If we are to continue playing 4-2-3-1, he has more a right to start in the pivot than Lampard, Essien, van Ginkel or Luiz, playing without a natural DM has given us problems in midfield. We only have Mikel and Oriol as defensive midfielders, one of the two should start there, with one of Ramires, Lampard, Essien or van Ginkel next to them.

Still better for the pivot than Lampard on the basis he is an actual defensive midfielder.
