we paid 21m for SWP I believe but splitting hairs.i didn`t include him nor Chris Sutton because they were flops but their initial transfer fee wasn`t imo overpaying at the time.both were young players,internationals with a good track record with their previous clubs.

for me just replacements for Cech and Remy(if he leaves,hope he doesn`t) Mikel and Drogba can be replaced by promoting players already on our books. a little fine tuning and we should retain our title. don`t care too much about Europe but with a little growth in some areas by the players we already have we have a shot at winning that too,relying on what the winners of the competition always do in avoiding playing all the top teams on the same cup run.

I`d rather integrate RLC into the back up role for Matic. if Matic got suspended or injured and missed games where we may not trust RLC to be defensive enough we can use Zouma or Chalobah..clubs who have been among the top sides in Europe for longer than us don`t rely on a full 24 squad of established players. we want to see young homegrown players make it with us but turn into over protective mothers when it comes to actually playing and wrongly believe that our top young talent should be farmed out to be coached and gain experience of playing for clubs that have different styles of play than us and different agenda`s. where even if they have a successful loan it does not prove they are ready for us until they actually play for us. cut out the middle man,rely on our coaches and integrate into the team those who have enough talent to atleast be given a chance in League Cups,Fa Cups and against the lesser talented Premiership and European teams. we can`t cram all our good young talent into the squad at the same but it`s important to introduce one or two a season or in 2 or 3 years time we are gonna face having to either place 5 or 6 into our first team squad at the same time or lose most of them to other clubs. we have far too many young players to be coached up by ourselves at once and those who aren`t yet at the top of our crop,can be loaned out. but loan outs should not be used as a generic remedy for all of them.

his age is the bigger factor in his over inflated price tag. if you have shown flashes of brilliance,which even I who don`t rate him very highly will admit he has,they make the presumption that he will become better in the future because of showing it so young. Chelsea have never overpaid for an English player. only Liverpool,Man City have really done that. Jose has said in the past that it`s important that teams have players from the country they play in and I agree with that.but I`d rather us be patient with that and either promote our own great young English prospects or wait for other players to become available. I`m not totally against signing Sterling but 50m is what you pay for a player whose relationship with his team isn`t broken. Sterling is doing stuff that if we really want him and be patient,Scumpool will either have to put up with the headache of him being unhappy or accept a more reasonable fee.

Cuadrado is the first player since Torres that when he comes off the bench it feels like we`ve just had a sending off and reduced to 10 men. a turd is a turd tho..don`t matter where it came from it`s gonna stink. Wales haven`t been a top side on the world stage since the 50`s but still produced Giggs,Bale,Toshack,Hughes,Speed,Ratcliffe,Southall,Rush,Yorath,Jones...all among many others were important players in top flight championship winning teams.

it was worth taking a gamble on him for the price. I thought we were really gonna regret Dalla Bona leaving but he didn`t amount to much in the end and he showed a lot more than Romeu did before the injuries derailed Oriols career with us. Romeu is basically Paul Hughes with a more exotic name. we have more talented young midfielders waiting for a good chance imo.

Mikel`s contribution last season was nothing. we are hardly gonna fall apart. we have Matic,Fabregas,Ramires,Oscar for experienced midfielders.if we are gonna totally block any path to the matchday squad by signing somebody experienced to play sparingly instead of giving that experience to the likes of Chalobah,RLC,Baker,Van Ginkel etc.. then we will be making a big mistake.

Don`t worry aslong as Falcao plays good in his last game he will be seen as a great signing.. but his career will be seen as over if he doesn`t have a great game his first game for Chelsea..before his resurrection the following game..

it appears that Jose doesn`t want to give up on the Cuadrado experiment yet but I personally would rather have Salah in our matchday squad than him. we shouldn`t be in a rush to try and replace Willian..he is more than adequate at RW. by all means try and groom somebody behind him but no need to spend big. Salah can play multiple positions/roles for us and we already paid his transfer fee.

shame he`s essentially retired from competitive football still in his 20`s and with no health concerns. the time has come for him to depart atleast a season ago.but would think he could start for a lot of bigger clubs playing in better competitions. no need to buy any midfielders unless somebody higher up the pecking order departs,imo we should just give his place in the squad to one of our youngsters.

I don`t bother with listening or reading the media for any football if they went to college/uni instead of playing the game at any high level or have any connection with Liverpool fc. but it`s not surprising that English based media should talk mostly about English football. if we had a strong enough interest in other nations football related matters I`m sure the media do build up their players and knock them down just as much.

talking about genetics and similar things, I was working with a guy from Malawi last summer and the subject of players with African origins,genes etc.. who have had heart problems came up. I said I thought it was from genes of players who have some connection to malnutrition in their familes,either directly themselves in childhood or to their parents in particular their mothers during time in the womb,breastfeeding age etc.. his belief was it was not connected to that but due to the lifestyle of a lot of Africans being smokers.. I don`t know..he told me he was a Chelsea AND Arsenal fan so I must confess I didn`t take his opinion too seriously after that.. there is something to Cech having not as thick or hard a skull as most people..i myself have fractured my skull twice but although I have fractured other bones..compared to the impact they took I have no doubt that my other bones are harder than my skull.so maybe that is the case for Cech too.

Falcao for a 2 or 3 year period,was playing at the same level as Jimmy Greaves was playing at for 12 or more years. similar in style of play in some ways..both players who sometimes would only have 3 or 4 touches a game but score a hat trick. doing most of their work off the ball.

if his loan is successful it will be in part thanks to Jose using him correctly but I think the biggest factor will be if Falcao can get 100% fit and healthy.

I wouldn`t count out Bamford or Solanke standing out for a team of Villa`s quality if they were handed his game time. they both would probably play more games with their so far seemingly healthier bodies. it`s no contest between Costa and Benteke. I wouldn`t mind us having Benteke,doesn`t really bother me if we do or don`t but certainly not over Costa.
