I don't think he is to be 'fair' He's just saying 'if he said this...<journo comment> then this is what I think <opinion>' I would love Lukaku to stop talking to the press, knuckle down, and have a great season here at Chelsea - I think every fan wants the same, but some probably wont admit it... Lukaku can learn a lot from the players around him, with the squad additions this summer (planned/rumoured) he's got an amazing midfield behind him... We could even go to 4-4-2 against teams that park the bus - now that would be awesome Lukaku and Costa smashing through defences!!!

Schwarzer has re-signed according to the London papers...? So looks like Courtious, Schwarzer (Czech when he's recovered)
-
Would hope so, but as you wisely informed me - try reading around the place

Agree with everything except renaming the Stadium - I like it being called Stamford Bridge Don't forget our tie in with Sauber etc in F1 - the Board are doing a lot - some will work, some wont - I love our Samsung deal, good company

Lol I do avoid certain threads

Evidence is subjective and easily manipulated The old bill have been convicting people on 'evidence' for years People love to moan, a scandal sells, success is boring to most Although to be fair to TC members - I only really remember pure outrage when RdM was sacked and FSW came in even though the RdM decision was correct and the FSW won a trophy, it did feel like you'd fell asleep on Clapham Common and a train of dudes had been through you with no k y ...

Possibly, but unlikely. Lets all consult the oracle of FM when it's released - lol

Yes, fair point - but seeing us in that list, with probably the smallest ground out of all of the entries, is some feat... You also have to take into account country size - the Munich catchment area in mass is huge - almost equal to half of England (guesstimate) - plus Germany doesn't have Rugby competing for money/fans etc. they have handball (sucks, but some of the women teams are hot ) Spain is also much larger than England... Man City are the anomaly - but how much influence do they carry in the UAE - a fuckload I'd estimate and the footprint of the UAE is massive! So pound for pound we're actually doing a fucking great job I have slated the board and EMANELO many times - but I'm always willing to give people a second chance and credit where it is due! I actually thank Torres for my newfound compassion in giving second, third, two hundred chances to people - every time he plays, I still think maybe this is the day... Then the whistle for kick off wakes me up

Yeah but it's a nice pay day in a slower league - why not? If you were working 80 hours a week and someone offered you the same money for 40 hours a week and an easier job, you'd take it right? That's all this is - Villa has suffered from injuries and just fancies playing a few games and earning some final cash. Lampards body is staring to fail (a little). I don't begrudge him anything - he could even join Arsenal for all I care - he's still Super Frank and will always be a legend...
-
I would have him here - but I think he will end up at City - especially if Toure decides he's still not being loved enough If I was City - I would ship out Toure immediately... Surprised Kolarov is also going - dirty fukka - but quite a good player
-
They fucking owe us a favour for beating L'pool!!!
-
As much as he is dickhead - he is a great player and I would take him in an instant for €30 million I prefer him to Pogba

Ok - my take on Oscar... When Mata was here he was playing unbelievably well. When Mata left and he had ALL of the responsibility - he suffered a dip in form... Coincidence or cause/effect? Pressure is a strange thing - we hear about World Class all of the time - to me 'World Class' is doing it on the big stage when there is tons of pressure... Oscar hasn't managed that yet, but is 22 and will grow. He has also played tons of games in a short space of time, so we could be guilty of pushing him to burnout... I have complained all season that what we lack as a team is not skill - but mental strength, this is hard to coach - but I expect Mourinho to be able to make a difference here - and that's what our players need. If you want to ship him out fair enough, but Ozil suffered the same as Oscar this year - it happens... That's why squad depth is also an important factor. I will hope to see him perform on the big stage, prove hs doubters wrong and carry that form into next season... But yeah - I'm a sentimental old fool...

Lets see after the WC Have a feeling this post will come back to haunt you

Hmm - I see you are new here - that's cool, but er want to be much more of a cunt? I'm voicing my opinion - in a non sarcastic way, if you don't like it then fine - but no need to be a bellend about it... Traore is a nice player - has great attributes and could do a job along with some of our younger players. I hope Traore does get some game time. Then I can remind you of this post

Disgusted isn't the same as jaded I was disgusted that RM felt the need to pay €100million for Bale. I'm not sure he's worth that - but RM are happy - so good for them I'm happy we got €50million for Luiz My only gripe is with PSG and City who are under FFP restrictions/sanctions being able to splash that amount of cash around - its a mockery... So not jaded - just plain old disgusted

Wow this thread heated up whilst I watched some on demand 24 I still don't know what to say - but that €65million is a potential curse on a young lad Look at Neymar he's done fuck all at Barcelona - yet he was heralded as the new Messi... Saying this guy is Workd Class is confusing to me. My 'old' definition of World Class meant doing it on the big stage ? That's not the same as a rapidly declining Serie A... As we have all agreed - money DOES NOT equal success. Is there any point in risking €65 million on this guy when we have Chalobah, Traore and Loftus Cheek? I remember the hype around DeBruyne - turned out to be average, same with Moses, same with Marin - in fact a lot of 'Internet (Fifa/FM) players turn out to be shit in real life... Strange that
-
Fair enough I think we did reach the saturation point of spending £50 million on a bad player But you are right, that was then, this is now. I just don't want us to pay that much for a young kid - if he starts badly he will get crucified by the press and the price tag becomes a Damocles sword... We 'might not have no history lol' - but wouldn't want us to repeat the same mistakes There are other 'cheaper' options available. As for City - they didn't win convincingly Bayern - did ok, but added more players than the previous season and DID WORSE!!! Real Madrid - done well in Europe but didn't win the league, so spent more and improved little.. So out of those 3 big spending clubs - they didn't actually do that well all considering... Hence my point about spending not equaling success or should I rephrase to ' Domination'

So this is the link from Jake Cohen http://weaintgotnohistory.sbnation.com/2014/5/12/5707484/chelsea-ffp-earnings-set-to-increase-30-percent-to-340m So his analysis is that we are compliant in the 2013-14 season and can therefore go gangbusters now - and take a hit in 14-15 season... I just don't see it - but I'm happy to be proven wrong - as long as it benefits the club
-
So a guy on twitter says we can afford £150 million Great - does that include/exclude wages? And it's a little fishy, this guy knowing the exact transfer budget, which is a closely guarded secret? I mean you can't keep Roman out of the press talking about budgets, transfer kitty's etc oh hang on....
-
Ok - my view (and just my view) A) I'm not whining - I'm making a statement I have been around long enough to know nothing is guaranteed - so my point is why spend €65 million if nothing is guaranteed? We seem to be falling into the trap that money spent = success - yes it does to a certain extent but like anything there is a natural saturation point... C) We have invested in a lot of youth and spent considerable sums on a youth Academy that is now bearing fruit - why can't we explore that avenue - yes it's the same risk, but a risk that doesn't cost €65 million - so in essence it's a better risk I can't name any guaranteed player Chelsea's philosophy IMHO is to buy young talent cheap and sell high - to balance the books and try to promote youth - now we have a poor record of this, but I do genuinely believe that is the clubs ambition... Not looking for an argument or anything - that's just my opinion - formed over a number of years and few thousand posts
-
How is making a comment about the unsustainable transfer prices whining? What you fail to reference in your comment is that our purchases were Pre-FFP... The majority of clubs agreed to FFP (us included) - PSG and City are both currently 'under sanction' of FFP - for them to be able to splash out €65 million is absurd. Yes we wasted the same amount (rough pound to euro conversion) on Torres. But that was out of desperation. There's also no guarantee that a Seria A player will perform in the EPL - remember Uniteds costly mistake on Veron? I just don't see this happening - it's going against everything the club has been trying to achieve. Would I want him here? Maybe Is he as good as everyone is making out? Possibly... Is it a huge gamble - Yes... Am I sick of huge gambles - Yes... Shaw for £30million + Pogba for £55 million and Costa for £35 million = £120 million (less £40 from Luiz) is still a net spend of £80 million... If we can offload some more players it 'might' happen - but that's a lot of money...
-
Yeah but if all prices have jumped by 20-30% it's going to affect us on every transfer and is not showing signs of stopping FFP is worthless really as City and PSG are pressing ahead regardless.
-
Trouble is the BALE transfer fucked up the market - suddenly every player is worth 80-90 million - look at Luiz €50 million crazy money... It just needs to stop... Hate to say it but we need a system like the US - capped salary and fixed transfer price...
