Can't believe what I'm reading in here... N'Zonzi? Really!? I just want one superstar/world class signing along with a couple of very good options at the level just below. A Griezmann/Bale/Reus level attacking player along with Schniederlin and another striker. Have this bad feeling that we won't make a single marquee signing, though, and will simply freshen up the options we have in the squad. Just get players who will give competition to our current first XI. Would be a mistake doing so as well. We need to push on and not remain still while United/City/Arse spend £100m or more each.

Oscar doesn't have the pace or technical ability to be a top wing player. He's not able to burst along the touch line, beat a man, and swing in crosses like a top class winger does.
-
Better than what Arsenal, Liverpool, or Everton have. Surely too good to be a backup.
-
Was untouchable today. When he's motivated and up for it he's behind only Messi for me in terms of pure entertainment. Days like today just make me think "fuck me, I wish I could do that!" He deserves to have another player of his quality on the opposite wing next season. That in my opinion will allow him to take the next step in his evolution and add more potency in front of net. He'd be even more free to express himself without having to beat 2-3 men that are marking him.

Imagine Hazard or Matic tearing an ACL or something in a match like this. Pretty absurd that we agreed to a friendly a week after the season ends.
-
Watch Cuadrado score now...
-
Will forever remain my favorite Chelsea player.
-
We're still after Rooney, you sillies.
-
Wish we could just have a solid blue shirt with no stripes or multicolored sleeves and collars. Makes it look too busy and sloppy.
-
Agree that we should avoid. Just have the feeling he'll be a bust. Maybe as an absolute last resort. He'd be a good signing for a club like Liverpool who are cheap and looking for value and can't afford to target the highest calibre of player.
-
Yep. I think if we offered £30-35m or so they'd sell just to get rid quickly and reinvest the cash.
-
Remember him being fantastic earlier this season but haven't heard his name mentioned once in months it seems like. Did his form just fall off a cliff or has been injured long term?
-
Cech + £40m for Sanchez. Then we can make a deal, Arsene. Otherwise, fuck off.
-
Is goal scoring really what we'd be asking of him, though? For me, Sterling would be in there to cause chaos in and around the box like he's been doing for the past couple of seasons. Teams wouldn't be able to load up on Hazard any longer. Sterling's pace, movement, and dribbling are off the charts and defenders constantly have to account for him. He'd draw players away from Hazard and Costa. He wins loads of free kicks in dangerous areas and is the second most fouled player after Hazard. That's a valuable asset when you have Fabregas in the side. We'd be absolutely ridiculous on the counter as well. The signing makes perfect sense in a lot of ways but the price is what will put us off in the end. City will likely be willing to go all out and give Liverpool £40m+ and £150k a week to Sterling.
-
Yaya I'd love but it's impossible. Zero chance City would hand us the title by selling us Yaya.I'd rather sign a long term JT replacement than a short term one. Think José probably thinks the same and will target Stones instead. Ibra wouldn't come here and sit on the bench. He's still capable of being the main main just about anywhere and will be on massive wages.
-
So we'll go against everything we stand for and sign 3 30+ year old players?
-
He can go on loan back to Atleti when we sign Griezmann from them.
-
Wouldn't call them a feeder club or small club, but rather a stepping stone club. Similar to Spuds or Everton. Where players go because they know they won't play every week at a top club but know if they do well enough at a second tier club they can get a big move. This is why Liverpool will never attract a ready made star player like all their fans are calling for. As soon as one of their players get good enough they want to step up to a better club.
-
So have we still not got confirmation on which matches he misses? Does the a Community Shield count or not?
-
Guess I'm one of the few who wouldn't say no to him IF we can't sign Griezmann. So long as we also sign a top class midfielder as well.
-
Same. United would be annoying but not all that bad because he's not an upgrade on De Gea. He wouldn't make them a better team if we're being honest. I could live with it reluctantly like with Mata.Joining Arsenal is unforgivable in my opinion. I fucking hate that club more than any other and he instantly improves them significantly and directly damages our own chances of retaining the title. I wouldn't stand for it if I were José.
-
Arse or City. Don't know if I can see Arse spending huge money for someone who isn't even a clear upgrade on what they have. City will overpay for him out of desperation and he can take Nasri's spot. Doubt we'd be interested at the prices being mentioned.
-
I'm now hearing that the Community Shield doesn't count towards his ban. What if our first two matches happen to be against top teams... Fuck.
-
Surely, SURELY that's only worthy of the standard 1 match ban? Why are people mentioning 3? That would be ridiculous.
-
Most hilarious red card I think I've ever seen. He better not get a 3 match ban for that, though it's the anti-Chelsea FA we're talking about here. As for Costa, José spot on earlier in the season when he said that every time he plays the opposition will try and try all match to wind him up and try to get him sent off. Exactly what's happening here.
