Sulked like a baby? He wasn't in the squad for like the first 4 or maybe 5 league games but he stayed worked hard, fought to get into the squad and did. How is that sulking? He probably had chances to leave in the summer after Jose made it clear Oscar was his number 10. Lets be honest who wouldn't of wanted Mata after his last 2 years at Chelsea at that time? Only a handful of clubs wouldn't like Real, Barca and perhaps Bayern due to the players they already had but sure he couldn't wait to jump ship at the first opportunity he had which is why he left in January not in the summer when it was made clear he wasn't first choice after the Hull game and then the signing of Willian to play ON THE RIGHT WHERE MATA WAS TOLD HE WOULD BE PLAYING BY JOSE. Exposed like a fraud? The lack of respect for a player who was great here is really frightening. Sure he didn't fit under Jose exactly well but still if anyone can't say he carried us for basically 2 years before hand then they need a long look at themselves. A coward? If your a coward for wanting to move somewhere to play regularly then sure hes a coward, Salah's a coward, Schurrle's a coward, Lukaku's a coward, Ashley Cole's a coward, Lampard's a coward, David Luiz is a coward, Demba Ba is a coward... anyone who has left us to play regularly since 1905 is a coward then going by your logic.

Hes been a huge let down for United this year hasn't he? 32M as well was it, crazy really, we signed Costa for that ffs, really happy we didn't get him because even when he has played he's looked out of sorts and although Filipe Luis hasn't been a regular its obvious hes a better player. The argument about English clubs needing English players is gonna rumble on but I'd rather we looked at getting players for a decent fee like Cahill, Lampard, Joe Cole, Johnston, Ashley Cole etc before hand than spunking 30M on a 18 year old full back like United did. Obviously times have changed as well but like we did with Cahill, still shows there is value for money on some English players its just about finding the right ones.
-
Yeah that is true but there are the odd fullback that become wingers. Also a lot of players who used to play center half become fullbacks, I'm sure Gary Neville said this was what happened to him on Sky Sports, Micah Richards was also the same and even Ivanovic off the top of my head.
-
The same can be said about Salah, hes a right winger playing more as like a second striker or something like that but he is excelling in the role. You can't just say Cuadrado was a RB now hes a RW so he won't score a lot of goals, that is the case with a whole load of wingers these days. People said Cuadrado would be an upgrade on Willian - who people say doesn't 1) score enough goals or 2) make enough assists - as he was more decisive in the final third (as well as being a huge difference in quality to Salah and Schurrle) without even considering what Willian does off the ball is vital to the team and that Salah and Schurrle hardly played as often as they could have.

If you cost 100 million doing alright isn't enough in my eyes. Like I said when they first bought Bale, 100 million is crazy for a player who only had so much ability and potential, if they got him for 30-40 million then fine but 100.... Anyway my team for playing PSG would be: Courtois Ivanovic Zouma Terry Azpi/Luis Ramires Matic Cesc Willian Costa Hazard Probably our best team selection although I am still convinced Cahill is a better CB than Zouma.
-
About Mata's level? Well what does that mean considering he was our best player for 2 years straight? Were we not a CL quality team at that time? Of course he's a CL quality player... some people seem to think hes shit now a days that he doesn't play for us but he was playing better than Silva was for City in his first 2 years in the PL. Not a CL quality team but about Mata's level jesus
-
Which still means they aren't a top top team though, considering the difference in quality between them and Real, Barca and Atletico is huge. Its like saying Southampton are the 8th best team in England or Hoffenheim are the 10th best team in Germany or whatever, sure they might be but the difference is huge still especially in Spain. A player like Mata would play for a lot of the bigger teams in England, Spain and Germany. He'd fetch 20-25M easily.

One year contract extensions for players over 30 is perfect, remember when Lampard got his extension when Rafa was in charge but everyone was sitting saying he should get a 2 year deal or a 3 year deal? Why? He was shite the season after and hardly played and was probably on huge wages, one year contracts means we can dispose of certain players if we need to with a bit more ease by being able to not offer them a contract instead of trying to offoad them when they have 2 years to go and huge wages.
-
Everyone else also forgets Cuadrado played centrally like Salah has done in some games for Fiorentina but yet again only scored 3 or 4 goals there in half a season......

David Luiz really is a bitter wanker isn't he?

Bobby Zamora is extremely overrated. To me he's like a taller, stockier physical version of Mini me from Austin Powers as he is bald. Father Ted on the other hand is actually a proper priest first and foremost, he can conduct marriage ceremonies and probably pass for being 57 and bring the boys to the yard without milkshake. Del Boy has a significantly better head of hair. Technically he isn't gifted enough to excel in a major business situation and unlike Alan Sugar is not smart enough to build up a successful rubber dingy company from the ground. We have lacked somewhere that can provide safe rubber dingys as well as somewhere where we can acquire some groceries. And no doubt there will be plenty of "Ryan are you high", "I can't believe what I'm reading" , "what the fuck" , "trolling" and other predictable and overused rhetoric but when one actually sits back and analyse my post, then I'm sure they will realise I am talking so much bullshit right now. So to answer the OP question yes I would like some cornflakes. Sorry I thought we were just posting random stuff about anything and everything. A Costa coffee sounds better than a hurricane too

or third option bobby zamora

Yeah was quite a smart move by Blanc to put one of his stronger headers up against Azpi but even if we play Filipe Luis its the same problem so like you said, stopping the crosses is vital but it was obvious Mourinho was comfortable with PSG having the ball in France after getting the goal (like vs United, City in previous games) but I hope he sends us out to be a lot more offensive and positive.
-
Verratti, Luiz, Matuidi... all three of them had too much time.
-
PSG aren't just dependent on Verratti though, Thiago Motta, David Luiz, Cabaye are all players who can do the same. We concentrate too much on stopping Verratti and then Motta or Luiz or someone will do what he was doing and we will have the same problem. I think we should attack them this game, we let them come at us and it goes like in France then it will be a tough night, I am surprised they didn't get more than one goal that night.
-
Lets be honest, Verratti is going to be too busy being a cunt making cuntish tackles and will probably (...ok hopefully) get himself sent off. More concerned about Cavani and Ibra than Verratti, they had it far too easy in France especially second half.
-
I don't see why we are overly worried about Veratti, 1) we are the home team with the away goal from the last leg, we should be the ones looking to have all the impetus and be on the front foot and 2) hes a good passer obviously but hes known for going for that spectacular pass instead of doing the simple one sometimes.

Diego Costa will score his first goal in Europe for Chelsea. Then everyone will complain because he scores too much.
-
Aye after WHS mentioned thief I do remember seeing you go on about that in another thread a while ago. What a wanker.
-
For the love of fuck do you actually watch Chelsea play? He offers nothing? He offers everything. He moves off the ball even if he doesn't get the ball creating space for others, he holds the ball up, he basically initiates the pressing when we do press because he is the first one to do it or he will drop in a bit deeper help out if we are sitting really deep. Then you can talk about his passion when he plays, Torres would sulk about do fuck all, not even the basics of what you'd expect a 50M player to do but if Costa doesn't score you know your playing him because hes constantly there in your face no matter what, if he doesn't score you will always hear something about him, be it for apparently elbowing or stamping or pushing or whatever but hes always getting stuck in and doing his bit for the team. Some fans love players that graft like fuck and I am the same, Azpi, Costa, Ramires, Ivanovic, JT... all top players to me firstly because of their attitude and willingness to do what they have to topped off with their ability and quality in each position. Jose said we needed players with balls after Palace beat us last year and he went and got one of the ballsiest player out there but no everyone is unhappy because if he don't score he does nothing. Its quite similar with Willian, he can play well but not score or assist but what he does is vital and that's also why Cuadrado has also struggled to get in the team despite many saying he was superior to Willian (as well as the fact hes not done much yet but that will come in time hopefully). We are a different team this year mostly because of this man as well as Cesc and Courtois. Na still complain like fuck though wont we.

Fuck sake we aren't starting this shite again are we? Not slagging the article of mate obviously a lot of work gone into it and that but the whole still hot or not thing, its the same with the other thread about early season form. Costa is human, he cannot just replicate his first 5 or 6 games can he? Scoring 9 goals in 4 games or whatever it was. That sort of form for a guy in a new country in a new team was incredible. People get injuries in a season, people have ups and people have downs, hes played a lot of games without training properly at the start of the season which has obviously affected him because hes looked very sluggish for a while. Not a dig at you mate again, but next it will be an article by someone about Fabregas going back to his old ways like at Arsenal or an article about Ramires, hounding him out the club again like some people where because he got 2 red cards in like 8 months at the end of last season or whatever (you do know who yous are). We are too demanding... especially on a team who has won a trophy this season, top of the league by 5 points with a game in hand and also in with a very big chance of going through to the CL quarter finals or whatever.
-
I'd be happy to get him to be honest, but signing another CM means either two things: he'd be back up to Matic or Oscar would probably get sold because we'd play a 4-3-3, Matic holding with Matuidi and Fabregas ahead of him.

About time someone mentioned scotch eggs in this thread, it was all kicking off but the scotch eggs came in and just calmed this place down. What a time to be alive.

The fact he was meant to be better than Willian and a shoe in for that right wing position made me laugh before we signed him and the fact Salah has gone to Florence, played in his position and scored more goals than he did in nearly 30 games, even funnier. Like was said about Schurrle as well, having a good world cup doesn't necessarily mean much and obviously he needs to adapt but still hes hardly shown much, like any sort of half signs what hes really of capable, has he? Like I said before he came here not the right player for our right hand side IF we wanted an upgrade on what we had, just a glorified Willian because of his World Cup games.
