  1. Good to hear he wants to stay and fight for us.
  2. I don't really care one way or the other, but I believe Chelsea will be far better off with Benteke as the top striker in the long-run. Diego isn't a bad guy, but I have suspicions about his fitness and ability to play in the cold --nevermind his dirty tricks against defenders who are stronger than him. Of course, I would rather have a stronger striker too.

  4. I wish I could have watched Bunesliga on TV for the past few years. I would have improved my view of football as entertainment a little bit. The players that have been on the Basel team have been good; I think they're underrated. Gladbach's manager is one of the more interesting people in management IMHO.
  5. I cannot comment on Baba Rahman because I've not watched der Bundesliga for more than 4 years (while missing my club's triumphs due to lack of television access here). But having watched some videos, he DOES have a great physique and --apparently-- good technique for tackling. Plenty of foot+leg to stick in there too. Interesting prospect. In fact, it's really hard for me to not like the look of him physically and his skills.
  6. New GK, Donnarumma. Sounds like the name on my future Chelsea shirt (if adidas ever make another nice shirt). http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/444954/transfer-news-Chelsea-Man-United-gossip-rumours
  7. This is nice kit IMO, from adidas: http://imgick.oregonlive.com/home/olive-media/width960/img/oregonian/photo/2014/03/-5e651c3ea046f027.jpg http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/product/index.jsp?productId=33449716&camp=CSE:GooglePLA:33449716:18115473:LICENSED&CAGPSPN=pla&CAWELAID=120138600000452720&catargetid=120138600001603954&cadevice=c
  8. Maybe he should knock on Huw Jenkins' door.
  9. you should be aware that if you buy number sets on ebay, they often do not come in the correct size. only 9 inches tall or less. the real ones are a full 10 inches, if memory serves. All the 2015/16 kits are crap designs. finding something more interesting in the sale bin is likely --even if it's a Real Betis shirt.
  10. Rather have N'Zonzi than any of those players in Ligue 1. So, if none of Pogba, Schweiny, Koke, and Schneiderlin are incoming, then who?
  11. I got the same reaction from posters on Morgan Schneiderlin when I said he would be a good acquisition two years ago in springtime. N'Zonzi's good enough too. Schweiny isn't coming to Chelsea, neither are Koke and Pogburr. I would be happy with Schneiderlin coming, but I'm going to guess that won't happen either. Jubilent if Mikel leaves and someone good comes in --doesn't need to be the superstar player on his way in.
  12. N'Zonzi and Schneiderlin are better choices than any mention. N'Zonzi has as much skill as everyone you mention and is rarely hurt --plus stronger and taller. A worthy candidate for any purpose in CM, but capable of being a starter regardless of the competition, I'm betting.
  13. Assuming we do not get Koke nor Pogburr, who do you like for CM? Until I watched highlights from the Stoke match, I had recently forgotten N'Zonzi. N'Zonzi is, for me a good choice at CM: stature, skill, experience in EPL, and full of running. Who else is out there, either in the UK or in continental Europe?
  14. still waiting for him to be miraculously shipped out far from London.
  15. yeah. exactly. don't get too far ahead yourself, son.
  16. I might have fallen asleep in the 1st half if not for Cuadrado starting.
  17. This season's yellow kit is better than any of them. adidas disappoint with mediocrity and garbage year after year across the globe --except for their German, Mexican, AC Milan, Bayern, etc. kits. Colombian kit looks good though.
  18. We'll see how tenacious he is in midwinter next season. The jury's still out on him, IMO. You can scored 20 goals in one season, but can you be consistent, behave, endure the wet cold and get the job done?
  19. Ummm, who might that be? Anyway, I'd like to see Izzy Brown start with Willian in the CAM. Izzy on the wing maybe. Boga would be nice to see too.
  20. Diego can be a tough opponent, but in reality he's not as strong as he wish he was and he's not what I would call "intimidating." Drogba was an intimidating prospect to defend; Diego is not. If I myself were defending Diego, I wouldn't be worried about being overpowered by him; but the dirty stuff: clawing, eye-raking, spitting, etc. would be cause for self-restraint (not K.O.ing him with a right hook). So, yeah, maybe that's an alternate version of "intimidating."
  21. Interesting on the technical question. so far 3:1 for Costa, but clearly wrong IMO.
  22. if we're getting rid of certain players, I'm going to say that a summer of Song, Pedro, possibly Sterling, Benteke and one defender would be wonderful. I'm still left wondering if we would be lacking the magic player in center midfield, but hell, I don't think it matters when everyone wants Pogba and Koke is going nowhere.
  23. I hope I've posted this in the correct area, but if not I ask the moderator(s) to please place it correctly within the transfer section (because it gets the traffic and interest of most people visiting the forum and Bentekkers is a current rumoured target). The only question I did not post is one on match fitness. I think the two are almost equal on being fit or potentially fit in the future although we know Diego doesn't take the risk of contesting balls in the air nearly as much, so maybe he will be hurt less.
  24. My intuition suggests that the mixture of players potentially landing in Old Trafford for next season will compose a superior attack to ours. Center midfield may be their only soft area when they're done spending. Two big back line signings, one striker, perhaps one CM with experience or high potential and it's on for the title. Mueller and Depay are excellent choices. Louis might have that Dutch-German-English mix that could prove deadly. But... Chelsea can do well with the Brazil-French-formerYugos-English mix. I'll be sad to see Mueller in a Red Devils' kit. Sharp player who can finish in every way possible. It's been said that Bayern will keep Pep, so the Mueller story looks likely. Another note: I still like a couple of the CMs that came out of Wigan: McCarthy and McArthur. We have Matic, but it would be nice to have a workhorse similar to that kind of player break into the Chelsea squad soon. Who it will be, I don't know.
