Courtois must be a Chelsea player next year, fuck a record fee, the guy is an exceptional keeper and hes 22 or 23, we must keep him. We aren't a selling club.
-
In the Carling Cup? Yeah he had a shocker that night haha.
-
Englands problems are in midfield and defence I feel. Lampard - Gerrard just doesn't work and it hasn't done for nearly 10 years or so. Wilshere cannot carry that midfield by himself. Carrick must be included, hes been the brains of that United midfield for however many years now, he's more or less been the best central midfield player they've had recently but still can't get a look in. Absolutely shocking. If Hodgson wants England to improve in possession then they need to play Carrick, who we've all seen how good he is on the ball, picking passes and controlling the tempo. I think England should go for 3 men in the middle of the park, something like this: Wilshere - Carrick - Lampard/Gerrard/Cleverly/Milner/whoever Sure Hodgson likes to play 4-4-1-1 with a #10 but perhaps a 3 man midfield wouldn't hurt. Or just picking Carrick in general and playing Wilshere slightly further up where he isn't going to expose his partner as much. Don't even want to speak about the English defence, sometimes it performs well but then there are just nights where it is abysmal. Need someone to take charge in there and fast.

Not just Oscar, Hazard and Mata can be blamed for us shipping goals when they play together. Take into consideration how bad the pivot is sometimes, especially when Lampard played there next to Ramires and Mikel was missing from the team in general. Also Luiz's nativity and lack of positional sense in the pivot was clear to see in some games.

Delighted that Scotland beat Macedonia! Got there eventually despite controlling much of the game. Strachans done well so far.

I get your point. In a 4-2-3-1 you don't necessarily need a DM but there are going to be times where we play with a DM and 2 midfielders in front of him, as Jose said he sometimes likes 2 in front of the defence and a #10 or a sitting player and 2 midfielders. If we do stick with 4-2-3-1 which (we probably will based on our squad personnel) then signing Matic for 40m or whatever would be useless as he wouldn't really feature again because you don't always use a DM in a 4-2-3-1 and then if we are to play with a DM why spend 40m a player who is inferior to a player we already have in that position?
-
No. He was totally different from Lampard. Most complete midfield player of the last 10 years in my opinion.
-
Matic is a decent player, playing in a decent team in a decent league. Mikel is a better player plus hes one of the best DMs in the PL. Matic still a bit to go before we can consider him better than Mikel.
-
I cant see us going for an inferior player to Mikel tbh. Mikel isn't even getting minutes for us yet so I doubt we'll be signing Matic any time soon.

Hes playing the #10 role for Everton this season. We along with United were linked with him after that game vs QPR. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/chelsea-are-ready-sign-everton-wonderkid-1701468

Why does everyone think Willian is a winger? He played AM at Shakhtar for god knows how many years....
-
If Moses continues his pre-season form for Liverpool then he will be a massive player for them this season. He'll get a lot of games on the right now as they really lacked a right winger.
-
Barkley is going to be one of Everton's best players in the future. What a talent he is. Looking at him now in comparison to the first time I seen him play (game vs QPR 2011/12 season) hes bulked up a lot, hes got himself fit and over his injury problems. Being fit for England's u21s and Everton is a big plus for the both of them. Big plus for himself being fit too. Still 3-1 Chelsea is what I reckon.
-
He sounds like Lamps.... so much
-
He played minutes against Cardiff because I remember seeing him put this brilliant ball in across the 6 yard box and Everton had nobody there haha, I think its fair to say what Martinez said about Deulofeu is 110% correct, he needs gradual minutes to get used to the physicality and pace of the league.
-
Naismith is one of the least talented players I've ever seen come out of Scotland lmfao. Should have kept McFadden and his dodgy injury record as opposed to signing Naismith....

Out of the members in the poll, I chose hjperdeath who posts a lot of great analysis stuff on here that is very interesting. All the rest that have been nominated are good posters and good people so it will be tight! -
He should have just named it Zlatan: I fucking despise Guardiola
-
Isn't Ruben Loftus-Cheek not meant to be getting some sort of crazy wages and bonuses despite not playing a competitive game?
-
Is he the young guy playing at PSV? Scored a hattrick on his debut? Sounds a good talent, obviously not seen much but I'm hoping that he will play against us tonight at some point so I can get a look at him!

Lampard was top scorer in the league for us that season... People like myself who don't particularly think Sturridge is that good don't go around supporting Torres saying hes amazing etc etc, we just don't think Sturridge in particular is the player we need to lead our attack. I'm not saying Torres is but still. What has Sturridge done that Rooney, Falcao, Cavani, Zlatan or Eto'o have? Sure he won the Champions League here (not featuring much after the group stages and that Napoli game) and the FA cup but players like Rooney, Falcao, Cavani, Eto'o and Zlatan have won a shitload of titles domestically and in Europe. Players like Rooney, Falcao, Cavani, Eto'o and Zlatan have also scored a shit load of goals where ever they have gone, they have established themselves where as Danny is still in the process of doing that. There is more chance of a well known goal scorer like Zlatan, Rooney, Falcao, Cavani coming to Chelsea leading the line scoring 20-30 goals as opposed to a 22 year old English man who had a good half a season loan spell at Bolton, a decent half a season at Chelsea and a good 15 games at Liverpool.

Probably the difference in our style of play and the fact Newcastle effectively built around Ba. Newcastle play much more direct than what we did under Rafa as well.
-
Hes in the CL squad, Essien isn't. Surely Jose is gonna give him some fucking games!
-
Can't see us moving for him this season. Maybe next year, but not this year.

It gives Arsenal a much needed boost even though they are still short in defense, central midfield and upfront. Ozil is one of the few players who you can say is world class these days. Last season he was very disinterested at times in games for Real Madrid but hes very much in my opinion the best and most unique number 10 in football right now. He has 92 assists for club and country since 2010, more than anyone else. It wont make them title contenders I'd say but they will have more chance of top 4 if Ozil has a productive season.
