When we were trying to sign Ba "what a great signing he will be", when we actually signed Ba "hes not good enough" haha how times change.

Just around 6 ft 2. Was some daft shit like 6 ft 1 and a half more or less when I last measured, so I'm going to round it up..

Yay late night Ricky Gervais show, thumbs up to the numpties who decide what goes on E4! Best thing they've done in a while.

Incredible player. 08/09 season he was sensational..
-
Will be funny if we do sign him and Yaya Toure decides to slap him like he did with Mata, can see someone getting destroyed...
-
Don't know why but when I think of De Rossi playing for us I think of that movie 300...... just because he seems like the sort of guy that would kick your head in just because he feels like it

Not true. Granero was sold by Madrid and eventually resigned after 2 successful seasons with Getafe. Anyway on Josh, I think he needs to get a bit more fight in him, as when you look at younger English players like Wilshere or Cleverly (as shite as he is) etc, they get stuck in a lot when out of possession. Josh physically could also improve but thats a totally different matter, I mean a few years back Wilshere was a stick, now hes bulked up due to his injury lay off and is much stronger. Same with Danny Welbeck, he went to Sunderland as a skinny runt, went back to United in the summer and bulked up a lot. Not saying he needs to become Vin Diesel but a bit of body weight could do him no harm, I could see him playing against a Toure or a Dembele or Sandro and getting absolutely killed. He looks even skinnier than Oscar... He could yet make the grade here, but I feel if hes going to improve, he needs a good loan to a team that play possession based football, where their front 3 of 4 or whatever look to make clever runs etc knowing they can be lfound. Its hard to find him a loan like that, because you could say well only a few teams play like that. Or we could give him a go but I feel hes not ready to be a regular at Chelsea yet. He has the potential to be a very special player but he has to get himself together and prove he has the determination and passion to go with the ability.

I don't see PSG being interested in him. They already have Thiago Motta, Clement Chantome, the youngster Rabiot who they have big hopes for, Marco Verratti and Blaise Matiudi as well while they are also linked with Maxime Gonalons who would probably go to PSG more than De Rossi would in my opinion. PSG's problem is, if they sign Cavani, how do they utilize Ibra, Cavani, Lucas and Pastore in one team while using the likes of Verrati, Motta/Matiudi? Also theirs talk if they are to go for Cavani that means Ibra has to go due to his high salary. I don't think PSG will go for De Rossi at all unless there are going to be radical changes, ie. Matiudi, Motta and maybe Verrati sold...

True but look at Balotelli now under Prandelli with the national team and Allegri or whatever his name is at Milan. They have sort of straighten'd him out. Balotelli would actually be a decent buy for me haha but yet again that would divide this forum more than John Obi Mikel ...... I don't think Suarez's attitude is bad, he loves football, its just he does stupid shit like biting players and racially abusing players which isn't acceptable at all. Look at his ban though he got 8 games for racial abuse while JT got 4? I can see why he is a bit annoyed with England tbh, JT should have gotten 8 or more games for the racial abuse case with that twat Anton.

If anyone can straighten him out, its Jose. If Loserpool would accept a bid from us for him then I'd probably take him. Great player.
-
He'd be undisputed first choice at Southampton, hardly no chance he'd join if the price is right and hes guaranteed first choice.
-
Southampton apparently want to sign Leandro Damiao, Ever Banega and Victor Wanyama.... wow, if they sign those players along with Lovren, Clyne and Ramirez, some of their business in the last 2 seasons has been incredible. Not saying they will gatecrash the top 4 but who knows if Pochettino gets them going then who knows top 6 or 7 for them?
-
Confirmed on Mulumbu's twitter. Great signing for Steve Clarke
-
He should be right up your street then Jay you Beiber fanatic.
-
Can't see him being loaned out tbh because we would probably have signed him and put him back to Vitesse as they are playing in the CL next year. His agent said he would only move if he was guaranteed first team football, which he must be by the time he agreed to the transfer, but thats just what I think.

See if Napoli will take Ba and 35-40 odd million for Cavani. Then we will have Cavani, Torres, Lukaku and Schurrle as potential CF options next year. Or sell Ba and Torres and sign both of them? or is that just greedy Problem with the Cavani deal is they want Ramires and cash as opposed to anyone else we have offered (Torres, Marin).. utter wankers they are. Or just wait to August 10th until his clause is removed and try then but I have a feeling come the end of this month we will have signed a striker who is one of either Rooney/Cavani/Lewandowski/Mario Gomez... Do we spend money on Rooney say 20-30m transfer fee and potentially 200k wages or 50 odd million on Cavani/40 odd million and Ramires? I would rather spend 20-30m on Rooney and the 200k wages on a 5 year deal as opposed to a 53 million pound transfer and potentially 150k wages on a 5 year deal/40 something million and lose Ramires.

Which is a position we are more or less well stacked in with De Bruyne returning from Werder so we don't need him!
-
I reckon this guy signing would be that bit of steel and graft we've lacked in midfield since we had a fully fit Essien and Ballack in our team. Also as Strike pointed out too, hes a pretty much all round midfield player, like Ballack was in a sense. He is good defensively, he is able to create chances for his team mates (his passing is underrated by a lot who see him more as a destroyer) and he can also score goals from various positions like outside the box during open play and inside the box from set pieces etc. When he was suspended for Italy in the Confeds you could see the difference, hes such a vital player to them, as vital as Pirlo or Balotelli imo. Without De Rossi Italy don't have a ball winner in midfield, hes also capable of being that player that can create chances for his team mates from deeper but with Pirlo, Italy don't need to utilize him like that.

Remember the last 2 players signed from Sporting Lisbon by an English club for biggish fees? Ronaldo went on to be Ronalo and Nani wasn't too bad either when he was playing regularly for United. Means nothing but to say its a stupid buy or a bad buy without even watching him play (I've not seen him play either but heard positive stuff about him at the u20 World Cup) is a farce.

Looks so classy and professional, great job mate!

Forgot that.. yeah can't see us taking back all three of them (Wallace, Kalas and Omuero) interesting to see if we do go for De Rossi and loan Wallace to Roma.
-
Seen that quote that was posted above, don't care how unreliable it is. De Rossi is a perfect fit for us, sign him up.
-
Superb goal keeper. Hard to think about 4 years ago he was playing in the SPL with Motherwell and now hes an England international. If he'd accept the Turnbull role as I call it hahaha, then sure he'd be a great signing. Or possibly another keeper we could look at would be Ali Al Habsi, sure hes 29 or 30 but he'd do as a back up for a few years.
-
I dont think we will recall both Kalas and Omuero this upcoming season. We have JT, Ivanovic, Cahill, Luiz and Ake all options at CB and potentially either one of Kalas/Omuero who could get some game time but having both of them here, one of them would struggle for games unless we get a lot of injuries and suspensions. Kalas can cover at RB which makes him coming back seem more appealing but there was a rumor Steve Clark was considering approaching us about a loan deal for him which would be an excellent chance for him tbh. Also the fact Vitesse are in the Champions League too next year could end up with him staying there but hes already had 2 or 3 seasons in Holland, I think a Bundesliga/PL loan would benefit him more.
