ah, well thanks for clearing that one up. i don't follow italian football much since the dutch masters left Milan really so didn't know that. -

well if their head coach is involved in it then i`d like to know how exactly that has nothing whatsoever to do with Juventus? -

i reported what SSN`s had. although if Di Matteo was being investigated wouldn't that have something to do with Chelsea? what makes this case different? -
he`s a great player. but we deep in the position he plays..unless CFC see him as a striker for them.it seems like overkill to me and means that good players we already have are gonna be buried under the depth and wasted. i just heard a Cockerill call out of my computer..wtf??

you forgot to mention the bitch slap on Vidic. that i will always believe was the main reason we didn't win it 4 years ago. he redeemed himself in his last game. if he hadn't his legacy would have been great in FA cup finals but couldnt even act like a man in a champions league final.

i dont see even what the honour is supposed to be in retiring a number anyway,if i was a great,i would want future greats to wear my number and to have worn the same number as greats from the past. but that`s just me..it`s not as bad as Prom Nights and Pagant queens ,gun crime ect. but it`s still one of the stupid things that North America introduced that i hope we never follow. 25 wasn`t too bad because it`s a number that isn't that important other than because Zola wore it.

i kept on coming on getting to the Hazard thread and being spat out before i could get to the crucial news on him.that happened twice maybe three times.i didn't mind tho ended up getting a text off a good mate whose a Manc to congratulate me/us on getting him. to be honest i never get frustrated or whatever when it happens,i use to run a site for 8 years for folks with mood disorders. so know how it can be hardwork at times keeping the ship afloat. a mood disorders support site isn't that different to being on here most weeks..

you guys are free to have him if you want...he doesn't do too bad against Italian teams. and well the old lady looks like she may be in the shit again with the newest scandal coming out.

Dennis Wise.

Juventus and Lazio again...(see SSN`s for further details) we sure have been lucky with the quality of italians we have brought in,between them having so many people involved in football there who have no self-respect or morals . we caught lightnin` in a bottle..several times with the gems we have had.

Drogba won the ECL not Di Matteo
Duppy Conqueror replied to marc15050's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
the feeling i had after the match was..thank god ,atlast and if it turns out to be Drogba`s last game in a Chelsea shirt then atleast he has put right the disgarce that he was during the previous CL final. this CL win clearly wasn't down to a single player tho..but if we have to pick out one person to get the credit for this great team achievement, i`ll give it to RDM over anyone else. -
he was doing better than others..but it was during Chelsea`s worse run of results since pre-Roman days tho so that`s not saying as much as it would normally.especially in light of how his early season promise had turned out in the long run of the season. with the examples you`ve given as flexible players they are as far as i can see wide men who moved into a more central role or atleast more fluid roles, not so much strikers who have made the journey out wide and become better players after the move. either way tho like i thought i atleast hinted at last time,we are talking Sturridge so if other players have made the transition successfully or not..unless Sturridge can then he`s being misused and wasted out wide. .
-
we don't have a player who has shown that he can have that same flexibility in Sturridge tho..so the problem remains with him that he is being misused out on the right.

would be nice to see one of our crop of talented youngsters in our youth academy get a shot ahead of him, there`s a few that could really be the long term answer if given a chance. we have Bran as our regular starter for the next 4 years or more anyway. it would make our first team squad look stronger on paper to sign an already established and experienced International player but maybe Kane can be a better option for us in the long term. it`s a risk but with what we already have at the club i`d say it would be a calculated risk with a strong safety net if it didn't go to plan. really for all transfers i only want players being brought in that could either be an upgrade over a regular starter or a player at a position where we have no serious contenders for promotion from our youth ranks. otherwise i don't give a fook if they come free with a bag of maltesers.it ain't a bargain, we just don't get to realize how much we losing till later.

i was scrolling through this thread with a mind to reply to it then i saw your post and it summed up my views exactly.

7m to further hinder the careers of Lukaku and Sturridge by bringing in another knee injury nightmare don't seem a bargain to me.

he`s a fantastic player who needs a reality check . in one sense the fact that he has agreed terms with 3 different teams indicates that he isn't the money grabbing whore that some seem to think he is.. but his obsession with playing a certain position and with a certain number on his back.. hmmm...that`s not good and does make ya think what sort of advice he has been given. i can't think of a footballer who plays for a minor team ever making such demands when being chased by major teams. i`ve really liked him for quite a long time, thought of him as a star in the making..but playing for Lille and Belgium with all due respect to them isn't quite like breaking the Chelsea and Brazil team.so he`s still unproven at the top level. we want to buy him as a prospect but he seems to want to be regarded as the finished product. ya don't get A-levels by sitting a junior school exam, kid.

in a team sport i don't grade players as being the best ever etc....just grade them against players at or similar to the same position. e.g. Mickey Droy was better than Messi... Dimitri Kharine was better than Pele..etc..seems absurd but what i just said is pretty much fact.Droy was better than Messi at fouling tackling and Kharine was a better keeper than Pele. with that point made Messi is the greatest "2nd Striker" of this generation. although i think there are certain factors that would downgrade his performances compared to other greats at his position from different generations. his performances at international level..he may be able to score a superb solo goal against Equador or Peru. but when has he shone against top international teams in a top tournament? Maradona played with a vastly inferior Argentinian team to the one Messi has played in.yet Maradona practically single handedly won a World cup with that inferior team, against better defenders and in a time unlike Messi`s time, when attackers could still get kicked to lumps. Messi`s greatest international achievement was winning an Olympic medal at a sport not many nations have bothered entering. Maradona made it at Barcelona as a teenager same as Messi..Maradona went to Napoli and led them to their first serie A title.at a time when the league was the best in the world. playing season after season in the world football capital of defense, week in week out he still shone. Spain may produce some great keepers but during Messi`s years in Spain how many great defenders has he really faced? i`ve yet to see him shred a top defender. Ashley ALWAYS makes him his lil bitch whenever they have faced each other and that is why he has never done anything to us. anyway, rather than going into every player whose played his position ever..i don't personally rate him the best at his position for his own country let alone the best ever worldwide. a great player. just slightly inflated stats due to circumstances he plays in. i guess the Sachin Tendulker of football ya could say. great, just not entirely as great as advertised.

Farewell DD. thanks for the good memories
-
at what he does he`s simply the best on the planet. the ultimate "fox in the box" of world football. would love us to sign him..aslong as we get the players in to supply him with the ball of course

the thing that would concern me with Capello is his age.it would concern me more tho if we had an owner that would let any manager atleast see out his contract. really thought with AVB he had wised up and had changed his stance but not to be. if it`s not RDB i would personally go for Larry White a.k.a Laurent Blanc but i would personally give a manager alot longer than Roman does. with Capello i should imagine that the 30odd year old brats we have would grow the fook up and play for him. Capello atleast is due some respect from JT for how he stood by him when others wanted to throw him under the bus.

Mata looks like a mini wolverine there but fook it i don't care. Ribery is probably the ugliest player to ever play the game but there`s been many times when i wish he wore Chelsea colours.(not so much now tho..)
