The fact that they say the situation is ongoing?

Why because in the last couple of seasons JT's contract has been sorted by end of January, does it always have to be sorted then. Its only the 1st of Feb.

And if there was a new contract for a year....what happens next Janaury?

Ivanovic is 31 and by giving him a contract we can still get money for him by selling if a club came in for him ala Ramires....that Chinese lot seem to want to throw it around.

Totally understand the club saying this. Also saying that no deal is on the table and having John or whoever say that contracts take a few months to get done is a poor excuse.

preferably we'd of done the same with Ivanovic so I can also understand the timing of the leak.

Having the new manager decide is perfect, clean break or keep him on depending on whether whoever the new manager is etc. Plus we should see him playing out of his skin from now till the end of the season more so than we already do.

According to the journalists he actually spoke to, it was not planned, in fact he wasn't the one that brought it up. He was just asked about his future, paused for a second and decided to answer truthfully. In a lot of ways this is so much more like JT.

Look at how United managed the end of Neville, Scholes and Gigg's careers - that's EXACTLY how you do it! But yet again, we shoot ourselves in the foot like a bunch of fucking amateurs!

what message does this send to people at the club? Yeah dedicate your whole playing career to us and we will fuck you out of the door whenever is convenient. After the Lampard fiasco - I thought we might perhaps have learned something - but oh no, typical fucking Chelsea - we learnt nothing and then made an even bigger balls up of the situation. 

So fucking what if Terry is past it - he can sit on the bench and hang around for when he is needed - just having him in the dressing room is enough and a few swashbuckling performances a season will keep everyone happy. Who was that Everton defender who played into his 40's? I'm not saying JT should or could - but he should stay in the family - give him time off to get his coaching badges etc - and then when he retires officially, whack him into a coaching role. We just have no fucking idea how to treat people with respect. 

JT, Lamps and Didier should all be at the club in a coaching role - those 3 formed the backbone of our team - letting them fuck off anywhere then panicking and calling them back makes us look fucking ridiculous. 

Instead of the players contracts not being renewed - the Senior Management Team needs a big fucking shake up - that's where I would not be renewing any contracts. We have no direction, no ideology as a club, the last few windows have been pantomime performances - get them out and rebuild from the Top down. 

Hanging our most consistent player out to dry is just a new low, I never thought this club would stoop to!
