As with Reus who's constantly linked with Madrid, it makes absolutely no sense for Pogba to go there (not that that's stopped them before). They could sell two CM's and they'd STILL be set in his position. If Khedira and Illara are sold they still have two world class midfielders in Kroos and Modric there. Even those idiots wouldn't spend £60m or whatever on a player in perhaps their strongest position, surely? Guess I wouldn't put it past them. I honestly think we're the best placed club to sign him. PSG would be a side step, perhaps even a step down, can't see him going back to United, and City are a nothing club who will be making yet another managerial change and rebuild probably. We on the other hand already have the world class manager in place and a mature, ready made squad that will likely come off of a league winning season. Shockingly, I can actually see Arsenal being our biggest competition for him. He'd continue in their recent tradition of making one superstar signing per summer. French manager and he plays in a position they've desperately needed to fill for ages.

Panic stations if we lose/drop points here isn't it? I can't imagine us losing to these. Not with what's at stake and basically a full week to rest up and prepare. We MUST win all of these matches against the small teams we have remaining in order to allow a slip against one of the big boys.

Having 6 days until the next match should hopefully do him a world of good. His play since the new year is all the evidence you need to reaffirm what many of us here have been saying for a while: that we 100% need to sign another top class midfielder. Cesc simply doesn't have the stamina and fitness level to last a whole season as a 90 minutes once or twice per week player. Our problem this season is that we have no one else in our team who can do what he does. He doesn't play and the whole dynamic of our team changes. Even if we don't spend astronomical money on someone like Pogba, we need someone of high quality.

This is what I'd go with as well.

He can look like an absolute tank some times and others like today he can look like a lower league player. Needs the Cahill treatment. Bench him for a match or two and get him desperate to improve.

Looked a level above our midfield players today. I'd have him here in an instant. Could be a great option in the summer. Bossed us today. A point was a fair result in the end and not the end of the world. City will now have renewed hope and Arsenal will start to believe that they have a serious chance to claw us back and nip us to the title. I expect plenty of rotation for the next match. Surely José will finally relent in that regard. Also, how bad has Cuadrado looked for us?
