termninja 5,290
He did alright. There is still of course a lot to improve on, but we have to take into a consideration his years, being played out of position and that we played against Liverpool.I hope to see him go out on loan in january. Kieran. 6,317
He's UNABLE to leave on loan, as he was registered with Anderlecht this season and now also Chelsea. Unless you want to send him back there.

Rubber bullets 1,183
If he really is worth £18 million, then why are we panicing on selling Drogba in Jan. He should be able to prove why he is worth the money. wannt him to succeed becuase like Torres, we paid a fuck load of money and its no good himm being baught just becuase he reminds people about Drogba abit. Popular Post! Tomo 21,751 Posted November 30, 2011 Popular Post! Share Posted November 30, 2011 FFS why are we writing this lad off after 6 fucking games (3 of which against Liverpool, Arsenal and United) at 18 years old?Sturridge was just like this for City at 18, never really made that many appearances and never really convinced when he did and now look at him. You don't get targeted by numerous top clubs if you are a rubbish player and he has shown some glimpses of his talent (at Goodison Park he was absolutely fantastic). If he is still in this situation in 4 years then panic but come on lets not press the "£18m wasted" button just yet. Popular Post! Nic! 301 Posted November 30, 2011 Popular Post! Share Posted November 30, 2011 I'll just echo what I said in another topic:I really get why so many fans are upset with Lukaku. But get some perspective, please. I know I'm biased. I'm Belgian, Anderlecht fan and Lukaku fan. But that doesn't mean I can't be objective about him.Lukaku IS better than what you've seen from him so far. I think his performance against Norwich was closest to how I rate him currently. His other performances weren't good, but in every game Lukaku played he was not worse than any other striker on the field.Agreed, his first touch is not good. It will improve, but it will remain his weakest point. The thing is, how he's played at the moment just highlights this lack of skill. Lukaku shouldn't be played with his back to the goal. He needs to be played in space, with through passes. Because his combination of pace and strength while running is something you almost never see. How raw in his skills he might be, if he's played right (4-3-3, with him in the point with two REAL wingers next to him) he will score goals.Lukaku is deadly on the counter-attack. Just watch some goals of him on YouTube. Or his goal against Russia with Belgium: http://www.youtube.c...bpsjLoEA#t=339sAnd by the way: you haven't paid 18 million pound for him yet. Chelsea paid 13 million, but it could get to 18 depending on how much goals/appearances he makes. It's a performance-based clause. Kostas 1,468
Looked absolutely terrible last night. Can't know if he's rusty or nervous but he's a got much improving to do. Using his body to his advantage is the least I expect of him. Henrique
CHOULO19 24,332
I think the problem is he was thrown too fast in first team football when he was not ready. I think he needs to play some time with the reserves before he can play for the first team even in the carling cup.
termninja 5,290
Just give the lad some time. He is 18! Until yesterday he was watching people he works with now on TV and dreaming about being what he is now. He loves our club and I can guarantee you that he trains like crazy to succeed here and you know what they say, talent is 10% and hard work is 90% in football. He has both.Anderlect could've simply refused the lesser bid and other clubs would come calling for him and I doubt he would risk turning them down and waiting for us. 18m? I really doubt Roman cares is it 10 or 18...
BlueLion. 21,491
I don't buy the 'thrown in at the deep-end' cliché. He's playing football, not trying to learn a Jimi Hendrix solo as a beginner. Henrique, LDN Blue, Badboy and 1 other
francozola 2,040
It's disappointing that he can't go out on loan. He needs some regular first-team action - even if it is in the championship because reserve team football is useless.

Nic! 301
5 goals in 3 reserves appearances. Maybe give Lukaku another shot when Kalou & Drogba are away for the Africa Cup.
Jusek 2,031
Scored in friendly match against Ipswich Town. The game ended 2-2. Josh played 90 minutes and assisted Romelu's goal:McEachran had the vision and delivery to play a ball from his own half over 40 yards into the path of Lukaku's run. The big striker controlled it and then slotted home. http://www.chelseafc.com/page/LatestNews/0,,10268~2545574,00.html
