  1. What a difference a few days makes on these boards Zouma from shit to hero in a heartbeat Think the lesson from this match is 'don't judge too quickly' Impressed with Cesc and Costa - add in the other players yet to come back and we have a great squad - also MvG feels like anew signing I don't think we'll be back in the market again - I think Drogba coming back is a sign Bamford might get a place next year - hope he gets a good loan this season... Plenty to be positive about and these games are hard - which counts - who was it who said these games would be easy? I knew they wouldn't - combined with the minimal travel - looking good for the start of the season
  2. Ok - but at the end of the day it's Jose's decision If it goes wrong - then sure blame him, but I have a feeling he knows what he's doing with the youngsters - contrary to popular belief
  3. Because of the ridiculous travel arrangements during a WC season... Let desperate Utd go to the US - Van Gaal already saying next year it won't happen. These teams might be considered 'poor' - but for them it's the game of their lives and like RZ last night, they will put a solid shift in, be organised and hard to break down. This is important in the development of the team and fitness (main priority)...
  4. Heh not trying to correct you just pointing out what I believe to be a contributing factor. I admire the guy - I don't think I could do it - so I guess he has lots of guts, determination and desire to do this. I think he will be fine for the rest of the season too - it's not all about physical condition, mental strength is also hugely important - and like I say his mental attributes must be good to be so disciplined - so I'm cool with the situation
  5. Hey B - see my point about decision making when fasting/dieting - makes the brain poor - google it - it's like REALLY noticeable - a quick injection of sugar into the blood and the brain lights up again and people can suddenly do what they couldn't 5 mins prior.., It's not a 100% excuse - but research and my own observations show it does affect people (guys at work - forgetting basic stuff)
  6. Can see another thread being locked - go discuss that shit in the appropriate thread. This thread is about Salah - who didn't have a great game, worked hard and gained some much needed fitness. I'm going to go easy on him as fasting is tough - I've seen some guys at work and it's killing them in a sedentary job (IT) so for Salah to train and play just wow. Anybody who knows anything about the body and metabolism will know that high intakes of sugar help the brain to be on top performance, whist when dieting or in a ketogenic state (like Salah) - brain activity is de-prioritised - which could explain some of the random decisions he made. I'm not saying that's the answer - but I suspect it is a contributing factor - football is a culmination of all of the little things and this was one against him.. Roll on the next game
  7. Lol I just watched the game (recorded it as late in from work) I came to the thread expecting some negativity - but just WOW Lots of opinions being formed early.. Zouma is poor, Salah is rubbish, Baker is rubbish etc. It's Pre-Season key objective = fitness Secondary objective - exposé young players to more pressure - some will handle it immediately, some will take longer I have absolutely no problem in ascribing 'over-enthusiasm' to some performances and the more the lads play, the better they will get. Honestly, just chill out a little and reserve judgement for a bit - I mean every week I read stories complaining we don't use our reserve team players, we do and then the majority are shit lol RZ Pellets are no mugs - they had a good shape and worked hard - it was our 'Boys' playing against 'Men' and you know what they did ok - it's a major step up for them and they handled it (for the most part) well. In the same vein - Boga was great - but it will be 3-4 years before we see him regularly I feel. I'm just glad that we finally have talent coming through and credit to Jose - he is giving the young lads a chance and long may that continue. I'm genuinely excited about our long-term prospects - and I hope you guys are too - we're building something special...
  8. Yup and Academies are exempt from FFP calculations it makes sense to invest as any player sold is pure profit from an FFP perspective (I know it's not really - but that's how it will work on FFP balance sheet)
  9. What a shit article - sure what the lads did was out of order but it was 13 years ago! And that's only one side of the story. Trash journalism of the highest order. I get 9/11 was bad - but to be honest - there was lots of disbelief around at the time - I don't think some people took it seriously until a few days after the event. Oh well on the flip side - might accelerate his return to a coaching role
  10. I had this problem with the App - it's a poor app. I just used the desktop version of the site and all was cool - via a browser
  11. Also it's been super hot (for an English person) over there - 35+ So the lads (if the thunderstorms hold off) will get a good sweat on
  12. It's 1:30 hours mate - I've just done it... Was in Austria at the weekend - I flew RyanAir - they are using Corporate Jet After some Schnapps tonight they will be fine for Wednesday
  13. I think the clue is in his forum name I hope we play these youngsters in the COC - it will really help us gauge their ability.. I'm hopeful that 3-4 of these lads break through - would be awesome... Just to shut people up!
  14. Welcome to Chelsea TV I pay for it - so imagine how annoyed I am
  15. Haven't RM just announced Kroos? If he has a year left on his contract - it makes sense to sit tight, leave on a free and go where he wants... For £200k week and ZERO transfer fee - I would take him, I just don't think he's worth that AND a transfer fee! As for a farce - it's because it's all rumours and speculation - facts are scarce
  16. He comes across as a good lad - hope he gets some chances this season
  17. Yeah let him go the Gooners - if Ozil and Khedira were so great - RM wouldn't have sold them... Arsenals problem is and will always be defence and keeper... Their midfield provide no cover. I'm not alarmed by their signings - Sanchez is good but one man doesn't make a team - as we found out last season
  18. Good luck He gave his best and that's all we can ask for - never really clicked for him - but some good/important goals Hope he has a great career going forward - should be a regular at besitkas - which will help him I guess we broke even on the transfer - not too shabby
  19. He's an asset - if he isn't doing it on the pitch then he needs to do it off it... I think people are still perpetually stunned at the shell of a player we have before us - I've seen more confidence in an AA meeting at a brewery... Such a shame really - but who knows, this is his season right Fabregas is the closest thing to Gerrards passing we have
  20. Same being reported in Evening Standard - I just don't see it. Would rather Vidal at £30million than Pogba at £60million
  21. I only believe Dr Iwantyour Cash from Nigeria - who sends me his inheritence and transfer news
  22. To be expected with the WC - small window before - I'd guess end July really busy and deadline day too
  23. Lol it shows just how poor a player is when people debate spelling of names, other attributes
  24. Hey - where have I ever said its ok?Never I said as a World we haven't progressed since Medieval times? The point I'm trying to make is that extremists on both sides are the cause, whilst the 'majority' of innocent people are killed, maimed and traumatised beyond belief... So there are a bunch of arseholes who think its cool to relish killing people - yet they scream outrage if they or their family are hurt. These guys are hypocrites first and foremost - terrible people second... There are no 'winners' in a war - just one bigger loser than the other. This conflict is akin to Pyrrichs victory - one side will claim victory, but at what cost? The only sensible resolution is a forced ceasefire immediately - then negotiations - via a 3rd party intermediary - this has to stop! And whilst not on the same scale - my family suffered during the IRA conflict and 3 of my cousins were killed in a bomb blast - all innocent people at a party - not one militant there! So I'm not being blasé about this - I just struggle to comprehend its 2014 and this madness continues...
