Thibaut Courtois

Actually, there's a lot to think about. You have to weigh up the money you'd get for either against the amount of seasons you'd get from them, plus also the chance of getting another keeper of his calibre. Cech was a once in a generation signing for this club, and it looks like we might have done it again with Courtois.

Which makes your constant jibes about his signing even more ridiculous. In the worst case scenario, we've at least tripled our money when we sell him. At least.

Best case scenario, we've found a replacement for a key player who can be a feature for at least a decade.

:wank2:

What makes your posting laughable is that you still have not realized Roman does not need money.

Chelsea needs players to play, now. What will happen with Courtois, who knows ?

Roman might not, but the club has to account for it's finances in a post-FFP world. :wank2:

Signing Courtois has not affected our ability to sign any other players. He hasn't cost us a penny in wages and his transfer fee was relatively low over 5 years. :wank2:

£10 million is fucking derisory. Should be asking £30 million minimum if we are entertaining bids, especially when you consider how much de Gea cost United. I genuinely believe that in 10 years time we'll be speaking of Thibaut Courtois as being as good as Petr Cech ever was.

Roman is the club!

As for FFP do not worry here. He has plenty of bodies in Russia to send sponsorship money.

Signing of the kid was a great deal. However, signing of Cech for 4 more years...? Meanwhile, the kid just might leave. That´s what I am not happy about.

10 million is a joke, considering he is now hands down the best U21 goalkeeper in the world and he was only an unproven 19-year-old when we bought him for 6mil a couple of years ago.

On the last page I was joking about Barca giving Messi in exchange for this guy, but seriously speaking though, we are in a very good position for the negotiations if they indeed do want him. They have some of the best players in the world already and we would be stupid if we just gave them one of our most promising young players who they desperately need for peanuts. Courtois is under contract till 2016 so it will definitely take either an offer out of this world or them giving us one of their hottest prospects in part exchange, Thiago for example.

I would very much like to keep him if only the player himself wants to stay and is okay with the plan we have for him. No reasonable amount of money can get us a goalkeeper as good as Courtois when we need to replace Cech in a few years.

There are two kinds of people in the world. Followers & the others are leaders. What category are you in ?

The category which doesn't believe there are just two types of people in the world.

And you're not doing a very good job of 'leading' if that's your aim. You've not made a single convincing point because you don't seem to know much about football, and even less about Chelsea Football Club.

Roman is the current owner ,,,, To call him the CLUB is repulsive and an insult to our past

As I already told you the other day. An old guard like you is being replaced by young & impetuous folks. Just step aside.

After all, you are not able to see things clearly, anymore.

30 mil should be a price we must consider but in the long run Thibaut is our answer for replacing Cech in the future. I'd see him loaned out for another year, maximum 2 - otherwise he himself will get a bit deluded, can be wrong about this though. Then he could be on our sub bench for one season MAX with some appearances to get used to the team. Just my view on this..but definitely we should keep hold of him whatever it takes.

He is still very young but achieved so much, experienced different leagues at top level, top clubs' atmosphere and adapted a winning mentality with actually winning trophies. Top top lad

Now you're just talking utter bollocks without the pretence of being a Chelsea supporter. :wank2:

thing is you cant bench such a player even if its only for 1 season, having 2 top gk's can be a pain, isnt it? ;)

That´s the bottom line here. Courtois is not prepared to sit around at Chelsea. The loan to Spain makes sense. However, if Barca comes calling, then what ?

Then we have a tough decision to make that is nowhere as simple as you've suggested.

Either way, we're going to be better off be it financially or by having a young player who could serve this club for some time. It's why your constant jibes about the decision to buy him are ridiculous.

Courtois is not only the best young but one of the top 10 GKs worldwide. I think we can bring him here next season. We'll have at least about 60 games, so I think he will get enough matches. We all know Cech has his bad games usually in gamea against smalller teams which is where courtois can shine, so we keep both fresh. Cech also cam in when Cudicini was number one and his succession lasted about 2 years. Petr might still be young for a goalie with 30. But he is rather injury prone for a goalie and has hinted more than once, that his career will be not as long as one expects and chelsea have signed a replacement that early for a reason.

10M is not enough but it's not as ridiculous as people are saying. Keepers are just cheaper to buy. Lloris who has been the top keeper in France for years and was still only 25 at time of purchase was 10-15M Euros (depending on performance). Our initial signing of Courtois for 7.8M was one of the highest transfers ever for a keeper. Neuer was already a world-class keeper and went for 19M pounds two years ago. This is why I don't particularly worry about keepers. There are more top keepers than there are top clubs (Julio Cesar is at QPR!!) so they are easier and cheaper to get than any other position. However, I wouldn't be inclined to sell Courtois unless the bid got up to around 20M.
