  1. I think we're all hoping that Kante will replicate more of his MOTM performance vs Romania at the Euros in a possession heavy side. I agree that Nainggolan or another All-Around Top CM in that mould coupled with Kante would have been sensational. But even if we only sign one Midfielder all window, im happy it was a CDM. Mikel, great service but his time has come. And Matic made it incredibly difficult for Conte and Co. He's the ultimate wild-card. Was 2014/15 or 2015/16 an aberration? At the end of the day, just happy we have two CDMs, and reinforced the center of the park. And we'll address the loss of attaining Nainngolan either this window or next, hopefully the former.
  2. My Family and extended family members were JUST having this conversation on how to interact with police on Monday, (when aren't we tbh). But what's the point? If a white cop wants to shoot my black ass because he hasn't seen any "action" all day, he can with full impunity. All he has to do is claim he was "scared", hide behind the police shield/brotherhood, and the county mayor, Judge, and DOJ will cook something up a year from now, and he'll be back on the streets in the same position, or with a new job title and greater pay. I've seen this story play out way too many times.
  3. Amen. We'll finslly look like a team that practices shit at the Cobham training ground, instead of doing fuck all. And given the week long training sessions, I think they'll only adjust that much quicker to Conte's ideas. Conte has always said (paraphasing here) that as a player, he used to always hold on to the ball too long, and make mistakes, and then the fans would start to whistle at him whenever he recieved the ball. So as a manager, Conte trains passing patterns and always sets his team up to give players on the ball multiple passing options. Its everything we've needed and more. Finally.
  4. I gotta agree here. Even though we may only get 3 Top seasons from him moving forward, that isn't the worst in the world. We've seen just how fast the footballing landscape can change. One minute we're all dreaming of dynasties, next minute we're 1pt. Above relegation zone. We need Quality CMs, becuae our CMs are piss poor.
  5. Agree.. Although, scratch Morata, and Keep D. Costa, there's nobody who can replace him right now in the market imo. I would replace the Morata signing with a proper Box-2-Box or New #10 (If we miraculously ship Oscar), to complement the Kane signing. Midfield and CBs are the most prominent issues in our team. We have no ball playing CBs and all our CMs are simply not good enough to compete on the elite level.
  6. News is picking up steam on Twitter, lots of accounts reporting we've sealed the deal with Napoli apprantly. I wish it wasn't the Mirror reporting it, but make of it what you will.
  7. And all of the footballing World agrees with you Thibo. Wilmonts deserves to get the stick, and so do the players mind you.
  8. Am I the only one still sort of surprised that Kante is picking us out of the list of suitors? I always maintained that ONE year out of the UCL was never going to be impossible to recover from, and that transfer targets would still come to Chelsea, but even this Kante story has got me surprised if true. Because PSG or even just staying put at Leicester would seem the better choices, but alas! We're moving on from Mikel!
  9. And he's building the club a new stadium, which will only increase the club's value. For better or for worse, Roman Abramovich really did change the football landscape.
  10. Does anyone think he stays? I don't think he does.. It's clear Atelti are willing to do anything to have him back, and I think Costa is ready to return "home". Will be interesting to see who we replace him with.. Just pray it's not Lukaku, anybody but him!
  11. Batshuayi is very very energentic, but it must be said that as much as its a strength to his game, it can also be a detriment. Batshuayi knows where the goal is, and was often used as a Super Sub (before this season) and it was like he always scored when he came on. And even this season, for a garbage Marsielle side he still managed to put up 24Goals. And unlike Costa he actually knows how to attack the ball in the air. However! It must be said that his attitude will be the biggest crux to his development (much like Balotelli). One main reason he wasnt trusted to start before this season is that when he doesn't get the ball, he gets easily frustrated and goes headhunting for the ball. Which leads to him being a Tactical liability, and sabotaging the team. He can be very very very selfish, and doesn't trust his teammates at all. These are things you just gotta hope will be ironed out as he matures, and hopefully Antonio Conte beats that childness out of him. Because he knows how to score and can grow to become one of the elite Strikers in Europe. Or atleast, I think so.
  12. It's Happening! Chelsea have finally signed a player! Drinks on Me! Big Fan of Michy, will be fun to watch him grow before our Eyes! So happy that Lukaku nonsense can end now. Edit: For any pf you guys that are big on the analytics in Football Like I Am, here's a great write-up on Michy's xG's.
  13. Of Course Roma would play hardball when Chelsea come knocking on the door, but have no problems whatsoever selling Their top/2nd best player in Pjanic to a DIRECT TITLE rival in Juventus for less than Radja. Of course they would. Just our luck. Small Club mentality AS Roma have, and it is why they won't do anything in the Serie A. Guess its on to the next one!
  14. I'm pretty sure Morata knows he'll be off to a PL team.. He was never going to displace Mandzukic and Dybala at Juve. The buy-back from RM is just a technicality. Fiorentino Perez has no use for him, because he's waiting to splash the cash and get Lewandowski next summer. That's the way I see it.
  15. Exactly.. Buy Back Clauses, Buy Back Clauses, Buy Back Clauses, Buy Back Clauses. It's the only way Chelsea should entertain selling these promising youth players. Andreas should be competing for a job here imo, much like LDN Blue said, because JT is no longer a guaranteed starter, and Cahill is a tragedy in defense. In two years time, I seriously hope our CB starters (provided they continue to grow and get better) are Zouma, Andreas, and Whichever Top CB we plan on signing this summer.
  16. Conte has asked Carlo Cudicini to be part of his backroom staff!
