'CARNAGE'

Witness speaks of ‘Wild West’ brawl as Phil Foden’s mum is PUNCHED in scenes which ‘lasted for minutes after video

PHIL Foden's mum was punched in a bloody "Wild West" brawl which rumbled on for minutes after video of it ended, a witness said last night.

Shocking footage revealed by The Sun - and now being probed by cops - showed how Claire Foden was attacked after a group of men called her son a "c***" backstage following the Amir Khan fight.

Phil Foden was caught up in a brawl backstage after the Amir Khan fight

The footballer's mum Claire was punched in the face by an attacker during the frightening confrontation

Claire, 41, reacted after one of the men reportedly called her son a 'c***'

The England and Man City ace, 21, can be seen trying to fend off the yobs - while another man is seen using a fire extinguisher as a weapon.

A witness described the scenes as “complete mayhem” and revealed the fight was actually worse than it seemed. The footage has been widely shared on social media.

He told The Sun: "It was carnage. It was out of control. I've never seen anything like it before in my life.

"I was in the next box and heard all the shouting and screaming so we went out to see what was happening.

"It was crazy. Everyone was saying Phil Foden was there.

"I saw a punch thrown. There was more violence than just what was caught on film.

"Another man got punched after the footage came to an end. He was bleeding.

"It was all kicking off. It lasted a few more minutes.

"Security were called at one point and a lot of people ended up getting kicked out. It was unreal.

"It was like a scene from the Wild West."

The clip, which was filmed in a corridor of Manchester's AO Arena, begins with Foden appearing to be goaded following City's 3-2 defeat to Spurs earlier in the day.

Reacting to the thugs, the footballer's girlfriend Rebecca Cooke turns and shouts: "Who you calling a c***?"

The couple then walk into a private room at the arena following Khan's bloody defeat by Kell Brook.

Foden's mum Claire is then seen walking out and asks the group: "Right, who's calling him?"

One of the men replies: "No one."

Claire says: "Right, then f*** off."

She appears to push out at a man in a black jacket, forcing him back several steps, before the attacker steps in and takes a swing at her.

It's not clear if the blow connects, but the 41-year-old reels back and a man in a black baseball hat steps in and punches out in her defence.

Rebecca can be heard screaming: "Claire."

A brawl breaks out, with around seven people scrapping in the corridor.

The man in the baseball cap grabs a fire extinguisher from the wall, lunging towards the blond man.

It appears as if he tries to smash him over the back of the head as he walks away.

The brawler in the hat then lunges out with the appliance twice more before the clip abruptly ends.

England ace Foden, who wears a blue hoodie and jeans, is seen briefly as he tries to defend his mum.

He plays no further role in the fight and doesn't throw a punch.

Rebecca also stands away from the fighting.

Police probe

Greater Manchester Police said: "GMP are aware of a video circulating on social media showing a disturbance at the AO arena last night.

"We are conducting some further enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident."

Man City bosses released a statement telling of their "shock" - and say they'll back Foden and his family.

“The club is aware of a video which has circulated on social media showing Phil Foden and his family being harassed and abused," officials said.

"We are shocked and appalled about the nature of the abuse and ensuing assault on one of Phil’s family members.

"We will continue to give Phil and his family all the support and assistance they need."

The Sun has approached Foden and his representatives for comment.

Foden's partner Rebecca Cooke, with whom he shares two children, was also involved in the fracas - although did not use violence

Leeds are absolute wussies

what a pointless team. Should just go back to the championship where they belong

knew this would get ugly but did not expect the suckers to roll over this early

What a gift to Pool. Salad probably had his head in the plane after 5mins

Remember when we were comfortably ahead of Liverpool? Remember when we looked superior to them with 11 men and held them with 10?

It’s so fucking gutting that injuries completely killed our chance at contending with the top 2. Would we have enough attacking firepower even with James and Chilly the whole season to win the title ahead of those two? Probably not. But we could’ve at least made it respectable. Seeing a Liverpool side who we made look average (and who were average to start the season) likely finish a country mile ahead of us is so annoying.

We win our game in hand its only 7 points tbf, which is impressive considering the circumstances.

We saw how Liverpool utterly collapsed when VVD and Gomez were out for the season. Think if we finish off the season still in that range it can be something to hopefully build on. Or we just take further steps backwards and make a team around Lukaku.

That's the annoying thing. You look at it..we've lost one game less then they have and drawn 2 more games...with a huge difference in goal difference but still.

Stupid draws cost us..crappy performances cost us. Like you say we probably couldn't have kept it up anyway especially as they mostly score for fun but still..frustrating!

Still as it stands..10 points behind/13 from top isn't as bad as recent seasons. Then again it isn't over yet so could be more I guess by the end.

Wasn't just Chilwell's injury. Shoehorning Lukaku after the Juventus game was the nail in the coffin.

Had Chilwell and James been fine, along with Tuchel using Lukaku sparingly, I think we'd still be roughly 5-7 points adrift, but the G/D would be far, far better.

I see Spuds have completely broken Conte. Explosive and damning post match comments from him.

Most people questioned from the start why on Earth he would want to go there. A club of perennial losers with a chairman who notoriously doesn’t help his managers. A serial winner and highly demanding manager like Conte who is at his peak (unlike Mou when he was there) was crazy for choosing to go there.

Conte should’ve waited until this coming summer. Could’ve perhaps had the PSG job or something.

notice that the ONLY team Kane played like normal and didn't semi down tools against is Citeh, his dream destination (along with Real and Barca)

Levy deserves the misery
