They've spent tons of cash on tons of shit players. They know they can't attract stars so they hoarde loads of mediocre ones.

Difference with us is that we CHOOSE not to spend £40m on players. We could if we wanted to, they can't.

That is a very poor argument!

Liverpool is the 5th club who most spent since 2010 and all they have to show for is a miserable second place on Premier League and 1 League Cup on penalties. That is absurdly low for the 350 million that were invested.

Also, money spent is money spent. If they decided to splash 40mil on mediocre players, it's their fault. This notion they have to overpay cause top players dont normally want to go there is complete bullocks. Just look at how Porto, Dortmund, Shakthar, Atletico, Napoli, etc., can sign way better players for half the price. They are also not the very top tier of European football but they are smart in their business.

In resume, if you spend 350 million on transfers you should at least have a squad who can finish top 4 and push for cups whenever posible. However, all Liverpool was able to achieve was 1 great season due to Suarez and a bunch of flop stories!

What do mean "seriously?"

Sure they spend a lot compared to most clubs, but they can't compete with ANY of the club's above them for players. They won't/can't spend £40m, £50m, or £60m on a single player or a couple of super stars.

Any manager who takes over at Liverpool will be handicapped and restrained by their place in the food chain.

I love making fun of them as much as possible, but they're still one of the most well known clubs in the world. They can attract star players IF they have a manager that players want to play for and a realistic shot at success. Whoever has been in charge of transfers just haven't wanted to put the money in for star players in the last few seasons.

Jamie Carragher: "Liverpool are becoming Tottenham, think they're a big club but the real big clubs are not too worried about them - who they buy, what they're going to do - that's the situation as it's become for Liverpool, even when I was there at the end."

Damning but spot on.

u dont need to buy 40mil players to win leagues and trophies.

as for "attracting stars", thats just wrong. obviously they can. put in jose instead of BR right now, and he will be able to attract anyone that chelsea can attract. same goes with someone like klopp. BR just dint have the pull with him. similar issue was with moyes and LVG.
