  1. I've watched him 3-4 times. Not much, but both Barca and Roma have been watching him.
  2. Not the right guy. don't want him. and now he looks like he's putting on lard weight. Steven Fletcher is a better lone striker for 90 minutes, but that's just one example.
  3. I'm not convinced by Nastasic yet. But, maybe you're right, City would be foolish, etc. I think it probably comes down to his character and private consultation with Vincent Kompany, who is undoubtedly a good authority on defending, leadership and communication. A defender who not many clubs seem to be focused on is Balanta at River. Not tall, but he's athletic, good with the ball, and can close attackers down like a Koscielny.
  4. My prediction for the EPL season (and you can phone this one in to Talksport this morning, just to piss off North London): "Stoke will finish above Spurs this season. Good luck to Mark Hughes and the Stoke boys." --from Tod, a Chelsea fan in America. 'hello North London. do you know what you're doing?'
  5. loan is a stupid idea. Should be working him into the lineup instead of Mikel IMO. But, forget for a moment that we have MvG and consider that Chelsea didn't make a move for Kevin Strootman last summer. that was a mistake IMO.
  6. fuck the 4231 and play 433. Oscar never looked like an "AM" in the 4231 to me. Both Willian and Oscar would do fine if Chelsea were given some coherent formation and tactical movement every week. I feel I haven't been able to fully evaluate players at Chelsea for over 5 years now because of having incomplete squads and running an atrocious 4231 with slow build-up play and lack of cohesion.
  7. everyone pray hard until the end of the window.
  8. I don't know what is going on with these rumours on another defender, but Mehdia Benatia is, definitively my favourite centre back right now who isn't in the twilight of his career and isn't playing for a club I dislike. He has everything a centre back needs and more.
  9. Are the rumours on Joel Campball true? I wouldn't mind buying him if Arsenal don't want him. Strong, accurate passer, good shot and I feel he will definitely improve.
  10. I still want Chelsea to grab R. Rodriguez before any other club takes him.
  11. Oscar still looks like a deeper midfield player to me. This team looks pretty good, but for Torres, Moses. Maybe we dump Mikel in January and somehow get rid of Moses sooner. Waiting on the GK decision... Salah getting more comfortable. Happy on that one.
  12. I'm not making any predictions, but I am still leery of not having replaced Mikel with a better center midfielder, not having a 3rd striker (just Costa and Drogba), and playing too much in the same style and movement of the 4231. Despite those problems, Chelsea's future looks good with all the young players that might come into the 1st team in the future and having Jose Mourinho as our manager.
  13. Moses just isn't as strong on the ball as I expected him to be after hearing about him years ago, at CP. Not Chelsea material.
  14. If this guy developed the habit of making some quicker passes by spotting space in front of the opposition defence beyond his own line, he would do well enough for me, but he doesn't do those things nearly enough. If he played the same way for Alex, he wouldn't last at United. Yet, here he is, still a Blue.
  15. At this point, Chelsea fans better hope that Matic, vanGinkel, Oscar and Fab all stay healthy. Jobi will never speed-up our build-up play. I don't think Romeu is good enough under pressure, but Chelsa are still very thin on quality in center midfield. This club needs rid of Mikel and Torres badly...... (Moses and Marin too).
  16. wank all you want on the pre-season excuse, but it still looks like the Chelsea that don't play quick enough to break teams down. Hoping for some change in tempo, Torres to fall off the face of the Earth, and maybe a change of formation. I don't see the point in pushing one CM up every time the other team is packing it in; the striker can also drop deeper for possession. Pull them out.
  17. I like Sturridge, but we will see how good he is without a Suarez or Rooney lining up next to him. Lallana and Sturridge COULD work well --or Lambert-Sturridge. Lambert's a very good passer
  18. Hard to say what would be good at this point honestly. Torres probably not leaving and where would we find a decent young striker who is willing to play off the bench? Benteke would have been nice (who is also arguably one of the best all-around choices for CF in the world), but why would Bentekkers come to Chelsea after Costa? seems to me Marin, Moses, and Mikel need to leave very quickly. Afterward, maybe consider someone like Yarmolenko who could be a backup striker, but who is also very capable RW with a left foot. I'm all out of ideas for the moment. I'm certain that Jose has better ideas than most of us at this moment--which feels distinctly different from the past 5 years at Chelsea Football Club. Maybe Ivanovic can continue as striker when Torres is the only match-fit choice. Hope that Costa remains healthy.
  19. If I were in Europe/UK, I would join people to send a message: "GTFO Fernando"
  20. Anyone still want another CB? Impressive young defender at St. Etienne too. consistency will come.
  21. I never wanted him and could not believe when Chelsea signed him for 50 mil. how were his legs (knees?) ignored months leading up to that deal? hard to comprehend. Albatross is a good way to characterize that HUGE mistake. but maybe if Chelsea and Roman will have learned very well from that mistake and Roman remains owner for years to come, Chelsea will, overall benefit from what was learned from this idiotic acquisition in January 2011.
  22. As the guy with the Welsh flag says above, Romeu.
