That 2014 Germany side didn't have 11 elite players and the same can be said about Argentina's world cup win as well. You just need enough quality in key positions, which is what Belgium didn't have.

Just realised Omari has only one year left on his contract. He would be insane to renew unless we throw massive money at him, at which point we would be insane for the club to do that. I have a feeling it may be best to sell him to Ipswich and insert a low buy back with first refusal. He will need another year loan to develop anyway.By King Kante

I'm not saying KDB isn't great - he just wasn't as impactful as Hazard. No shame in that. Its far easier playing for City than it is Chelsea. They've always had a more talented team than us even when we were winning titles against them. They've just been better managed as a club on an all around level for maintained success and continuity. If Hazard had ended up on Man City or Liverpool - you'd be talking about him as just under Ronaldo and Messi.

Literally all the headlines from that game were praising Hazard and Lukaku. Scoring the decider will always put you in good stead for the MOTM though. Again, against France, Hazard carried and KDB disappeared.

Can only really speak about the game I really paid attention to, Brazil vs Belgium quarter finals in 2018; yes, Eden played well, pulled good counters against one of the weakest RB Brazil has ever employed (he played in the Brazilian league at the time ffs), but it was KDB shooting from afar that won the game. 🤷♂️ https://www.whoscored.com/Matches/1296533/Live/International-FIFA-World-Cup-2018-Brazil-Belgium Ah yes, KDB was MotM in that game for most people (and sites), myself included.

See, that is where I disagree. I looked at Caicedo closely last season, especially in Brighton's big games. Last season against Arsenal, he played this hybrid role between RB and DM and he was absolutely fantastic. I remember thinking, this guy is a total baller. They had so many standouts that game but he impressed me the most. They had a game against United last season in the FA Cup which United luckily sneaked through and again thought he completely controlled the game. He might of had one liBy Stats
