  1. Their current story is a North Korean cosmonaut has just become the first man on the moon...
  2. The World Cup has come at the worst time for Oscar and Chelsea.the flogging he took in previous seasons and summers has caught up with him and i believe he isn't entirely healthy now.hopefully we have an easy fixture list to start the season and he can be rested for a few weeks then.i know he had games off during the latter part of last season but he needs total rest to get totally healed and back to his best.
  3. Can't be many Brazilian internationals with the last name Kasmirski.. I know..his dad his Polish..should make him feel at home in Englad..
  4. I did add his one year at guigamp when he scored 19 or whatever.. Costa played from a wider position 2 seasons ago.hopefully he will take less time than Drogba did to become a top scorer in england.
  5. He's had 2 good seasons..Drogba had one..two if you count guigamp or whatever the hell they called.
  6. Before Didier..there was Mark Hughes who intimidated defenders by more than just skill...minus the sniper shot acting..before him there was David Speedie..
  7. Arron Duckling..is his mother called Ugly? I'm off to ask a Napoli fan about Maradona..
  8. To simplify his role.it will be as a center field midfielder..there are two types of player that each brings something different to the double pivot for it to work..Matic will be the one doing the shielding of the back 4,breaking up attacks..Fabregas will be the one feeding those infront of him. He's played that role well many of times in the past. He didn't play that role so much from the games i saw him play for Barcelona..tho when they play the same day as us i'm usually in transit coming from our game when they play.
  9. Fabregas should play in the pivot although Oscar if he's in midfield in a 4-3-3 or a 4-2-3-1 can always come from a deeper position..both formations can be fluid and interchange in games.i do not see him as a threat to Oscar's place atall tho. Having a world class keeper,a solid defensive back four and Matic infront of them is ample to keep the majority of teams we face out and let the other 5 to concentrate on attacking mostly.with just chipping in here and there defensively..e.g. pressing opposition defenders attempting to bring the ball from out the back etc.
  10. Either them or dirty Leeds with Howard Wilkinson.either way they are minging..
  11. So much for Jose saying no signings until after the World cup..
  12. I'd rather Shaw but would be content enough with Luis. To reply to the question what would happen with Branislav..simple, he remains in our matchday squad whenever healthy and eligible.Dave will i expect start more games at RB than him but Bran will get enough starts at RB and CB..he will be great cover for both positions and with JT's age and injury history, plus suspensions that is crucial.sometimes injuries are not thought about before they happen but every starter needs a good back up especially since the transfer window era started. Keeping Bran will allow us to keep atleast one of our young stud CB's in the squad, with 3 veteran CB's on the books. Whoever has the best squad wins the league title these days..the days of winning it with under 15 good players are over.
  13. Lukaku,De Bruyne,Courtois and Hazard..maybe it's the media's fault but they could do with some training on how to deal with it. It would have been better for Chelsea to have kept them all at the club last year ,not just Hazard from start to finish and i think we done them a favour in loaning them out for their World cup hopes. De Bruyne was way too impatient and may never reach his potential now,as a great player at a great club..needs to grow mentally. Lukaku and Courtois are due a place in the matchday squad now but not really before.
  14. He's not an obscure youth player we shouldn't need to rely on the opinion of fans of the club he's leaving..he played 8 years in England, mostly as a CM. He played great here.
  15. Thanks for the great memories Frank..i spent more time with you than i have my family over the last 13 years. I was 25 when we signed him and believe the decision to move on without Frank was the correct one for both the club and Frank himself. I'm hardened to things outside of football that make me keep things in perspective so don't expect tears from me ,be they real or feigned for effect when players careers with us end..i choose to remember the good times and look to the future. #CarefreeCFC
  16. I think reporters are seeing us and them having contact, meetings etc...and just adding the names of players they have at positions we are deemed to have a need at...Courtois and Costa seem very likely but even then that's only one signing and some of our meetings could be about players leaving to join them..e.g Torres..
  17. Man city and Arsenal already ruled themselves out (if you believe the reports) Liverpool? Does Cesc really want to live in Cheshire ,nice place but not much happens there or have his house broken into when he's playing in away games if he lives closer to the city. If he comes to England i think it'll be to us.he knows London and can have a great home and still be near the training ground, the bridge and good places to spend his off duty time.
  18. According to Sky sports website..(for what it's worth) us and Barca are battling for his signature..if true i hope Courtois isn't involved in any bid we make for him..but Torres, yes please.
  19. yeah,i keep on thinking he`s 29 now (that he joined Arsenal at 18 instead of 16)...yeah that`s what i think..what i meant was signing someone like him will be better than signing someone like Pogba where those youngsters would see their longterm path blocked. with the right addition and development of our young studs..this window should be the last time we make any major addition for our midfield for a very long time. with the Luiz sale and tv money..Roman doesn`t need to spend any of his "own" money this year..we kicking FFP`s butt..
  20. If we sign him hope he doesn't turn into another Petit.e.g.great at Arsenal, surplus to requirement with Barcelona..does nothing of note with us. I don't like the guy but i work my arse off to be able to follow Chelsea everywhere so as always i'll give him as much support as anyone else unless he proves unworthy. We won't have his best years if we sign him but if he can have the same impact as Ballack had with us,that would be huge. I would prefer us to sign someone like him who is experienced, has a few years left in the tank but wouldn't block the growth of the great potential we have in youngsters like Loftus-Cheek Baker,Swift and Chalobah etc..
  21. He looked calm and composed on loan..maybe JT has helped him but the improvement hasn't appeared as big as Zouma would have to make.Zouma at this stage has shown he has talent but he reminds me of Sakho at Liverpool at the moment.all a striker has to do is get a touch on the ball a split second before him and it's a penalty. We can keep 2 youngsters at the back to play CB and some at RB if needed but i'd rather Omeruo to go with Kalas..Zouma should go on loan to a club in England, let him get used to the slightly faster pace of english football and let another team deal with the bumps of losing penalties and going down to 10 men until he matures as a defender. I don't want us to sign Benatia or any other CB this year,we can agree on that.
  22. With Zouma i think he needs some growing as i've seen alot of reckless challenges from him...he slides in way too often in the penalty box instead of getting the right angle on the attacker and staying on his feet to shadow block and out muscle him cleanly. He's been described as the new John Terry but from what i've seen of him he's the new Mickey Droy/Doug Rougvie. He could grow into a great but despite him having great physical size,he needs to grow in technique. Kalas on the other hand plays like a true veteran, very polished defender..at the start of the season when Jose may want to give World cup players some light work i'd be calm about having him play instead of Cahill. Omeruo i see as being groomed as a RB/CB..somebody to play the Ivanovic role in our squad. something Kalas can also do. Between them to they are fine for the 4th and 5th spot at CB on our depth chart. I expect both to be in our 1st team squad this year. I expect Omeruo to have a good World cup and impress Jose.
  23. Frank has been going downhill for the last 2 or 3 years now..if he didn't mean so much to the fans and the club he would have been moved on earlier than this. He'll be 36 next month..i think he should retire at the end of the World cup and go into coaching..would love to have him on our coaching staff.but he appears not mentally ready to hang up his boots.
  24. I count Branislav as a veteran leader too..plus lets not forget players even just in their mid 20's have had a lot of experience..it's not like they are 8 year olds freshly joining a club for the first time.they should not need guidance other than from Jose with tactics from the practice field,in locker and sidelines and JT on the pitch..they should not need motivation or have it explained to them what it takes to play for a big club. if they are signings they have usually played for big clubs before. I love Frank as much as anyone..i have as far as i recall seen every goal he's scored for us in the flesh..many a happy journey home from a game all over europe and england have been because in part that he has scored a winner or played a crucial part in us getting a good result.but it's really time for us to swallow the bitter pill of sentiment and move on to a bright future. It's better for us to have a youngster fighting to play the odd game for us and learning from the experience than to have a past his best, icon thinking he isn't having enough games. Frank won't be going elsewhere for money like some have stated..he'll be going because he still thinks he should be starting.
  25. Scotland are usually pretty good at youth level..mostly schoolboy level then they piss their careers up the wall as they get older..They haven't had a good squad of Pro's since the 70's and 80's ..
