  1. Everton are still twice as fast as Chelsea in the pass and move play, so I'm just hoping that this changes during the season.
  2. well fellas, it's down to Chelsea satisfying the severance pay of Torres. http://www.gazzetta.it/Calciomercato/28-08-2014/milan-torres-ora-verdetto-chelsea-incontra-agenti-90285137825.shtml
  3. the polar-opposite of Didier. I'm doing a serious Eric Cartman here---again.
  4. I've begun an indiegogo campaign setup, but I don't have my paypal account linked yet and I need to leave for the day. Will try later, tonight. Indiegogo is the site one must use for this type of campaign.
  5. Guys, chill out on ManUtd and FFP! United won't make top four this season and I predict their stock price will start to slide downward. Vidal isn't going to Manchester, UNited are NOT going to get a top centre back, United will not make top four. Downward spiral for ManUtd, but you aren't seeing just yet because of their cash from Adidas and the owners' financial scheming. Only a matter of time. I think they're fucked.
  6. Few of those chances or shots were great enough to truly challenge Schmeichel. I watched all the match until the Costa goal and about half of it afterward. I wasn't impressed by anything but Iva and Courtois
  7. Matic will continue to be pressed hard all season and begin to look like Mikel on the ball if Chelsea play this tempo and formation all season. It's too predictable and slow.
  8. 3 stars: Courtois, Ivanovic, Nugent... Chelsea are still TOO SLOW and need to change the damn formation and movements.
  9. goddamn 4231 Chelsea slow play... we'll have a flurry and more slow play
  10. getting rid of Torres is the premium in the deal aside from getting a good, young striker from Italy. the thought about paying too much PLUS Torres the other way doesn't even enter the matter at about 20 million. In any case, Chelsea FC and Jose know that it's time to get rid of Torres, Mikel, Moses, Marin so we can move on to better players and just bringing up some our highly-rated youth players or loaned players. Hopefully someone wants Mikel within a couple windows.
  11. If Fernando (CM) is tenacious throughout this season as in the first City match, they are still the favourites for the title. We already know what lineup to expect versus City this season in CM: Yaya, Fernandinho, Fernando. Better hope it's not Jobi in there for us; will get gobbled-up.
  12. to answer your question, "homegrown" does not apply to Scottish players unless, I suppose, they were trained in their youth for a number of years in England--just like any other foreign-born talent. the natural "homegrown" players are only English or Welsh.
  13. I've watched him 3-4 times. Not much, but both Barca and Roma have been watching him.
  14. Not the right guy. don't want him. and now he looks like he's putting on lard weight. Steven Fletcher is a better lone striker for 90 minutes, but that's just one example.
  15. I'm not convinced by Nastasic yet. But, maybe you're right, City would be foolish, etc. I think it probably comes down to his character and private consultation with Vincent Kompany, who is undoubtedly a good authority on defending, leadership and communication. A defender who not many clubs seem to be focused on is Balanta at River. Not tall, but he's athletic, good with the ball, and can close attackers down like a Koscielny.
  16. My prediction for the EPL season (and you can phone this one in to Talksport this morning, just to piss off North London): "Stoke will finish above Spurs this season. Good luck to Mark Hughes and the Stoke boys." --from Tod, a Chelsea fan in America. 'hello North London. do you know what you're doing?'
  17. loan is a stupid idea. Should be working him into the lineup instead of Mikel IMO. But, forget for a moment that we have MvG and consider that Chelsea didn't make a move for Kevin Strootman last summer. that was a mistake IMO.
  18. fuck the 4231 and play 433. Oscar never looked like an "AM" in the 4231 to me. Both Willian and Oscar would do fine if Chelsea were given some coherent formation and tactical movement every week. I feel I haven't been able to fully evaluate players at Chelsea for over 5 years now because of having incomplete squads and running an atrocious 4231 with slow build-up play and lack of cohesion.
  19. I don't know what is going on with these rumours on another defender, but Mehdia Benatia is, definitively my favourite centre back right now who isn't in the twilight of his career and isn't playing for a club I dislike. He has everything a centre back needs and more.
  20. Are the rumours on Joel Campball true? I wouldn't mind buying him if Arsenal don't want him. Strong, accurate passer, good shot and I feel he will definitely improve.
  21. I still want Chelsea to grab R. Rodriguez before any other club takes him.
  22. Oscar still looks like a deeper midfield player to me. This team looks pretty good, but for Torres, Moses. Maybe we dump Mikel in January and somehow get rid of Moses sooner. Waiting on the GK decision... Salah getting more comfortable. Happy on that one.
  23. I'm not making any predictions, but I am still leery of not having replaced Mikel with a better center midfielder, not having a 3rd striker (just Costa and Drogba), and playing too much in the same style and movement of the 4231. Despite those problems, Chelsea's future looks good with all the young players that might come into the 1st team in the future and having Jose Mourinho as our manager.
