  1. Ohh and forgot to add AKE was amazing - this guy has a big future at the club - athletic and comfortable defending and getting down the flank! We have some amazing youth prospects to come - and with us inside FFP regs - we really do have a bright future
  2. Gutted we stopped at 2-0 - but that was an amazing 20 minutes Cesc was awesome sitting deep, helping the Tempo Costa had great linkup play I thought Oscar did ok - he was unlucky Torres did better than expected Ramires was good again apart from one stray pass I loved MvG's crunching tackle near the end. SUPERB! I have a feeling he's going to be a really useful player this season and wish him all the luck in the World. Just genuinely delighted with the Squad - so much strength and depth - just need the players to put in minimum 7/10 performances and as a team we should be contenders! It's just so nice watching a forward run into the box for a change...
  3. Never let facts ruin a good argument
  4. Is there much difference between the two? Both played for average teams and both found the net? Not sure that Bony is any better? And at double the price?
  5. It's all relative - high transfer fee + average wages = low transfer fee + high wages The only downside of the latter - is moving the player on afterwards.... We get another Torres...
  6. Thing is they escaped some of this sanctions this time around - if they fail again they are proper fucked
  7. Yup - what you describe there is the micro-fine line between winning and just missing out Lets hope we called it right this season
  8. Fair enough - I did say after this season he could be in for a shout and if it goes as expected - I would support that. Whilst JT is around he is the Captain. I'm not sure about Iva or Cahill as captains and maybe Cech will go? But lets get this season out of the way first
  9. Big season for him - he has all the skills - now he needs to convert these into goals and assists... Lets win the league Eden and you'll likely get your Baloon d'or
  10. Surely that's why Zouma has been purchased - to learn from JT and be his cover? Whilst JT is still playing the way he is - he needs to be in the team - I like the fact that Zouma gets to work with him day in day out - as Zouma will know what's required of him... I don't want to keep buying players - I want the ones we have to come through under the tutelage of existing players... This keeps a level of continuity and consistency (something we have lacked for a while)...
  11. Yup it's going to be an all out war - this is why the EPL generates so much interest, genuinely 4-5 teams that could string together a Title bid... Arsenal have always started badly and finished ok - I think it will be the opposite this season. City will be tough as usual It's Utd, Scousers, Spuds and maybe Everton that will be unpredictable... The Spuds might do well with their new manager - but expect them to drop off as well - if they lose a few - the dressing room gets toxic very quickly...
  12. Good luck to him - he showed sparks of something, then another injury derailed him. Hope he can find some form and has some injury free seasons. I think the lad genuinely wanted to do well here and he worked hard in Pre-Season in the US and looked good until the injury. I know he's an easy target for ridicule - but it can't be easy being injured all of the time.
  13. Agreed - I think we all just want some consistency from him - nobody can question his work rate - just his decisions and Paul Scholes tackles earning needless yellows
  14. I don't think Mou stated he had a good enough attack? In fact he got caught moaning about them We just simply don't know what's going on behind the scenes and the HG quota is causing a few problems - so I hope one of our young lads gets a chance up front - no expense, no HG issues and every chance to succeed! If not Remy will do fine
  15. Wish we had never let him move on That's definite proof of how managerial instability can lead to shocking decisions
  16. Credit where it's due - he looked more composed yesterday - and whilst I don't want him starting every game - he can be great cover and offer something different. That goal last night and the one against Barcelona were awesome - lets see more of that Mr Ramires please
  17. He will start at LB Him and Hazard will work it out on the left Give the guy a chance
  18. He was unlucky with his last kick (could have scored). Love his runs and presence - their defender should have been sent for raising his hands against him - when he backed into him... Think defenders wont relish him and Drogs up-front if we do move to a 3-5-2 against some teams - those guys will just smash through... I know Chelsea TV were scared of Burnley + Leicester - but I think we can beat them and beat them well. Lets school them for 'life in the Premiership' - I think they will both look to attack us (emotion vs rationality) and we should be perfectly set-up to exploit that.
  19. Ok why shouldn't he be? A Captain is the 'Leader' - the guy with experience, the person that drives the team forward, that leads by example, the person that has the will to be a 'winner' (these are all of the qualities I see in JT - and think Fabregas could have by the end of the season) It's also preferable to have the Captain in the middle of the park - as they are involved all of the time - rather than defenders, keepers or forwards... If he continues as he has in Pre-Season - I have no problem with him being Captain when JT steps down. We need to look past the Arsenal link - and think what's the best for Chelsea moving forward...
  20. He just looks scared - rabbit in headlights - I'm sad to say it but 'mentally' I'm not sure he can handle it. There's no denying he can be a great footballer - but it's just not working for him at Chelsea. I'm leaning towards moving the lad on - cant bear to see him like this for a whole season more - it's like he's not enjoying it anymore... I know it's a Pre-season friendly - but he's definitely not the same as the lad we signed - sure he works harder now, bu his vision, passing and link-up play have detoriated badly. Oh well lets see what happens until January... Such a shame though - really hoping he finds some form soon...
  21. Poor again today - he's just so unlucky - he looks like he has caught Torres-itus... Hope next game is better - his luck has to change!
  22. Anybody who doubted this signing is nuts - he is amazing... Great game today...
  23. I still love Italia 90 - that's the best for me Roger Miller
