Would be nice to get a clear upgrade but everyone from the manager to the hierarchy seem to genuinely love Sanchez. And tbf, since the United catastrophe he has been solid. I don’t think there’s a chance we buy a new keeper at this point and will wait for the young kid to be ready. Like Sanchez, Maresca seems to really love Neto. He’s a manager’s dream winger in that he’s good both attacking and tracking back. I can’t see us wanting to sell and I don’t think any club out there would be willing to pay the huge price it would take anyways. Don’t think any wide attackers will be on the agenda until at summer 2027. At that point if Gittens for example still hasn’t blossomed and Neto hasn’t produced enough we can look for upgrades.

I don’t think there’s any need to or any desire from the club to bring in another attacking signing until at least the January 2026 window. So all this talk about us still going after these big attacking talents this coming January or even next summer is silly. We’ve just bought Garnacho and Gittens and I don’t think there’s a chance in hell we give up on either of them any time soon. Neto and Estevão on the other wing and they’re going nowhere any time soon. We’ve got Quenda & Emegha coming in next summer for depth already. Splashing huge cash on Yildiz or Rodrygo who I keep seeing us linked with feels like the last thing we’d do or even need. No space whatsoever for another winger. Any and all attention over the next 2 windows should be about an elite CB and another elite deeper midfield body to replace the always broken Lavia.

Confirmed that it’s another long injury. Love his talent, love his personality, love the IDEA of Lavia and what he could’ve been. We would quite comfortably have the best midfield 3 in the league and probably all of Europe if he was able to stay as fit as Caicedo & Enzo and play every match. But he’s got to go in the summer. If anyone would even take someone with his injury record. We just cannot continue with this “play a game or two and then disappear for months” shit for yet another season. I truly hope that buzz and rumor about Adam Wharton are accurate and we go big for him next summer. Would be the perfect replacement.

If we can get Cole back fit and playing like himself again and can stop dropping incredibly silly points to bad teams we have a genuine shot at making this a really good season in the league. Multiple clubs who were expected to be right up there in the UCL places like Liverpool & Newcastle are struggling badly. We really should be making 2nd our big objective. We don’t have the defensive solidity to finish above Arse this season but City and Liverpool both look flawed just like we do.

Liverpool have been shit here. They had been looking much better lately after that terrible run of form but so far here they’re looking old and off the pace. Ekitike has had like 1 touch in 35 minutes.

Garnacho has been solid. Getting more and more settled. He and Estevão should be our first choice wingers for a run of games.

Also, it has gone under the radar a bit how mediocre João Pedro has been after that insane start to Chelsea life he had. I was so looking forward to how he’d do for us in the PL after the summer. But other than a few classy touches here and there he hasn’t done nearly enough. Gives the ball away super cheaply at times, too.

How is it that we as amateurs could see that Neto against a deep block where we’d have 75% of the ball wouldn’t work and that Estevão should’ve started but the manager making millions couldn’t? Neto is someone who should only be starting when he can be used in the counter to stretch defenses. Against super deep blocks and compact teams who have zero interest in playing football he is totally ineffectual.

Surprise, surprise. A horrendous team comes up against Chelsea, parks the double decker, and we can’t do ANYTHING about it.

I’m fine with the CB pairing as they were really solid together against Spuds. But it’s beyond a joke now that Estevão isn’t the first attacker on the team sheet at this point. He creates danger almost every time he gets the ball, ffs. Neto I’m fine starting again the big teams where his experience and work rate are needed. But against sides like this I’d have started Estevão.

If I see another lazy fucking shitshow where we come out at walking pace and allow a dogshit, historically poor Wolves team hang about I’m going to pull my hair out. Serious questions about Maresca’s job if we fail to win today for me.

I was actually a big Tosin fan last season and was perfectly comfortable with him as a frequent starter depending on the opponent. But at this point he needs to be nothing more than a rarely used sub or only play in the Cups. He has been completely found out and is making mistake after mistake. He is shockingly terrible when the ball is played near him and it’s not a straightforward header away. Pure panic. So long as Fofana remains fit he should be the unquestioned starter. It should be Fofana + Josh for me.
