True_Blue 469
After watching the game I would be devastated if Lukaku got sent on a loan. Id rather that we dont sign a CF and go with Torres/Sturridge/Lukaku. In my opinion anything else is a waste of both talent, potential and money. You said it all really
Muzchap 8,966
And by that time, we will have another striker who will probably have really settled in and Lukaku wont get any playtime. Not if we get a 1 season wonder - ageing CF with 1 or 2 campaigns left...I'm keeping everything crossed though that Lukaku impresses again in the next game

OneMoSalah 8,886
Lukaku should stay here and fight Studge for backup striker! Plus he gives us something Torres and Studge don't, a bit of strength up top.

OneMoSalah 8,886
I was very impressed ,,thought him much improved. Like you think he should stay and be given playing timeExactly, he looked much sharper and stronger on the ball than in the Carling cup games. The body reconditioning thing must of been true because in the Blackburn game he was well slimmed down compared to before against Fulham, Everton. Liverpool etc. He will give Studge a good run for his money to be second striker as well especially if he keeps scoring in pre-season! Popular Post! termninja 5,290 Posted July 19, 2012 Popular Post! Share Posted July 19, 2012 I really really hope he keeps banging them through preseason. He has done really well in today's game and I'm bloody happy for it. If he keeps doing well, he may convince the club to stick up with Danny, FT and him for the upcoming season. We can make him out to be legend at CFC. He has the true love for the club and wants to give it all. His dream is probably to spend his career here and offer everything he has to the fans. And guess what? He has the tools to do it. His mentality is top notch and even mediocre footballers can archive a lot with the right mentality.Let's not overrate him though like we know to do, this was only a 1st preseason game. Let's keep it together and follow his progress. So far so good Blue Armour, CHOULO19, Stats and 5 others
Bir_CFC 3,455
I think the change in our attacking philosophy will help Lukaku a lot. People say he's the next Drogba, he's big striker like Drogba, but he thrives on delivery like a Torres would. If we are building around Torres, Lukaku wants the same service. sleazyB
Rambo 1,729
People need to quit the "next drogba" BS...he will never live up to those expectations as DD will be impossible to replace. Let Lukaku grow on his own.
Popular Post! JDY 1,290 Posted July 20, 2012 Popular Post! Share Posted July 20, 2012 Keeping him would be a terrible decision. At his age he needs to be playing regularly at a decent enough level. There's only so much he can learn training with the Chelsea first team and getting the odd game here and there.Look at Sturridge a few years ago, was hardly getting a look in. A few cameo displays in the cups and a ton of reserve games. At Bolton he was by far their best player and came back to Chelsea in great form. Only when AVB left he started to fade. Look at Wilshere at Bolton, it catapulted him straight into the Arsenal first team. Danny Welbeck enjoyed a good loan spell at Sunderland, look at him now. There's probably many more examples.Last season for Lukaku was a year for him to settle in the club and get used to his surroundings. This season he must go on loan and play regularly. I would say he needs 2 loan moves before he can really be challenging for a first team spot at Chelsea. royg 96
I hope he shines on our next game against PSG, with the CB qualities PSG have he will surely get good challenges.

Maybe even a Championship club.

BlueLion. 21,491
Lulu is going to be brimming with confidence; his first goals for the first team. If that doesn't give him the strength necessary to impose himself on RDM I'll be surprised.
