He's constantly in and out of their team. Van Gaal is trying desperately to show the country that he's a genius and keeps tinkering with the system and Mata doesn't always play where he should.I DO think our current set of players would be perfect for Mata in an attacking sense. Pacey, direct runners in Hazard and Cuadrado on the flanks for him to release and (as we've seen with Cesc) he'd have Costa's fantastic movement in front of him to play pinpoint through balls to. The problem, obviously, is that having both Cesc and Mata in the same team we may get slaughtered in midfield defensively. Could work against small teams, though.

I knew I wasn't hearing things when I heard him say that a couple of times! He did say that!Shocked that none of the press there picked up on that. Otherwise there would be 100 front pages filled with it.

Really? There are a handful of #10's in the league I'd have over Coutinho. Özil, Eriksen, Silva, Cazorla and Mata. I'd love to just see what we'd look like with Mata back in his natural position here.
-
Eh, I disagree. Tidy little player who's fun to watch but I couldnt see him working in our team.Eriksen I'd have, though. If Özil hadn't gone to Arse I'm sure he'd love to work with José again. In fact, if you asked Özil himself privately and off the record he'd say he'd join us in a heartbeat.

He's even MORE inconsistent than Oscar and is a terrible finisher.

Would anyone be truly upset if we cashed in on Oscar for big money (£35m +) and replaced him with a genuine, creative, natural #10? Do you think we have enough hard working, industrious players in the team already that we can afford a more attack minded player there? It's tough for me. I really, really like Oscar and know he's capable of so much more but how long is it going to take? He's got the odd fantastic match in him but goes missing far too often for a player in such an important position for a top team. The problem (if you can call it that) with potentially getting rid of him is that we have Cesc in the middle of the pitch who, let's be honest, isn't the quickest or most athletic. If we had a prototypical #10 in place of Oscar it could leave Cesc too exposed and as we've seen quite a few times this season, athletic or pacey players can run by him quite easily. He benefits from Oscar harassing and pressing players defensively and allowing him more space offensively. Would we be a worse side if we replaced Oscar with say an Eriksen or Mata ( ) type? I sort of think José would feel we would be and hence Oscar won't be sold any time soon.

Wonder if the Dortmund fans would hate him and disown him if he decides to leave if the get relegated. Will they accuse him of abandoning them or will they be happy for him?
-
Thank the lord that Cesc is fit. I'd take him off at half time or by the hour mark if we're out of sight.
-
Don't think I've laughed harder at a José press conference in a while. Very, very cranky and justifiably so.
-
Probably as devastated as Hulk was when he was linked with a big club every window and no bids ever came in.
-
May not miss him too much against Villa, but we'll need him against an Everton side who have the quality to beat us.
-
All of our last 3 big signings (Costa, Cesc, Matić) have hit the ground running in spectacular fashion. If Cuadrado does as well we're in for a treat for the rest of the season. I'm so excited to see the variations José will put out. So many options and possibilities!
-
Hopefully he doesn't reign himself in and play conservatively for his first few months here. I want to see him dribbling opponents and expressing himself right away.
-
You guys have to remember that most of these idiot journalists never watch anything but English football. Some of them have almost certainly never seen Cuadrado play.
-
Hazard and Cuadrado on opposite wings. Fuck me!
-
Look forward to watching him tear it up over there. Later, Andre!

Filipe Luis has nicknamed Schürrle Albino on Instagram.

LOL @ all the opposition fans saying this deal is dodgy and that Roman is paying clubs to take our players to pass FFP.
-
What the hell are they even talking about all day on Sky? There isn't shit happening. They just repeating the same boring 3 stories over and over again?
-
The club is waiting until the deadline hour to announce this one to surprise the 3 Chelsea fans on Earth who don't have the Internet and haven't heard we're after him.
-
I really hope we get Sissoko. Would be the perfect signing.
-
Sounds as if we're fog to bleed them for more than the £20m that was being reported. That's the feeling I get, anyways.
-
What a strange signing this would be.
