  1. If we use 2 strikers we either lose a MF player or a defend and revert to 3 at the back. If we were to go 4-4-2 that means we'd be outnumbered in MF by most teams in the PL and I have concerns about us playing 3 at the back.
  2. I assume your on about Mata and not Hazard who would probably excel as a LW in 4-3-3 tbh. Mata could perhaps play RW or LW like he did under AVB but I suppose he suits the central role better as he can have a greater effect on the game in central roles. Tbh Mata did quite decent on the LW until AVB got sacked and really it wasn't until the start of this season that just finished that he played better as an CAM in comparison to LW under AVB. He didn't really stick out as much when Robbie was interim manager in the central role as he does now.
  3. If we are going to continue playing 4-2-3-1, we need a player of his ilk and quality, well to be a top top top team we do. This team has so much potential so getting a playmaker and a striker is the next step now that we have the coach we want.
  4. 4-3-2-1 won't work in the BPL. Lower teams will stack the MF against us and have a numerical advantage and our wide areas will be vulnerable as we won't proper wingers who will track back as Mata and Hazard will play as attacking midfielders in the formation. I'd love to see us use 4-3-3 again at some point for a few reasons: - formation has a better defensive shape than 4-2-3-1 - easier to create passing triangles in midfield and attack - Suits some of our players better: Ramires will be able to play like he did under AVB as an explosive box to box MF player. Mikel would be better suited to 4-3-3 as well as he was under Carlo and Jose in the past. So would Romeu suit it better
  5. Hazard, Moses and Schurrle if we get him, will be the only direct players we have. De Bruyne is basically another #10, don't sell Moses to replace him with another #10... we need variety as much as depth.
  6. Craig Gordon is more than likely to retire I think. Haven't heard much though as hes been working on his fitness the last year or so but yeah.
  7. No you don't necessarily use stamina to win the ball back, you have to tackle to win the ball back. He used his stamina to cover a lot of ground, like Ramires, to get up and support the teams attackers as well as work back so he COULD make tackles. His main assets were that he was able to tackle and intercept passes so he could win the ball back very easily for the team.
  8. Essiens main asset was his ability to win the ball back and cover a lot of ground. He and Boateng are about as similar as Drogba and Cech though. Boateng is mostly an attacking midfielder. Hes played on the wing for Milan last season because he doesn't fit a MF role in 4-3-3.
  9. Di Maria and Hulk are on different pages. Di Maria is miles better than Hulk.
  10. If Milan get a good offer they will any of their players. They aren't as stable financially as before.
  11. Average but would make a decent squad signing.
  12. SCOTLAND HELL YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAH Despite Strachan being a ginger wank with no idea like the last guy, we managed to win against someone who isn't fucking Moldova, jesus, the apocalypse is coming.
  13. What? Nothing to show for it? So 3 trophies under Mancini and gradual improvement on league positions is nothing to show for the investment? He was the only manager who was giving time to build a team there. They aren't trying a new project, its the same, they are just trying to do more stuff like blood more youth players through and instill a philosophy through out their whole club like at Barca/Ajax. Europe was their short coming but still you can't exactly say that when we got dumped out of the competition last year after winning it. If anything we were just as bad as them in Europe this year, if not worse. Our project as such is really only just started, its a year into development. City are better than us right now, as proven in more or less every game we played against them this year except one.
  14. A tough choice you say? Silva and Robinho both turned us down to move to City in recent times. It is a tough choice. We had a better squad on paper than City in both years when Silva and Robinho turned us down to go to City so yeah, it doesn't matter who you have.
  15. a vastly overrated footballer who is a diving cunt as well as a cunt in general as he plays for shitty Tottenham........ well when Paulo lets him out his back pocket he does.
  16. Pmsl the Daily Star are about as reliable as starting Kalou in the CL final......... oh shit wait we won....
  17. I can see at least 35m of 40m being payed upfront then the last 9m or so in installments. Be wary though might not be true, just a rumor that Tancredi Palmeri put on twitter.
  18. Welcome to the forum, I see you've met stingray then ........... do you leave anyone alone Tom ?
  19. Barca are cunts. Think they can get everyone cheap. Thats not how shit works these days. You want Thiago Silva you pay more than what PSG did, which was what 40 million or something? Cheeky bastards they are, throwing in 10-20 million offers for players worth more than that! Do they think that selling to Barca is really honorable or something hahahahhaha cunts
  20. Na not really as Cech/Lamps will wear the armband if they are in the team.
  21. I can see Spurs getting a few gems signed under Baldini and AVB. They both have a great eye for talent. Hoping they don't though for obvious reasons....
  22. Jose made that Chelsea team, if Ranieri had stayed we would of probably finished in the top 4 again but we wouldn't have won the league no way. If you take out all of Romans money, nobody would have won anything in his era. The Inter team he inherited lacked self belief and confidence after Mancini left, Jose sorted that, he galvanized a bunch of experienced players along with completing the transfer of Wesley Sneidjer who he built his team around. Sneidjer was the masterstroke signing for Jose, Militio eventually signed and he also along with Ibra/Eto'o and Sneidjer basically carried Inter to those trophies. To say Jose was average is a joke. Cambiasso, Samuel, Cesar, Chivu, Stankovic etc were all good players but the team didn't function as a team. He signed Sneidjer and managed to rejuvenate the older players to do something special. Tell me the last Italian team to win a treble? Please do? The fact Jose won the CL as well despite Inter not having won the trophy in 50 years as well is a special achievement. To say Jose is an average manager is beyond ridiculous. I know its your opinion but you have to look at what he done with Porto, Chelsea and Inter and even with Madrid in his second season to see that he is not average. His trophy haul proves this. When did an average manager win 20 trophies in 10 years? Also from February 2002 and April 2011 Mourinho hadn't lost a home game, average manager yeah? Only coach to win league titles in Spain, Italy and England, you sure hes average?
  23. Tbh I reckon that's a decent move for Spurs, he was behind recruiting the likes of Erik Lamela from River Plate, Miralem Pjanic from Lyon and Marquinhos from Corinthians who have been big successes. Just hoping he and AVB lose their knack of finding good players though so we can stuff them 8-0 next year
