  1. i think he could be great...i see him as being a diamond for us..just needs to polish up what should be his primary role in the team., keeping forwards quiet.! i`m sure he will get to be a better defender in time..needs to calm down a bit more at times and watch those wreckless challenges. he could have been sent off atleast once and in fairness,he should have really in that home game against Man U. he looked great going forward in that game, but we need to remember he`s supposed to be a CB. i got high hopes for him ,i just don`t want us relying too much on him by selling more solid players just yet because i don`t think Luiz is quite ready to be the rock at the back for us at this stage of his career. maybe in a few months he will have sorted out the wrinkles. .
  2. it doesn`t appear that any ransom was paid. they just said he was found after a tip off from a former policeman.
  3. when i was growing up the likes of Juve and Milan just absolutely owned the transfer market. even Barcelona and Madrid were in their shadow. how the worm has turned. they are like the trailer park trash of the top leagues now. cheeky fookers too if they think they can get Alex on the cheap or by swapping for one of their cast offs.
  4. still seems a bit cloudy with the details max. they did say he`s been released so that kind of suggests there was something like that..but i guess if they got 6 people under arrest, they may have swooped on them during the exchange. will update if they say anymore.
  5. John must be estatic now. eternal respect for how he`s dealt with it all.
  6. 6 people been arrested for it . just saw it on SSN`s now
  7. the Prem is a marathon ..we slipped up but we are actively pursuing players that we were crying out for last year. that Man U team was the worst team to ever win the Prem in my opinion, they have bought in well for the future, but i don`t think they have strengthened that much for this season. De Gea will be good for them i`m sure but he`s not gonna be as good for them as Van der Saar was the last few years. not for a few seasons yet if atall.... they`ve got injuries too remember and lost players like Scholes through retirement. is only really Ashley Young who i can see making his mark at the club out of the new signings they`ve made in his debut year. it could go anyway this year i think between us and the Mancs both red and blue.. but i know nobody wins the title before March at the earliest and the enemy will have a slump before it`s done, maybe more than one..
  8. for those worried about Man U`s start. they will slump as they always do at some point,we just gotta hang with them until they do ,then go for it. realistic fan here too. not expecting anything but progress as a club.
  9. think he meant in style of play rather than him being the equal of Xavi and Iniesta..that`s how i read it anyway.
  10. ah right i see..not too bad then.though i`m sure it`s not something that AVB and JT would take lightly. i don`t know if you follow the NFL but the New York Jets QB was filmed once eating an hotdog whilst sitting on the bench waiting for the Jets D to get off..i think in part the Jets seemed to be in on it tho,but it was a big thing for a few days in the media.
  11. may i ask what the Hamburger incident is about? i`m starting to think all sorts here...first off i need to know. is it anything kinky that the tabloids would massacre him over?
  12. Meh, I`m still on the Gus Bus ...he just stopped over there to take a dump in their replica league cup
  13. absolutely! when Ashley went down for those months, that could have totally derailed our season, but he came in and done a good job for us and played his part to earn his medals. Good luck Yury.you won`t be forgotten. i only took his sig down because i thought i was bringing him bad luck last season.
  14. £50 Justin. that`s about 1,600,000,000 in US dollars! well...give or take 1,599,999,930.. :eyebrows:
  15. they`ll have to buy if Alex goes...JT and Bran decent enough but if Bran or JT got injured, the day after the window shuts i wouldn`t be happy with relying purely on Luiz to fill in and be stout in defense..not yet ,i think he`s gonna be a diamond but he needs some polish on his tackling and timing for the Prem. i just hope Alex stays, for this season atleast. i`m a big admirer of Kalas too btw..he seems like a classy cultured CB in the making to me..decent on the ball but not at the cost of his main role,to defend
  16. your "get more babes " comment. ...it`s a football ground, not Hooters. women are equal in our country and only the ignorant uneducated think otherwise. plus i don`t think i was the only one who saw your comment a couple of weeks ago about English people in general and the other comment about our women. so that probably aint helping your case. if you want to hear a louder atmosphere at the bridge, come here and contribute to it yourself or be a bit more careful with your words in describing the fans who do. it`s not as it should be i know..
  17. Albert Ferrer was my favorite but he was just a solid RB 7/10 week in week out..albeit good enough to play for Barcelona for about 9 years before joining us and Spain.
  18. i think if no more widemen are brought in this window then Mata will play more games as RF rather than LF. atleast until somebody else is brought in to play there.
  19. will never forget today..been at the hossie all day because my mate has awoken from his coma and when i get home i find out we have signed one of the best attackers on the planet for about 10m less than LFC paid for Andy Carroll. who needs E`s when there`s days like these.
  20. i voted Borota because he was my first chelsea keeper i saw. i voted for the Cat because well..he`s the cat. and outside the club he gets no love due to one disasterous second half against West Germany in the 1970 World cup. i voted Cech because of the silverware he has helped us win and although in some aspects of goalkeeping Bonetti may be better...Cech is the only Chelsea keeper that has at times been the best in the world(atleast out of the post WWII keepers).i think he has regained that spot at present.btw. with Bonetti as great as he was, he was never near being the best in the world,i know there were better keepers around during his time, arguably the golden era of keepers but still..ya know Cech is a great keeper at a time when it`s not easy being one due to how the balls don`t fly as true as they used to. the last vote came down to Carlo or Eddie Neidzweicki
  21. to use an american football analogy...Arsenal are full of QB`s who can make nice passes, open up things in midfield but they dont have an O-line(defenders) or Wideouts (forwards) we on the other hand have what they need and they have the kind of players we need. Arsenal fail because they have too many of these creative midfielders but no one to get on the end of it nor keep the opposition out when they blitz. now i`m not a huge Nasri fan but i do think he could help us because he offers us something we don`t currently have.can play wide or inside ,is fast with the ball at his feet, can dribble past players, drag defenders out of position to open up space for our forwards and score goals from midfield.. i would personally rather Mata/Hazard and Modric but i wouldn`t grumble over Nasri if only one of those 3 came with him. i do like DeBruyne too.
  22. he was like the illie Nastase of football..not as talented as illie was in the tennis world..but as eccentric. he was our keeper when i first used to go down the bridge. i think he was one of the reasons my dad was grey haired before he was 30...haha. you just didn`t know what he would do next..sometimes he was brilliant, sometimes he`d be in his own world doing his own thing like it was just a kick around in some town park. i`d love to see that film. is funny how 3 of our top keepers have some variation of the name peter.
  23. Tony Godden-saved 2 penalties in one half at the stretford end at Old Trafford..we got our usual 3 points like we often did when we were a yo-yo club.1-0. he was on loan at the time..ended up signing him permanently and he flopped but will NEVER forget his heroics on that day in about `87 Roger Freestone-yet another welsh goalkeeper that we have had. was number 2 for a few years before going to Swansea City and playing something like 4 or 500 games for them. Steve Francis-my memory of him is blurred..not sure if that`s a good thing or not..ha the infamous Les Fridge.let in 5 goals on debut at the bridge..against Watford,if memory serves correctly,it may have been Gordon Durie`s debut too. as Brian Clough would say "young man you`ve played two games today..your first and your last"!
