Genuine question to the Utd fan

If Rooney plays tonight, even though its a testimonial, you think the boos will be deafening for him.

I honestly can't call it.

If you look at it from Rooney's perspective, he's given the club nine years of good football. He's played all over the team without a single word to the press and such. He sacrificed his personal development in some cases, for the good of the team. It's hard to disregard all his hard work. Even people like me who were seething about his "lack of ambition" comment have to recognise that he's done far more good than bad for us. I don't mind him staying, I'll support him when he plays, but I still won't forget what he said and done.

I just don't understand so many things about this. We need Rooney to actually say something. Perhaps after the game, an interview is when it happens.

He hasn't done anything yet, that there is no coming back from.

As for Demba Ba, has he really had a fair crack? I don't remember him starting too many games consecutively. He was brilliant for Newcastle yet suddenly forgets how to shoot for Chelsea? Something weird going on there. I don't think it's fair to say he's not good enough until he gets an actual run in the team. He's a good player.

Torres is so weird though - I don't trust him.

Anyway, striker is a very important position so I understand why you'd want a proven talent at your disposal.

I agree that Ba is a decent player but would you say he's good enough to lead the line for a team that hopes to challenge for the title? You have Van Persie and City have Agüero, just to put things into perspective. If the answer is no, then I really don't see much of a role for him in the team because we have Lukaku too. He will probably stay and fight for the place with Lukaku but I can see him moving on next year at the latest. He came into the side at a bad time when we desperately needed a stopgap striker to help us qualify for the Champions League but now Romelu is back, we have a new manager and might even have another striker coming in before the window closes. Kind of a shame because he really seems like a nice guy and is actually a pretty good player too but like I said, not good enough to lead us to trophies and not worth risking Lukaku's development either.

I agree with a lot of what you said apart from de bruyne/Oscar, van ginkel and essien to play against big sides. Surely lampard-Ramires would be best to play against big sides as they are experienced in big games and Ramires is a big game player no doubt.

Also we would want the likes of de Bruyne Oscar etc against the sides who park the bus as they can split open the defence with their excellent through balls, a quality which Ramires doesn't posses. Ramires is best used in a counter attacking set up, which will probably be played against the big sides.

Just my opinion I could be wrong

I thought oscar was a creative force but he's not. He's a box to box guy that has potential to turn into the next lampard. Oscar is a shoot first guy, he has as much creativity has Ramirez and Lampard.

Dont know why the club hasnt gone for Luis Suarez, he is cheaper overally considering his wages are way lower than Rooney's and im sure we can get him for abt 44million, he is younger too and more hungry to win than Rooney IMO
