I couldn't help but think while watching Hazard yesterday: "if we had a Hazard physique with a Juan Mata brain and maybe plus 4 centimeters height..." In the bigger picture, I still think Chelsea can pass and move more quickly during some sequences in possession, but Hazard needs to fashion some better chances for himself and others regardless. I'm very happy for Ake yesterday.

At this point, our counterattack blows because Schuerrle doesn't make good choices, nor take on defenders at all. I don't know what Schuerrle is good for unless he gets an open shot on goal. Glad we won, but this lousy counterattack ain't gonna cut it for winning the title, IMHO.

our defending and Oscar/Fabregas need to be the difference today. This feels like a day for losing points --and I wouldn't feel like saying this if Chelsea had a top right winger somewhere in their side. Still feels to me like last summer's signings were far less than expected (vanGinkel, Schuerrle, Willian). Hopefully players step-up today and we get those 3 points. on fantasy football: Di Maria is a goal and one assist every week.

I don't know how Schuerrle will fit into this puzzle.

I tend to agree with Special Juan on Schuerrle.... I can't help but think of Tadic, Yarmolenko, Cuadrado, or maybe even Brahimi when I see a couple of our wingers operating (Willian, Schuerrle). I think the clock is ticking for Willian (in the mind of JM and others). We have too many young players and possible targets, plus high aspirations for this club to not expect more of a winger/AM. Schuerrle strikes the ball very well, and plays counterattack well, but doesn't take on defenders with the ball at his feet nor make the better decisions on build-up play. This is the same thing I saw from him before Chelsea bought him from Leverkusen. 50-50.

frustrating again, but I'm very happy for Ake, J.Mikel, and Zouma. nice effort by Schuerrle, but not quite there. Also, good effort by Salah. What can we say? These guys have not played together before in a competitive match.

Not looking good at the moment for Kalas. 3 matches into the season and ZERO goals conceded for Koeln--and Kalas is NOT one of the starting defenders. So, he's waiting for either someone to be injured or something to be go terribly wrong with the current starting XI.

Good win, happy to have scoring this season, happy to have one of the best strikers in the world right now. Mourinho doesn't know who will be the right winger--as do none of us. RW and CM are things to consider for this club moving forward this season. I don't think this team is even close to hitting its stride yet as you see players on top of one another in front of the opponent's defence. Fortunately, we have Costa and we are scoring. Can't help but say I was thinking about Benatia today, but hopefully our defence improves.
