  1. Chelsea played good for 20 or 30 minutes against a newly promoted side who were all over the place in those 20-30 minutes. As mentioned by many people on here, De Bruyne was almost invisible against a League 1 team. For someone who has got something special and always able to create chances he was very very poor. He needs to wait and prove himself, unlike at Bremen and Genk where he was arguably the best player. It meant his standards could slip still and he'd play 90 minutes as they didn't have anyone better to use. Being at a big club that will have to change. Hes playing for his next minutes in the team. He doesn't offer anything that we don't already have either, he isn't a winger, he's an attacking midfielder, plays in between the lines, might start on the right but primarily comes inside to link up with Mata/Oscar/whoever in comparison to Schurrle who is a winger. Like Mourinho did at Madrid he had: Ronaldo - Ozil - Di Maria. - Ronaldo played as an inside forward/inverted winger who did the odd bit of work defensive at times but not very much. - Ozil played the number 10 role made himself available to take the ball from the pivot. - Di Maria played as a winger, offering width but most importantly he ran back helping Arbeloa out. I think hes trying to recreate that at Chelsea with Hazard - Oscar - Schurrle, Hazard playing a role similar to Ronaldo's obviously with a bit more off the ball work, Oscar playing the #10 role but in the industrious way like he does for Brazil pressing high up and Schurrle offering width, running back to help Ivanovic. Sure he can get the same from Mata on the right and Kevin on the right as well and I think we will see Mata in that role more with Schurrle coming on at times to stretch teams when we are too narrow. Obviously Mourinho played low block at Madrid and on the counter but he's changing his philosophy, he wants a high block and high pressing so perhaps Kevin also has work to do with his defensive input as well as his offensive input. He ran so many miles in the Bundesliga last year but that was last year.
  2. Fucking hate seeing players do this, never mind one of our loanees. Disgraceful stuff, no wonder he did it though Diego Simeone is his manager, guy is a thug, always will be.
  3. I've made too many transfers already, I'd probably have a billion more points if I wasn't so impatient with players.... now if I go to put Ramsey in my team I bet you he breaks his leg next week or something... also taking Hazard out now bet he decides to score a hattrick next game too..
  4. Ruining De Bruyne? I thought Jose was perhaps going to ruin Mata but based on what I seen vs Swindon and Spurs, he's improved his overall game. Sure some teams set up with a lot protection in midfield so certain players can wander and do whatever they want but how good was it to see Mata change and see him pressuring the ball when we lost it giving we have seen a very lazy Juan Mata in terms of off the ball work? I wasn't happy with Oscar starting as a 10 and Mata out the team as we lost quality but I got it. We might lack a bit of quality but at least we can press high up and put a lot of pressure on. Maybe its the same with Kevin? Chelsea haven't ruined anyone, Lukaku will come back here next summer as a 21 year old, going to a World Cup after scoring close to 15-20 goals for Everton, he'll come back a better player as he was playing regular games week in week out, as opposed to 2 games a month. The same with Courtois, Kevin can do the same if he works harder, as based on how he played vs United and Swindon he has a lot of work to do. Also a journalist has confirmed that Kev isn't happy about training with the u21s.. also stuff on who wanted to sign him this summer.
  5. I'd like to have seen him in the squad tbh but Mourinho told the media he wasn't impressed with Kevins performance vs Swindon, where he was quite bad. Kevin has said in numerous interviews he'd fight for his place so he must do this, Mourinho also mentioned before the Spurs game he'd have to work very hard and play for his next appearance so the balls in Kevins court obviously, up to him to work hard, like Mata had to do but obviously the fact Kevin has been nailed on first choice at Genk and Bremen hasn't really helped him as he was guaranteed a start at both clubs. I've not been too impressed with him since the first 35 minutes of the Hull game tbh, needs to step it up when hes in the team, he was good in pre-season but thats pre-season. Hes a good player but he needs to show his worth to Jose and train better than Mata, Hazard, Schurrle, Willian and Oscar.. obviously difficult for him to build up any consistency when hes playing once every 3 games or something but still he has to do it. Also zyzz mate, you could argue that when we go to try and get the ball back that someone like Schurrle with his pace is much better for it that and perhaps thats behind Jose's thinking at times when he weighs up the selection. The way Jose is trying to get us to play without the ball is good, we needed to do that at times last year and even under AVB. In terms of quality perhaps Kevin edges Andre but Andre isn't as bad as some people have made out, he was an ideal signing for depth and part of Jose's philosophy.
  6. KDB won't be in the squad tomorrow. Mourinho said hes training with the u21s. Torres must start, if he plays half as well as he did against Spurs he will score a goal or two. Must win this, get our CL campaign started.
  7. Lampard was at fault for Spurs goal not Mikel. Mikel was pressuring the ball, they work it to Eriksen who turns Lamps far too easily...
  8. I can. Abramovich's mate said to him "I'm selling all my expensive players at Anzhi because I'm sick of them. Spurs want Willian." Roman replies "Willian eh? How much? 10m? 20m? 30m? Ok heres 30m, tell his agent Jose wants him, tell him he will play in the Champions League, tell him he will play despite the fact we have 5 other attacking midfielders, Andre never done well here so lets steal his ideal signing." Its just Abramovich flashing the cash pointlessly, showing Chelsea can sign whoever they want for however much and to get one up on Spurs. £30m that could have been used to try and tempt Ilkay Gundogan or Modric or someone else who is similar and needed much more. Ultimately I think Jose thinking Spurs are a title contender has a lot to do with it too but I bet this move was probably one Abramovich wanted more than Jose. Still on De Bruyne, unlike at Genk, Bremen and with Belgium he isn't the best right winger/attacking midfielder we have. He needs to wait and fight like he said in that interview. When he gets the chance he has to do better than how we done against Swindon but its hard to build up momentum playing once every now and then which is why he has to impress when he gets a chance to stay in the team.
  9. What.......................... just stop mate If Sturridge had played like that you'd be in the Sturridge thread saying we've made a mistake for the 100530603th time, his second half performance was brilliant. Which striker has played that well in the PL?
  10. double post.. triple post actually wow fuckkkkkk
  11. Referee ruined that game. First half was ok, Spurs dominated though, took their opportunity. Jose must have kicked some arse at half time though, Torres wow, what a game, arguably his best performance in a Chelsea shirt, sure the scratching thing with Vertonghen wasn't nice but it was good to see Torres standing up for himself and showing fight as opposed to getting knocked over like Ferdinand did to him last season. Mata came on and made Oscar look completely shit, Oscar was quite bad today imo. Mata ran the game, created the goal from a set play but he was excellent throughout. Hopefully Jose will play him now, he looks to have adapted and he deserves his chance now. Schurrle's shot was unlucky, hard to think hes getting stick for Lloris making a good save. At least we know we have that extra gear when we want to play like that, we need to play like that, if we played like that against United, Everton and Basel we'd have won and if the ref didn't make that decision we would have won today I feel.

  13. Jose couldn't have given Spurs a bigger fucking hint that he is more worried about what they do than what we do. Ramires on the wing? Fuck me, Gylfi Sigurdsson is playing on their right wing, guys hardly Gareth Bale.... Lampard vs Paulinho will be laughable too. If we win sure his selection worked but if we lose I'm blaming Jose starting Lampard in a crucial area of the pitch where Ramires is a mile better in. Over 150m worth of AM/RW/LW players and hes playing a CM on the wing.... If its not a 4-3-3 like Hutcho said then we are fucked in the arse but if its a 4-3-3 then why is Oscar playing RW chasing fullbacks?FUFUFCKFUJCKUFCUFKCUFKCUC I don't know
  14. My wisdom teeth are coming through and they are driving me insane.. fuckkkkkk
  15. Surprised nobodies mentioned me... naaaaaa, no idea, why hasn't Djokovic not been mentioned? Guy is one hell of an athlete, bags of stamina, strong, quick... if Ronaldo gets a mention then surely Djokovic must..
  16. Valencia apparently expressing interest in taking Juan back to the Mestalla. Also Real Madrid are believed to be interested in him, hmmmmmm if he doesn't get back in by December I reckon he'll be gone.
  17. Josh hasn't shown any sort of improvement or determination though, he is gifted enough but doesn't take the game by the scruff of the neck. If Josh is eventually sold, its his fault more than anyone elses for not being confident enough in his own ability and really kicking on when others have.
  18. All this criticism of Sandro and calling Sandro shit is wrong imo. Hes a top player, reminds me a bit of Yaya Toure (not exactly the same position, Toures a box to box player and Sandro's a holder), really aggressive, very strong, carries the ball very well, good shot from distance. Course hes not as technically gifted or tactically aware as Mikel or whoever but hes a massive player for Spurs. We need to be very wary hes a top player who is a vital cog of the Spur's team, very combative and breaking moves up in the middle of the park. Also Erik Lamela was very very good against Villa last night, we need to stop him getting space and playing clever balls in behind for Soldado/Defoe, also the same with Eriksen, Mikel and Lampard/Ramires need to be very wary and disciplined (which Mikel is usually not so sure about Lampard or Ramires at times though) to stop him influencing the game. I think we'll play this team: Cech Ivanovic-Luiz-Terry-Cole Mikel-Rami/Lamps Schurrle-Oscar-Hazard Eto'o
  19. We have the quality in depth in offensive areas in the team so we should be able to play a very strong team no matter what. Should be able to beat Arsenal, if they put a similar team out to tonight, which I doubt, it will be another 5-0 if they strengthen their team slightly with Ramsey, Ozil, Cazorla, Arteta we should still beat them or at least give them an excellent game as we have more than enough players to give them problems.
  20. Romeu last year and now Marco. Feel for him, being a World Cup year and all as well, even worse. Lets give him his time to recover and see how he bounces back next season, it can be done (look at Ramsey at Arsenal).
  21. Graeme Souness criticizing Luiz along with Alan Hansen is a fucking regular occurrence. I hate both of them. Hansen was an slightly better than average CB who was glorified because he played for Liverpool when they were winning everything and Souness is a wanker. Finding Luiz a partner who can play in sync with him is our problem. I quite like the look of what that Mamadou Sakho guy is doing at Liverpool, aggressive, strong, quick, although I don't think he'd be a good partner to Luiz as they slightly similar. The points about the English or traditional back 4 in comparison to a more continental style of defending is spot on. Terry and Cahill prefer their fullback to tuck in to give them a sense of security as opposed to the continental style where defenders run out to close down/tackle/intercept etc.
  22. If Lampard plays they will fuck our midfield up. Paulinho/Dembele vs Lampard? Going to be one way each time...
  23. Hard for players like De Bruyne and van Ginkel to build on their performances when they are playing 90 minutes every 3 weeks...
