I watched the match just now and Chelsea didn't look bad. We gave up 5 goals, but still remained confident; that's a good sign. If we aren't getting another winger in January, I would like to see either Remy or Salah on the pitch for our RW because the other two choices are not going to do it. --SOMEONE take the right wing position and create there...or Chelsea need to buy. Harry Kane had a great match. If either Hazard or Fabregas are injured, I'm not sure how Chelsea will expect to win the title. We need another player for the attack. Fabregas is huge for this club right now. If he were any better on free kicks, I would say he's Chelsea's Pirlo. Excellent buy last summer.

I haven't watched this match yet. Did Bentaleb prove he's a maestro in this one? I'm not surprised about the result.
-
it's not even frustrating football anymore. just a load of defending. I still say Chelsea need one more wide player to help unlock defenses--whether it's a RW or a RB. Not to mention a better CM for depth or quality in that area.
-
He keeps trying to hit it first-time too often.

I don't know what to think right now. Put Remy in, start Schuerrle, leave Big Diego on the bench? I watched this match just to see RLC, but we didn't get to see much of him. Seems like Jose knows that Sporting and their manager were very motivated to play against his Chelsea side, but it's not a bad team. Hope we win the next match 2-0 or 3-0.

foreshadowing the departure of JObiMikel?

How would you manage the current situation?

I'll just add that even though I'm not much of a Mikel fan, I don't see any problem with rotating him in more; it's the forwards that need to produce more (aside from Costa and Hazard). I'm still in favor of getting another winger/wide attacking mid if Schuerrle just won't settle with Costa and the rest of the starters. Willian just seems to need a little something (mental?) that he's lacking at the moment. Overall, Chelsea just aren't over this "hump" yet that began sometime back in 2007 and reached its peak with January of 2011 and many months thereafter. Or, to put it less kindly, Chelsea are lucky that Aguero is injured again. -
I can see this problem happening again. Was only a matter of time. Chelsea need more depth and quality for every season, every competition. Who are the sad sacks voting for Jobi?
-
sounds good to me. Oscar needs a break and Matic is out
-
I'm beginning to feel genuine sense of pride in this team that I've not felt for a number of years. The only doubts I have are in the right wing position and depth for the fullback positions. I'm so happy that Remy, Drogba and Hazard scored yesterday. Willian really needs some confidence in his shots --maybe some elevation too. Excellent win.
-
I was thinking the same thing last week while considering Filipe Luis' playing time.
-
I think we might need some power football to win this one. The Drog.
-
never. we hope. we don't want a slump or off-day in a black shirt.
-
actually, what I was thinking was not to make a donation or subscription mandatory to use the site, but make a yearly minimum donation mandatory for keeping one's profile active. It's not a great incentive, but it might work in some cases. Of course, when one's original "free" profile expires and he/she hasn't made a donation after ~13 months, he/she can just create a new profile (even using the same email address). giving you an idea; I'm not expecting anyone to go along with this.
-
Potential transfers become even more difficult to rationalise or evaluate when you're on top IMHO. I feel like Messi will be a central attacking MF or second striker at this stage of his career. He still has pace, but it's not necessary that he use it in anyone's starting XI. It's so hard to know who would be a good choice for the future Chelsea RW at this moment. Lots of ideas/options who are not yet playing at the Big Four (Bayern, Barca, Madrid, Juve), but we just don't know what the future holds for CFC.
-
considering how many people use this site and are members, I wonder if it would make sense to put someone's forum profile in suspension if he/she has not donated at least 1 or 2 pounds in 12 or 13 months. just a thought. It's just a troubling situation when one person or a handful of people must keep something running for 400 people, but I guess people expect things to be free on the web. Bravo Muzchap!

Instead of answering with a link, the answer is "no" because only players from either Wales or England, or those who were trained (as youth) for a number of years either of those lands count as homegrown. I am not sure what Chelsea's next moves will be, but I think better quality for RW and some better quality depth for CM will be the priorities, assuming Mikel leaves.
-
very satisfied with the performance. would be nice to see more of Filipe Luis soon.
-
Good news everybody! Sign him up!
-
Reus in, Schuerrle out.... good idea. I like the Koke rumors too with Mikel and probably Ramires going elsewhere in the future. With those two players and the upcoming youth, Chelsea begin to look very solid. Will need to add depth and youth at fullback positions and another striker somewhere along the way. I can't answer the question on Mourinho being one of the best with tactical play on the footballing planet with 100% certainty, but I believe 100% that he knows how to build a solid squad to compete with the biggest clubs. Best wishes for CFC.
-
or, Chelsea are playing like Chelsea again. The only excuse I can see is that JM changed the formation and it was an away match against an organized side. I watched a good chunk of Ajax v. Barca, which was some very nice football to see. I couldn't watch CFC live today and now I'm wondering how much of the Chelsea match I really WANT to watch. I'm in the final 30 minutes of the match now; think I will skip the rest of it.

Which Players Do You Regret Chelsea Selling?
quickpassnmove replied to the wes's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
I'd go with Robben, Tiago, Duff, Sturridge. -
EPL, Bundesliga, Eredivisie and the Championship are the best leagues to watch in Europe IMHO, but I have enjoyed SOME Serie A matches in the past too. I recommend that you watch some Borussia Moenchengladbach matches to see an amazing television experience with respect to what can been seen through the cameras mounted inside that stadium. But regarding crowds, the most intense crowds are Turkish (especially Beshiktash) and the crowds for the Indonesian national team.

We need a killer right winger. We don't have one, full stop. I don't know what will come next in center midfield, but let's just leave CM to simmer for the moment. Oscar isn't impressing me pushed forward (never has).
