SinineUltra 1,170
He didn't went through a football academy, he was a worker on a building site in his teenage years. That explains why his game isn't scholar. But that doesn't means he's a drag though, the stuff about his passing game is very overrated. That has its positive things aswell, he is less predictable than academy scholars who have this typical academy's way of play stamped all over them, making them a bit more disciplined but less unpredictable. Term-X 7,891
Thinking back to THAT Ramires goal at the Nou Camp. Like the Andrea Pirlo penalty against England at the Euro’s, it was a psychological turning point. Barca 2-0 up, 45mins in.. preparing for half time, everything going as planned. And all of a sudden an exquisitely composed world class finish from Ramires, set up by a team with 10 men on the pitch. Making it an almost 'troll' like moment ala Pirlo's nonchalant penalty kick, which was completely against the formality & flow of the moment. Think of the mind frame of the England players after witnessing Pirlo’s troll penalty, it was almost like whatever happened next in the shootout was never going to live up to that. Blu4Lyf 46
I love that people are using his completion % to defend his solid passing. How many times a game does he pass it back to one of the defenders? It's when we're trying to go forward a bit and inching into their third is when he clearly shows an inefficiency to pass it. It's clear as day and it's one of the things holding him back from being world class.
Rubber bullets 1,183
Looked completely loss today.Managed to put some tackles in(could have easily been sent off) but he never seems to be that speed demon who would make us from defense to attack in a nanosecond. The only place to be 11,313
Great finish and a decent game today, but I really don't think he has much of a future on the right-wing and I've had reservations about him playing in midfield for a while. Not quite sure where he fits in the next 12-18 months.

CHOULO19 24,332
To come up with a finish of that quality at the amazing speed he was running at is just unreal. Can't think of any other player who is capable of that.

Too good to be on the bench. The odd games yes but most times should Ramires start? Yes. The amount of times he has popped up like Lampard and done something special. Even against Arsenal this season where he played CM was the MOTM. It is good that we can have a player whose best position is in the CM but can put in brilliant shifts on the wing. He's great in the games like Arsenal where we're playing with our backs to the wall (as in the second-half), but really we should be controlling the tempo of games better than that and I don't know if he's the man for it. Zone 290
Ramires is so ruthlessly clinical at times.
LDN Blue 7,903
Love Ramires, definitely a fan's favourite, but definitely presents a problem of where to play him. He's definitely not a right-winger, but neither is a defensive midfield player. So where can he be deployed? Safe choice would be with Mikel, but with the scoring form Lampard's gone, it's unlikely he'll be dropped for Rami.

The only place to be 11,313
Not good enough for us. The day he's sold will be the day we accept that we need skilful players in midfield who can comfortably handle possession of the ball. There are times when he struggles with the absolute basics. Peace.

DH1988 1,348
He's so rushed on the ball, I get that his 'drive' is good but he just takes away that position I'd prefer to an have an accomplished passer in.Wouldn't mind if he was clinical like lampard for the amount of chances or shots he has.Like a post a while back he was our best CM against arsenal for 45 minutes. Then arsenal took over. The only place to be
Special Juan 28,141
Ramires offers two things; Stamina and pace, the rest of the things he just doesn't have in his locker. For me we lack a ball rotator in midfield like a Modric type player who will sit, collect and keep the ball with the ability of a defence splitting pass. Ramires seems to have the Torres bug when the ball is at his feet, it can bounce off him at any angle and he isn't quite sure where he is at times. We need someone with more ability to play with Mikel who can dictate play centrally.
