Well if you'd rather see one of Ramires or Pogba potentially used in the wrong role then maybe it would be a good deal but still...
-
Nobody of the class we need is available in my eyes. In fact any of Modric, Pogba, Alonso, Montolivo, De Rossi, Gundogan... whoever else you name will cost a shit load of money, their clubs want to keep them.

The 2008-09 season where they won the treble Busquets (his first season in the senior team) and Toure started more or less the same amount of games, Toure played at CB in various games too due to Puyols dodgy fitness. Season 2009-10 where they won 6 trophies, Busquets made 51 appearances and Toure 36 appearances, then the season after he was sold. Watch how he plays for City and how Busquets plays for Barca, watch how disciplined and aware Busquets is, Toure is never like that. Toure is a box to box, Toure isn't a DM. Hence Mancini using Barry to cover for his tactical and awareness faults next to him. Anyway to answer your question, Modric or Mateo Kovacic (has so much potential, can be a magnificent player).
-
Toure is a terrible DM. Hence why Guardiola got rid of him from that position as soon as he took charge. He lacked discipline and tactical awareness, hes a box to box midfielder, he likes to push up and support attacks, hence why Mancini played Gareth Barry or Javi Garcia or Jack Rodwell next to him; to allow him to go and play further up. Same with Fernandinho partnering him under Pellegrini. I've been watching Juve this season, Pogba is better suited to the box to box position he usually plays for Juve. Sure hes came in for Pirlo and played in front of the back 3 so Andrea can rest but hes not a natural fit there, not yet anyway. If he was to become more accustomed in that role for Juve over the next few year then sure why not but we should not be spending anything over 30m for a player whose best in a box to box position to retrain as a deep lying playmaker. It would be like spending 40m on someone like Julian Draxler to turn him into a striker because he has a good long range shot from distance, decent finisher in general, good link up play and he's 6 ft ....
-
If hes offered a big salary he will sign it, his agent is a money grabbing bastard who ultimately told him to leave Celtic where he was going to be given first team football for more money and reserve football at Chelsea. Hes a talented kid but he would have been better at Celtic for now than Chelsea.

Rami is only no longer wanted due to him bad mouthing his coach and his colleagues like an idiot. Decent defender, will suit the Italian league too where its much more slower so his lack of speed will not be noticeable. Zapata is terrible though at Milan, absolute shocking CB.

Exactly. Nate is the future, hes only 19 or 20, we need a midfield player right now, Lampard/Essien are on their last legs, Mikel seems to have fallen slightly out of favor and Marco is out for the season. Mourinho has made it clear he wants Nate to play for us, hes sent him on loan to prepare him so hes good enough to play for us, I personally believe next season he will get regular game time, but still we need a midfielder of equal quality to Rami who can help us right now. The midfield was the weakest part of our team last year defensively, wingers didn't work back, our 10 didn't press the oppositions 8 and we don't have a proper partner for our best midfielder yet. Rafa and Jose have sorted the wingers coming back to help the fullback in different ways and Jose has moved Oscar into the middle as he is a runner and will press the oppositions deepest midfielder when he gets the ball. He needs to get the next part right because a good midfield player next to Ramires will allow him to do what hes good at, breaking up the pitch causing the opposition problems.
-
Well one he isn't a defensive midfielder. Hes a box to box midfielder, we already have the second best one in the EPL imo so why buy another? We need a suitable player to play next to Ramires, signing Pogba to be that player would be the same as playing Lamps there, someone who is used to going up and down the pitch supporting the attackers. We'd effectively be filling a square hole with a round peg, we need to get someone to play next to Ramires or play Mikel more frequently. Gundogan on the other hand is perfect for what we need, he plays as the deepest midfielder for Dortmund effectively, hes the hub of their team, keeps them ticking, controlling the tempo, we need someone like that. As talented as Pogba is he isn't the answer.
-
Guardiola would probably ruin him anyway like he did with Ibra and Sanchez. Would probably end up playing him wide....
-
Isn't Pogba not more or less a box to box player? Perhaps he has an all round skillset but hes not exactly someone who controls the tempo of a match. At Juventus Pirlo does the sort of stuff we need in a midfielder; he controls the tempo of the match. Vidal, Marchisio and Pogba are the legs in midfield, they do all the running, tackling.. sure they contribute in possession and score goals etc but they aren't the regista, or 'architect' of the team as Pirlo is known as. He'd suit United more than us. Pogba and Carrick would be a great partnership.
-
Only on loan. Anyway is this true about Pogba? Will they really have to accept bids for him eventually?
-
Perhaps but look at Carvalho when he arrived. Not much on him but he was quick and technically good.
-
Absolute bullshit. AVB has praised both Mourinho and Robson for what both done for him. Watch AVBs interview about Jose in the documentary about Jose, he says Jose done A LOT for him and that Jose is the best manager in the history of football or something. Just because AVB is Spurs boss and has had digs at Jose doesn't mean he doesn't appreciate what he gave him.
-
True but sometimes its better to retain possession as opposed to trying a hollywood pass or whatever. Charlie Adam at Liverpool was guilty of this at times before Rodgers sold him and even under Dalglish. Looks good when it comes off, bad when it does not. I'm not going to get into this though lol, some people prefer Lampard and some people prefer Mikel in the pivot. I'll just leave it at that because there will be about 40 members wanting to get their say on this and it will eventually end up in some shitty argument.
-
Bar Torre's second half performance vs Spurs I'd say Ba has been our best striker so far in one appearance....
-
Only fear I have with Cardiff is that against City and Spurs they were defensively superb and organized very well. I'm sure we might huff and puff at them for a while but we will eventually break them down. Or you'd hope. Against City in particular they sat deep with one player holding in front of the defence and then a row of 4 quite deep to stop City playing through the lines. Was very effectively to be fair and they deservedly won.

Welcome mate. Stick around Dortmund fan since the 90s, well thats a change, I know people who have only liked Dortmund since 2010 or whatever but its a nice change to meet someone who has followed them for a longer period of time.
-
jesus christ the Lampard thread and the only thing people care about is Mikel. 'Mikel was good against X, Mikel did this against Y, Mikel sucked vs Z" loool Anyway Lampard wasn't too bad vs Norwich, first half good, second half they got into it more. Still room for improvement defensively.
-
4-0 Chelsea, calling it early haha.
-
If Roma play as well as they did on the break in the first half vs Inter they will walk all over Napoli I feel. Garcia has done an excellent job. Gervinho has been superb and Totti too. Really like their MF trio of De Rossi-Strootman-Pjanic, quality midfield. Florenzi's goal vs Inter was an incredible counter attack... similar to Hazards goal vs Norwich
-
Yep. Pretty sad to see him probably being sold as obviously he had a lot of potential in his younger years with Gladbach and Bremen but he was utter shit for us last year in the league and cup games. Maybe he just can't hack English football?? Also I read somewhere Unai Emery said he has 'neckbreak speed' I don't particularly think hes very fast, or is he very fast just didn't run at full at all for us?
-
I'll fuck you up m8, you'll be more broken than Wayne Rooney's foot after he stepped foot in Paulo Ferreira territory.
-
He isn't a hot head. David Luiz is a hot head. Diego Costa is just a Suarez level cunt. Or that. Wasn't he not heavily linked to Liverpool? Imagine that, a cunt playing for the cunts along side a even bigger cunt.
-
Costa is a bit of a hot head but hes in the form of his life right now. He just received a call up for Spain too I think. Koke is brilliant, technically sound, versatile as you said but I don't think we'll go for any of those two.

Best individual performance you've ever seen?
OneMoSalah replied to Shane's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Milito vs Bayern 2010 CL final. Everything he did was great, so calm for his two goals, held it up well, a real thorn in Bayerns side. Such an efficient striker. Just seen it was mentioned by Magic Lamps as well. Also Drogba's games - vs Spurs (5-1 game, where we absolutely steamrolled them under Robbie) - vs Bayern (CL final, we all know how good he was) - both legs vs Barca (1-0 and 2-2 game, he was exceptional in both) - vs Stoke (7-0 game in the season we won the double, didn't score but he was superb and set a few up) - vs Liverpool (FA cup final under Robbie and 4-1 game in the CL) - vs Wigan (8-0 game when we won the double, won golden boot after scoring a hattrick, was desperate to win the golden boot over Rooney) Nico's performance against Sunderland thats already been mentioned by Rubber bullets. Was brilliant, didn't do anything wrong at all. Messi vs Arsenal 2010, also already mentioned, what a performance that was, absolutely destroyed Arsenal. Messi vs Levekursen, scored 5 goals, he also got an assist I think, was unbelievable, could have scored at least 8 if it weren't down to good goalkeeping at times from Leno. Neymar vs Scotland back in 2011 at the Emirates, was insane, what a performance. Roy Keane vs Juventus in the Champions League, I didn't see it live but I seen footage on and Keane was immense. Real midfield general performance. Balotelli vs Germany at the Euros, if we seen this from Balotelli every week nobody would care about his behaviour. Was superb, troubled Germanys CBs for the whole game. Zidane in most games at the 2006 world cup, yes he messed it up with the headbutt vs Italy in the end but he was sensational and single handedly carried France in every game. Also the 1998 WC too that France won, he was the main man again really. Also Zizou vs Leverkusen, incredible goal, incredible performance. Hes only given credit for the goal but his actual performance was insane. Could write a whole bunch more of Zidane performances, Ronaldinho performances and Totti performances but there are just too much. Same with the Brazilian Ronaldo.... damn
