I've just watched the replay and based on comments here, I thought we had dominated the match and Jackson alone missed 5 sitters... kept looking for them and only found this one header in the first half where he should have scored, and yet I consider heading the football to be a glaring weakness in his game. I honestly thought Jackson was the best player on the pitch in the first half against Bournemouth. Palmer goal came from a fantastic solo play by Jackson where he beat 2 players and then produced a weighted pass that did not even require a first touch by Cole -- so much he simply fainted a shot and then applied the finish. Jackson needs to play but maybe on the LW. He is too good at everything else. He literally made chances by himself today. He’s an absolute hound machine as well. Play him and Guiu together.

I wish he would go back to rotating his squad a bit more, esp. with the attackers., not necessarily the defense. When he did that in the early part of the season, it felt like everyone was chipping in with goals and challenging for places. On the flip side, he has chopped and changed the back line with every game, ever since Fofana got injured. I stick by what I said here. The problem is not that Jackson is in the squad. He links up better with Palmer than anyone else. And the first goal was largely from his hold up play. The problem is that we don't have good competition for goal scoring from anyone else. Guiu? Nkunku? Don't make me laugh. Goals have dried up all over the pitch. It's either Palmer or no one. We need another forward. And before that we need to get a proper CB. Defence first.

If by some miracle we fleece Bayern for £65m, then surely it goes onto the release clause to Sporting 5 minutes after. Can't say I can get behind someone else around that price range. Delap, great, we already have a young run into the ground type in Guiu, not comparing their ceilings but isn't it another work in progress? Just read a post about Tosin being the 'uncle' of the group.. yeah that's a bit of a stones throw from Thiago Silva as the groups older influence.

Guiu has to feel hard done by, I can understand bypassing Nkunku as the chap is, unfortunately, a passenger/shadow of his former self. Jackson just does so well in a situation where you think it's nothing but then will miss three sitters and it's a bitter sweet situation. Better used on the wing.

Enough is enough, Jackson has to be benched. Use Guiu instead for the next few games, unless we buy someone soon.
