  1. Can’t see any chance at all that we bring forward a move for any attacker this month. There’s no place in the team right now. And no midfielder of the caliber necessary will be up for sale midseason.
  2. Seems Jacquet is getting hotter and hotter. I still think this is an incredibly risky bet when the last thing we need in our back line is another risk. It’s hard to imagine anyone coming in and not being better than Tosin or Badiashile, but is this 20 year old kid with ~30 top flight matches under his belt in Ligue 1 what a team that’s super naive and all over the shop needs? Surely not, right? Should be going for Senesi, ride it out until the summer when we can clear out Tosin, Badiashile, and Disasi, and THEN either go for a young CB like Jacquet or assess Anselmino and Sarr.
  3. Dreadful performance overall in pretty much every area of the pitch. The only 2 players who I thought were genuinely good were Sanchez and Trev. Caicedo and Enzo were alright and Garnacho and Neto flashed in spots. But it was almost effortless how easily Brentford ripped through us and should’ve scored 4 or more. We could’ve scored a couple more ourselves, but still, not good enough. On an individual level, I’m starting to get really worried about Palmer. I don’t know if it’s because he’s super frustrated with himself that he can’t play to his standard due to the groin injury or what, but his body language is awful. He looks a million miles off the pace. He’s not ghosting past players for fun like he always did, he’s not getting into dangerous areas and wreaking havoc, and he’s not scaring anyone at the moment. Maybe he should be shut down and told to have the surgery.
  4. Never mind scoring again, we don’t even look like we’ll be able to create a chance. Feels like we have barely had a kick all second half.
  5. Whole team looks dead on their feet. This is so embarrassing. It’s like we’re trying to lose and have given up.
  6. Feels like Palmer and Jana Pedro have barely had a kick all game.
  7. We could legitimately have conceded 5 here today so far. At home. To Brentford.
  8. Tosin is almost ALWAYS out of position in open play. And then he’s so bloody slow that he can’t recover. All it takes is one simple pass through and he’s dead every time.
  9. We’re being dominated at home by Brentford. They’re playing the much better football and creating chance after chance. Our best player again completely invisible.
  10. We’re shocking defensively, ffs. So lucky Brentford can’t finish today or we could’ve conceded 3 already.
  11. Tosin has been awful since minute 1 once again.
  12. Tosin starting another PL match… No Estevão even in the squad…
  13. Since there haven’t been any real links with our current CB’s going this month I’m wondering if the plan is to move to a 3 CB system for good under Rosenoir. Because otherwise we’ll have too many of them once a new guy arrives. We’re already having to shoehorn Josh in at RB because the CB spots are too crowded. If we sign yet another young kid this month I seriously don’t know what Josh’s future holds. He’d have every right to want out and we know already that multiple huge clubs fancy him.
  14. He’s the sort of signing that would make sense if we ALREADY had a beast of a CB partner here established to play next to him. That’s why you can understand why Liverpool have also been linked. You drop a highly talented youngster next to VVD and he can grow his way into becoming a top player. What makes much less sense is a club who is already naive and shaky at the back buying yet another inexperienced kid. Especially after briefing every journalist that you want an “elite” CB straight away who starts immediately. After seeing Badiashile, Disasi, and Malang Sarr who all looked very promising in Ligue 1 flop badly in the PL I find it impossible to get excited about this if it happens.
  15. No doubt he’s a talent but for right now that’s all he looks like. We have numerous players of that same profile on our books, though. We need someone who is an instant and significant upgrade on who we have. Not a guy who could become elite 3 years from now.
  16. I don’t even think Jacquet looks all that impressive on YouTube. And these are meant to be the highlights of his best moments. Doesn’t jump off the screen as some amazing talent or say to me “damn, this guy instantly benches Fofana or Trev.”
  17. We’ve been burned badly with young French CB’s from Ligue 1 repeatedly and we’re now going to go get another one, huh? For big money, too.
  18. Briefing going out again about a CB. But the descriptions of what we apparently want are pretty contradictory. ”Chelsea want a starting level, top class CB.” In other words a plug and play option. But then they link us to a 20 year old who plays for a small French club where he has made less than 1 whole season’s worth of appearances in his whole career thus far. I don’t care how highly rated Jérémy Jacquet may be, we don’t need another kid, ffs. We need a seasoned veteran who comes in and instantly elevates us.
  19. Ehh, maybe. Diaz is their general on the pitch and Pep absoutely loves Gvardiol. I guess maybe he could move Gvardiol permanently to LB. But I don’t even think it matters since Pep rotates so much anyways so he’d keep everyone happy.
  20. They continue to buy players that turn out better than the ones we do for far less money. Yes, they offer wages that are probably double what we do, but still. Guehi for £20m, Cherki for £35m…
  21. We think the club is run poorly now but this is how we’re operating WITH the huge revenue boost from the CWC & UCL football. What are things going to be like without those things? And STILL with no main shirt sponsor FOUR YEARS into this new ownership. Or any plan whatsoever for the stadium situation. Meanwhile, Todd Boehly’s Los Angeles Dodgers over here in America are going absolutely crazy buying ready made superstar after ready made superstar and creating a dynastic juggernaut. They’re a well oiled machine from top to bottom which again reinforces that it’s Eghbali who is running this club into the ground here and not Boehly.
  22. They’re a team who are serious about winning not only in the future but also right now. Whereas our club hierarchy with their signings and managerial appointments continuously say “just trust us, everyone, we’ll be a great team 5 years from now.” And in the meantime we are wildly inconsistent and nowhere near competitive at the top of the league. What these jokers don’t seem to grasp is that while they sign 50 teenagers and young players it severely risks UCL qualification that we desperately need whilst they learn on the job. You would think they’d be looking at our current situation and thinking “oh, shit…we’re at serious risk of missing out on UCL revenue for next season. We need to go out and get some experienced, ready made quality to see us over the line the rest of the way.” But nah, instead we’re linked with yet more unproven kids that could be great 5 years from now.
  23. City are signing the age profile of player we should be but actually have serious people in charge. Similarly to us who are also linked with a new attacker and new CB, they’ll get 25/26 year old Semenyo and 25/26 year old Guehi whilst we’ll probably go and get some 19 year old CB from France who is a complete gamble. After we’ve already got 2 promising teenaged CB out on loan + one currently playing in Acheampong.
  24. I still don’t see future “top player” when I watch Elliot Anderson. He looks solid but doesn’t scream Premier League contender/Champions League club level starter to my eyes. And as someone else here recently, I wish so badly that these silly Kobbie Mainoo rumors would die. He had a short purple patch of good form where he looked super promising but has done nothing since. United have had a shocking midfield for ages and he can’t even lock down a place there. So why the hell would we even consider him? He’s not better than our backup midfielders currently. If we go big for a midfielder it has to be someone that’s a genuine level raiser. Not yet another good but not great player just so we have another body to rotate.
  25. Senesi would be the short term best option if all we’re looking for is an immediate upgrade to help us achieve 5th place for UCL footy and as a bridge to when Colwill returns. Murillo would be the best long term option for me but feels impossible because he’s so important for Forest and just signed a new deal. They’d probably demand £80m+ for him in the coming summer and turn down any offers this month. Then you have to take into account that multiple big PL clubs will be after both him and Elliot Anderson in the summer which will make dealing with Forest a massive pain in the ass. So unless we tap him up ASAP right now and he asks to come here and only here I don’t think it can happen. I know Estevão is mates with him… 👀
