it Lukaku or someone else, if he isnt quality enough on technical and link up level, wont matter if he scores 40 goals per season, we wont win shit against top sides.

And regarding Lukaku, he will need to put it few gears up if he is about to play under Conte, no one will accept his low workrate during games.

I think Conte will work wonders with this lad lukaku gives us a greater Ariel threat as well which helps up because most teams new last season most of the time we wasn't going to cross we would try cut inside next season that all changes. Yes Diego could score with his head blah blah blah before some one points out a afew goals, am just saying lukaku is more of a threat

Lukaku scored more goals because the entire Everton team was sending all the balls to him. Heck the entire team was build around him. No chance Chelsea will build the team around Lukaku. If he gets to 20 in all competitions we should consider ourselves lucky.

What your saying he scored more goals because people passed to the striker to score goals???? strikers are there to put the ball in the net costa had balls left right n centre he just missed half the time or went for a dive. What makes u think lukaku won't score for fun in this team? People will pass to him here U know haha.

All Lukaku's teammates were passing the ball to him, literally no one took the risk to shoot, instead feeding Lukaku with the balls. They are one dimensional as fuck no wonder Everton finished 7th. If we start feeding all the balls to Lukaku at Chelsea he will likely reach 30 goals but you can bet your house we won't be winning anything, reason why we won the title is because we we're firing from all cylinders Pedro and also Hazard took more risks to try and shoot instead of passing to Costa.

It's harder to be a loan striker in a team with very little creative outlet for said striker. Like others have said, Costa had better quality players around him to provide him the better opportunities. At Everton, teams can mark Lukaku and Everton lose a lot of their attacking threat, whereas if you mark Costa out the game, you have to contend with either side of him and the wing backs so it's more difficult in that sense for teams to solely mark Costa which gives him more freedom up top to make runs into open spaces.

I agree with some of what u said but u said no wonder they finished 7th really??? Just below man utd arsenal Liverpool man city Tottenham and chelsea where did u expect them to finish? Sorry if I sound rude but come on dude 7th for Everton is pretty much as good as it gets. So In theory what your saying is lukaku got them 7th place which is a good thing haha

finally people can see that its not costas goals that won us the title. I hate it when people say that as if there were no games where costa never scored in or scored the winning goal. If we had depended on only costa we would be no where not even the 10th we had last 2 seasons.

f you have wingers and fullbacks that cross alot, you can go with target man upfront.

If you have wingers that cut inside, its crucial to have striker with good linkup.

Costa wasnt ideal for either, but when on form, he was on another level, very allround and inventive striker.

People talk alot how many goals Lukaku scores etc etc. Its the whole performance that matters.

He doesnt have best players around Everton, so its difficult to judge how will he do next to Eden, Pedro, but two things are clear; he has little experience what means team work with top players, because he was always key man in everton. And he never shown any impressive link up for belgium either that would suggest he has serious potential in that department.

Football doesnt work the way that Eden and others will make things happen, be super productive for Lukaku who will only need to get in good position and fill the nets.

Link up. Get out of tight areas, make one twos with Eden, Pedro, Cesc,...Lukaku is very average here, regardless of improvement. Considering he was realy realy poor back then, saying he improved doesnt mean much. Compared to top strikers, he is still very much limited.

Lukaku is quality individual, but I cant see it how will he improve us in terms of team performance as whole and flow of the ball, defensive work etc.

He improved first touch and finish, off the ball movement, but the things mentioned above, there is much to be desired. He will need to seriously step up here and hopefuly he can.

He's no worse than Costa at any of this and we've done fine with Costa.

He is definately not as good as pre january Costa.

IMO everybody has this picture of shit form Costa and saying Lukaku will be massive improvement. Well yes indeed he will be, Costa has been poor.

But thats not how it works. We won the title in that run with Costa in unbelievable form and no, Lukaku is not better than Costa was then. In matter of fact, no available striker is.

We need to find replacement that is as good as inform Costa, not "better than out of form Costa".

He strikes me as someone who offers little in terms of character and when he isnt scoring, he is basicaly invisible.

He is somewhat similar in style to Diego, with later even better finisher inside pen area and more decisive in key moments. But he is quite older too.

Lukaku has definately the potential to be unbelievably good. But he needs to find that fire, character to lead, to be difference maker. Same could be said for Pogba. Lukaku is young and who knows how will he play at 28. Maybe he will be next Drogba or next Defoe.

If we do sell Costa (hopefuly not), Lukaku would be good option. Lacazette, Belotti, Auba, Dembele etc neither is proven scorer like Costa was, so anyone will be a gamble.

Note this was from March 15th...

If not Lukaku who should we sign ?

Mbappe ?? Not happening.

Morata ?? is he better than lukaku ?  Haven't watch much of his game. He didn't play a lot in real.

Not sure who else
