He kinda bites K-os's style (he'll never 'make' it anyway unfortunately), but he's pretty good. Him, Kendrick Lamar, Travi$ Scott, Los etc. will be the biggest things in Hip-Hop in 5-10 years with the likes of J.Cole etc. being in Jay-Z's position as a 'don'. I think I'm excited for the future of rap... but my heart will always lay with the indie artists regardless.

Oh and of course XV will be biiiig.

Here's a mix of his 'commercial' songs, 'personal' songs and 'real' (i guess) songs.

(Some of his shit sounds basic, but if you listen to those basic lines, they turn into the most complex shit you've heard in a while. Listen to just the first line of the first verse of the first song I post. I didn't get it until I listened a few times):

It's a solid album in it's entirety, can't wait for part 2.

Yeah, defo. Really like the various "styles" he's making use of, I would even go that far and say it's one of the best Hip Hop albums I've heard in the last couple of years. Very impressive album.

I actually agree with him on some of the beats, Lupe definitely needs to work more with Soundtrakk, there is a reason 'Strange Fruition' is the standout in regards to the production.

Soundtrakk is the genius producer behind 'Superstar', 'Emperor's Soundtracks', 'Hip Hop Saved My Life', 'Dumb It Down' & 'Free Chilly', etc..

Yeah, brought it today and I am very happy with it. What did you think of Good Music?

Cruel Summer reminded me of a DJ Khaled album with the overblown hooks, electronic/unoriginal beats (for the most part) which won't age well. I'd heard most of the album already, half the tracks were released/leaked well before the release.

Good Kid, M.A.A.D City is going to be the album of the year decade.

Heard some samples of the tracks the other day, it's completely different from Section.80, but in a good way! Dre's influence is evident and it's exactly what K.Dot needed to get him to the next level. Bravo Kendrick, bravo for not going down the J. Cole road..

Dr. Dre is so massively overrated.

Maybe as a rapper, in which he isn't even rated highly among the rapping Gods when regarding skill in terms of content, structure and delivery. Having said that he dropped some heavy verses in his early rap career and certainly dropped nice verses on the Dre 2001 album, which for me goes down in history as one of the best Hip Hop albums of all time. He has lost his way with rapping and the verse he dropped on his collaboration with Eminem - 'I need a doctor', was kind of awkward to listen to but that is just my personal opinion.

When regarding his contribution to the Hip Hop scene, Dre certainly isn't overrated. He is one of the biggest producers of all time. He was the co-owner of Death Row records and the founder of Aftermath entertainment, two of the biggest record labels to have ever produced in Hip Hop. He signed both Eminem and 50 cent who have gone on to have colossus careers in Hip Hop. Dre has also produced and rapped alongside Snoop Dogg and 2pac throughout the 90's and many more great artists. Need i mention his involvement in NWA, the iconic gangster rap group that stormed the charts in the late 80's early 90's. His CV is unrivaled when analyzing his contribution to the growth and longevity of Hip Hop from the late 80's to date.

I have only highlighted some of what Dre has done as I would probably run out of characters and space to list all of what he has offered to Hip Hop and to say Dr Dre is overrated is an insult to Hip Hop itself.
