  1. 100% agree it was a great tackle but because it’s Cahill it should have been a penalty 😂
  2. Should be prioritising somebody like Jorginho over this guy. What a player he is. Absolute baller
  3. Bakayoko is still absolutely useless then. Absolute joke of a signing.
  4. Every time hes played for Celtic hes never done anything of note except of one assist v Zenit. Where as the likes of average/lesser talented, hard working players like James Forrest who for instance is probably having the season of his career as well as Callum McGregor, are playing every week and showing that there is more to football than just talent. Such a joke people thought he should of played instead of Pedro or Willian when they werent playing great. Or that he was anywhere near their level. I'm calling it now I wouldn't be surprised if his loan gets terminated in the summer.
  5. True but I think in terms of a left sided center back in a back 4, he'd be excellent. Plays that side for Napoli, is an absolute monster as well, very complete player. No doubt Rudiger could be that sort of player for him but he is an immense player. Suppose CB is the last place we should be looking anyway, considering Zouma and Christensen are under 24 and both very good prospects.
  6. If thats the case Roman is a lot more stupider than I thought he would be considering he always seems to pull the trigger on coaches at the right time and salvage things. But again we've seen it in the past with Mourinho too regarding transfers. Think Italian media could possibly be over exaggerating it but there is a possibility and I for one wouldn't be surprised if Conte thought that the players we got weren't enough to strengthen the squad/first 11 considering what City were signing and also United.
  7. If we get Sarri he'll be one of his first choice targets I'd imagine. He says he has no say at Napoli but I bet any money he'd take him in a heart beat.
  8. ...but his team plays that vibrant sort of football (although some of the stuff we've played under Conte isn't that bad), which is precisely why many people want him but like you've said 0 trophies. Napoli won tonight, meaning title race is well and truly on but they've choked in the past towards the latter end of the season. As mentioned above hes still quite inexperienced and maybe Napoli aren't as financially well off as others so it could be a gamble that would pay off if he were to spend more and mould the team his way but I think Allegri is a safer pair of hands, hes always seemed to get Juventus to play excellently in Europe and progress to a certain round where Conte couldn't get them to. They aren't particularly fixed to one style of football either and tactically flexible as Allegri seems to switch from playing with a back 4 and wingers to a back 3, wing backs and second striker depending on some games although I think theyve been playing with a back 4 more often than not this season. Not saying that means Conte is a worse coach than Allegri, think that the Euros with the Italian NT showed a lot of people that Conte is an exceptional coach, think many people were concerned with the fact he'd only achieved success at club level in Italy where Juve were the best team but hes shown here too that he can work miracles with limited players like Moses, Alonso, Luiz, Pedro and has improved the likes of Kante. Azpilicueta, Willian in some aspects of their performances.
  9. Nope hes not got a chance haha. Morata every time he plays he gets chances, just needs that bit of ruthlessness that will come hopefully as he continues to mature as a first choice striker. He is maybe 25 or whatever but this is his real first season as the leading man in all honesty. He will be seeing Giroud coming up with the goods in games and putting the pressure on Conte to play him so he will need to get that about his game but like you said, scored but still there are plenty of moans.... not had a bad season, its a long term contract he signed so I have no doubts that he will be more ruthless next season and he hits 27,28 will be a very good striker for us. His general play is good so its not like he doesn't contribute even if he doesn't score some games. People seem to take that for granted but we also need to remember hes a different style of number 9 to Costa, who was more experienced, much more physical and aggressive who was also ruthless in front of goal.
  10. Totally deserved. Think hes been the best player in the PL this season without a doubt. De Bruyne maybe close but think Salah has been so much more consistent he scores or assists in basically every game.
  11. To be fair Barca are going to win La Liga unbeaten by the looks of it as well as having won a Copa Del Rey. Replacing your coach, losing Neymar and the new guy goes and does that? Would be an extremely odd move, plus Conte isn't suited to them I don't think, hes a top manager yes but his philosophy and style isn't exactly what you'd associate Barca with although he'd do a good job there anyway. I think quarrels with Messi and Pique won't hinder Valverde in the long run, the same happened to Enrique and he went and won a treble about 5 months afterwards then a whole lot of other trophies including La Liga again the next season as well as FIFA World Cup, Supercup and all that other things.
  12. He has overshadowed Cesc for months now in my eyes. I think its scary how good the wee guy is, like I wasn't 100% sure when we first signed him because I thought maybe he would of just had that one really good season like we seen with Mahrez but my god, he is top top class. Only had 2 seasons but his consistency has rarely dropped and he is becoming more progressive as a midfielder, looking forward more, getting more influence on the ball and I think that article is right where it says Conte has been helping him improve because Conte was saying it almost every 2nd or 3rd week last season that he could always do more and now Kante is. He is one of the best CMs in the world for me.
  13. Cant wait for the next manager to come in, do good in the first season then have a poor second season... rinse and repeat again with all the "its the managers fault". To be honest, 1 PL title when nobody fancied us and if we win the FA cup this season, it looks a hell of a lot better for Conte in trying to get his next job than it does for us all things considering the disjointed way the club is run regarding transfers and the whole short term mindset that is quite clearly the only way the guys upstairs are thinking. The club needs to take a look in the summer and go for someone who they are going to back to have that sort of trust to be able to say about only the players he wants and the philosophy he wants to instil. Our youth system have been thriving for years, not one has been integrated into our team and I think that is purely through the short term pressures of win the league or get sacked/revolving door we've had for years although it has been successful but its not sustainable forever. Need to be more ambitious in the transfer market as well. I think Giroud has been a breath of fresh air for us, if he was a player that Conte asked for or not specifically I don't know... Hazard played brilliantly today (could of done with that sort of performances in the bigger games just after the turn of the year). Strange to think we were second or third last year and in a matter of months the whole season has gone pear shaped regardless of getting to the FA cup final. Still think Conte will go in the summer, which is a shame because I think hes a top coach. Hopefully we can sign off his reign with a strong finish and beat United to win the FA cup. Brilliant post mate. 100% agree.
  14. Why the fuck did Hazard not shoot there? Ffs lol
  15. True but again it’s not the squads really it’s the way the club is run. Change comes from the top. AVB wanted to change Chelsea and wasn’t given the chance to offload players to get others he wanted Falcao, Hulk, Moutinho for example he wanted everyone of them. If the club lets the manager mould the squad okay yes we have every chance with a younger head but not a chance it will happen.
  16. Think its about time hes given a shot here. Fair enough hes only playing in Holland but hes had what 2 and a half seasons seasons there and has like 30 goals and 15-20 assists IIRC.
  17. Be nice to get a look at Emerson for longer than 10 minutes. Hopefully he seizes his chance because he hasnt played a lot. Hopefully Giroud starts but can see Conte going for Morata.
  18. Hes going to make a career out of being a box to box midfielder (whether its here or not who knows?). He lacks the necessary discipline to play as a 6 I think which is evident to see since the turn of the year when he has played but he showed against United when we beat them in the first match that he could be a good box to box player.
  19. next big thing? havent we been there and done that with AVB in 2011? Its a bold move again but wont happen because the club will panic and not back the manager. Also David Wagner? No chance.
  20. Its because the amount of goals hes scored from his position. Cant be any other reason, hes a good player but team of the year maybe a bit much but in all fairness look at the top teams: Delph playing LB for City every week for months because of an injury to Mendy after like 3 weeks, Ben Davies for Spurs due to Rose's fitness, Ashley Young/Luke Shaw for United, Kolasinac or Monreal for Arsenal, Andy Robertson for Liverpool (I really think he should have been in contention though, as a Scotsman its great to see hes grown into one hell of a player, he played basically non professionally when he was 17/18 now hes playing CL football in the matter of like 6 seasons)... its hardly an outstanding pool of competition. At the likes of Southampton, Everton, West Ham who everyone probably expected to do quite well this season... the likes of Bertrand, Baines, Cresswell.. theyve hardly had good seasons I mean just look at the state of Southampton and West Hams defensive records as it stands.
  21. Still he'd be an improvement on watching Bakayoko roam about aimlessly, Cesc get waltz past by players who are slow although even he makes them look fast and Drinkwater is solid enough to play some games but out of his depth in others. 28 or 29 or whatever, he still had plenty in him to give regardless of what people may have thought, which he has shown for United. Shit results or not it was not a football decision, purely a money one although the club probably helped him make up his mind by even enticing an offer from United in the first place.
  22. Still if half the team matched the effort of those two as well, we wouldn’t have been so shit.
  23. The thing was though that he apparently wasn’t good enough for them and wasn’t for us based on that but he’s always done well when he’s played. Okay the goals haven’t come come as many hoped but he’s always performed. He wasn’t. Jason didn’t say this either but many members had slagged the signing of him at first but I think like I mentioned up there his skill set suit the team and performances have always been good in my eyes. I think as well he appreciates the chance to be here you can see the effort he puts in. Not that he perhaps didn’t at Arsenal but it’s easy to see why he became so disillusioned there with them signing Lacazette and regularly playing for only 10 minutes most weeks.
  24. Great performance. Surely shut the whole “he’s a Arsenal reject” clan up too, in all fairness he’s maybe not played as regularly as he might have hoped but when he has played he has done well. His skill set is underrated particularly with the loss of Costa in the summer having a brute strength where he can hold it in.
  25. Morata was pretty good the last 2/3 games I felt? Dont think im the only one who thought that either. A man without a soul? Aww cmon. If that’s the case you could argue the team has been playing like a team “without a soul” except Kante over the last few months.
