That is some of the worst goalkeeping I've ever seen.. wow

If we win this is it fair to say we can get the champagne out already?

Patrick Bamford has never played in the PL, which is the only concern I have with him playing for Chelsea next season. Looking at what Manchester Utd did with various players like Cleverley and Welbeck in the loan market, was quite impressive and the right way to do it in my eyes despite the both of them perhaps not hitting the heights originally expected but both are decent level PL players and have played regularly in the PL for so many seasons now. Tom Cleverley: -played for Leicester in League 1 in rsecond half of 08-09 season, -played for Watford in Championship 09-10 season, -played for Wigan in the PL full 10-11 season, -returned to United and played there until 2014 before going on loan to Villa. Danny Welbeck: -played for Preston North End in Championship in second half of 09-10 season, -played for Sunderland in PL 10-11 season, -returned to United and played there until 2014 before going to Arsenal. I think Bamford could do with a loan spell in the PL first before returning here to compete if he does well enough, its a safer bet than risking a player who without playing regularly in the PL could struggle despite playing so sporadically (which he will here), also it gives him a safer chance of having a chance to play here if he has another successful season on loan in the PL as opposed to 4 or 5 starts and possibly being off the bench a few times depending on Remy and Costa's fitness.

I thought exactly the same when people were shouting for him to get another contract after the CL heroics. He should of never came back to be honest, hes probably still on a big wage and hes hardly playing and when he has, has looked a bit useless. Sure you can say his presence in the dressing room is useful but players like Courtois, Costa, Cesc, Luis who all recently came to the club have also all won a lot to go with players like Terry, Ivanovic, Cech who have been there, got the t-shirt. Give him a coaching role though, for sure.
-
Even if he doesn't finish top scorer this season in the PL, hes been a huge success for us like I thought he would of been when people were questioning his general ability, technical ability, injury records and the fact he'd only had the 'one good season' etc. Added a different dimension to a team that desperately needed someone upfront who could score and also link well with his teammates.
-
Watching that video he has a bit of Suarez about him, nifty player in tight spaces but again I think Icardi has developed more and is a better player for us.
-
Offer them 15-20M plus Cech if hes available in the summer.
-
Think that is what we will see. Ramires playing on the right of the three, to help combat United playing through their left side like they did so well against City and to create an overload in central areas if necessary when we have the ball. Maybe not but I think it willl be Rami on the right, Cesc as the 10, Hazard on the left with Mikel-Matic/Zouma-Matic shielding the back four.

The quality of opposition is good for a pre-season tour but again its the location. Some coaches (van Gaal last season especially) went on about the pre-season travelling causing issues in their teams and I feel the same.
-
Papers are full of bullshit aren't they. We'll be lucky if we get 25M for Oscar at this rate too....
-
Its nothing to do with that. All the travelling, it has an effect on the players, its pointless really, all it is is a money gainer for the club we can play top teams at home or in more ideal locations in Europe or even in England which doesn't have as much of a toll on players due to travelling. Also I live in Scotland Again like I've said above, traveling takes its toll eventually. We can play top teams anywhere, we are Chelsea football club, big teams will always be up for friendlies against us if they are possible. Of course its good for fans who are US based to get a chance to see their team but I think its more for the money. Its ridiculous in my eyes.
-
What a load of fucking shite. Do the pre-season tour somewhere closer.
-
Suarez absolutely fucked him twice, wow. That second finish was absolutely class, must have so much confidence to do that. £50 million for Luiz looks even better every time I see him play. Suarez 10 goals in 11 games, starting to look the part for Barca.
-
Little end product? I dont even want to know. Hes a classy player, definitely an upgrade on Oscar. If we can get him it would be stupid not to.
-
As long as he isn't the same as Mutu or Fowler were taking lines, then he is free to come here....
-
Injury prone? Reallly? Hoping to see him Matic and Fabregas play in a MF 3 one day.
-
Chelsea looking at a Belgian partnership?
OneMoSalah replied to Chelsea Legend 11's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Well when you send over players like Piazon, Kalas, Omeruo, Kakuta for a few years then send dross like Wallace and McEachran over the next few years what do you expect? -
100 million plus Bale, Isco or James Rodriguez yeah.
-
Every goal you concede has issues/mistakes. For example the City goal: -No pressure on Silva at all, he is standing with about 10 yards of space, he lofts ball over to Milner who makes run, -Schurrle doesn't track Milner, who provides the assist, means Cahill has to come over and deal with ball, creating space for Lampard to run in to. -Terry doesn't get closer to Cahill to cover the space which Lampard runs in to when Cahill goes to close down Milner, -Ivanovic doesn't track Lampard's run. Goal. So to say he allowed Lampard to equalize is hardly fair when Schurrle could also be mentioned in 'allowing' Milner to provide the cross and Terry 'allowing' Lampard the space to run in to score. You might look at that and go yeah well that's nit picking but so is saying someone not tracking a run, which happens game in game out for every team in every game, is a huge crime. In these big games he will make numerous tackles, blocks, win so many aerial duels, complete so many crosses, not get dribbled by so many times but no these are never mentioned because after 87 or 88 minutes he will make a simple mistake any player would make. Also against Atletico, Hazard switches off doesn't follow Juanfran who provides the assist for Turan's goal.. but no Jose has a go at him for that and not working hard enough in defense and people jump on his back but still want to point the finger at Ivanovic because he didn't react a 10th of a second faster than Turan did to a cross which Schwartzer saved the header from? Cahill and Terry's reactions? Easy to point the finger at the guy who lost the header when he had to basically compete with 2 Atletico players for it, isn't it? People forget when he dealt with Sanchez and Sterling with ease, had Suarez in his back pocket playing at center back when we were expected to get hammered, hardly gave Di Maria a sniff and was wrongfully sent off along with numerous opponents in numerous games. He is the ultimate big game player for me. Wouldn't swap him for anybody.
-
Orcs? Looks like meats back on the menu boys.
-
The guy is die hard Chelsea. People like Terry, Ivanovic, Matic, Fabergas, Hazard and Costa, players with character like theirs are what successful teams are built on. Say what you want about his positioning or his general ability when it matters hes the guy you can always count on and is without a doubt the best RB in the league. Clyne, Zabaleta, not even close.
-
Like Cesc too many touches on the ball today. 3 or 4 touches then a pass. Needs to be a bit more confident and play first time or after 1 or 2 touches.
-
Not really when he takes majority of their corners and freekicks and United generally play a system where they attack through their wings and he got most of his assists in the first half of the season.
-
Courtois Ivanovic Cahill Terry Azpi Mikel Matic Ramires Cesc Hazard Remy Win this game and don't lose v Arsenal and we've basically got the league I think.
-
Solid and reliable. Two words any coach would like to associate with their center back. Unlike phrases such as flamboyant, wandering out of position, lack of concentration... *cough* David Luiz *cough*
