laeth 527
I dont know what else Robbie has to do to guarantee the chelsea job. He has been amazing for us.Finish in the top four and win the FA Cup.
Chelsea Legend 11 4,062
Hey fellas! Long time Chelsea fan but first time poster here. Just want to say Robbie has done a brilliant job thus far and has earned the right to have his name mentioned as a permanent manager. I for one think it will be very difficult for him to get it but I say he's a no doubter if he can somehow win the Champions League this year. Anything short of that (top 4, FA Cup) and I think he gets a nice fat cheque from Roman and possibly an advisor role with the club. I really like Robbie but just not sure he's a big enough personality to attract the right kind of players to the club

Naked Mole Rat 437
Di Matteo is a very smart and brave manager, and we should keep him. Maybe he's got this attitude that he's got nothing to lose, but I think he's done the right thing to take a gamble today by fielding our usual second-stringers and focus on the match at Camp Nou. Managers don't like to take that sort of risk, but Di Matteo realized that we'd have a better shot at winning the CL than clinching the 4th spot in the league. Also, he fully trusts his players, and they respect him for that, and that was something Scolari or Villas-Boas lacked. Tactically, I don't think he's worked any miracle like some people say he has, but he's been very flexible with his approach, he isn't trying to force the team to play the game his way, and he's kept things simple. Even if he doesn't win anything this season he deserves that job.

Liquidator 5,176
he deserves a lot of respect today for making the big call of putting Bertrand in. It payed off because he was man of the match and I'm 100% sure that AVB would have put Bosingwa at right back for this game. RdM has put faith in bertrand and it is working

warnie_666 1,081
Roberto has really surprised me to be honest. At first I thought it is the players reaction to change just like it happened in case of Kenny Dalglish when he took over from Roy Hodson. But it seems like Dimatteo has to take alot of credit for this change too.His squad rotation is superb. Most people were expecting two different teams for FA CUP and Barca Semi Finals but he surprised everyone by playing almost the same team. His tactics against Barcelona were superb. I have to admit that with the change of managers we have had a change of luck too. And I would definately take a lucky manager over an unlucky one.Against Arsenal he didnt go gung ho. He hasnt panicked, he seems happy with the draw and confident enough to beat Newcastle. His major change has been putting Ramirez on the wing and it has been a successful tactic. His change from 4-3-3 to 4-2-3-1 has been exceptional.
Igi26 346
After the 2-1 win vs Benfica. Not true. It was 1st leg in Lisbon. Look at the seats in backround.
Cosmin 2,484
Not only his results are great, but he's a really charismatic guy and he's a Chelsea legend.Today he proved that he is confident and knows what he's doing.Left - Arsenal; Right - ChelseaThey are pretty good home and he took a big risk by playing with the reserves. And we didn't play bad at all!The lads seem to like him, the fans seem to like him, so I guess he deserves some credit from Roman too! diskoviolente 425
Whatever happens at the end and after the season, he deserves a lot or respect. If he gets the job or not, hopefully the board treats him with all the respect he deserves. He maybe not the radical and adventorous manager, but he is brilliant at what he does; playing the team to it´s strengths, setting them up alright and is doing stuff that makes sense: playing Bertrand at left back and not Bosingwa when cover is needed. Just one example. Only minor criticism today was that he didn´t use the subs before. But other than that i am very happy how he got us out of the mess we were in before. ZanSnake 1,211
Well AVB was brought in because of his attractive football, i am guessing and most likely Roman still envisions a more attractive and attacking Chelsea football brand in the future. Is RDM one to bring in attractive football to Chelsea?I don't think so.He is making the most out of what has been given to him, and results have been good and we are solid on the way of making this shit season, into something grand! strong centreback 157
Robbie had the dons and west brom from playing some tidy footy during his time there, give him a pre season and a transfer window then lets see what he can do, I personally would be very happy with him staying in charge not only because I'm happy with a chelsea man in charge who actually sees this as his dream job, and he is doing a very good turn under some difficult conditions, but also in the back of my mind is because I can't see any other top coaches out there that would realistically come to us, the only person that is making noise about wanting the job is the fat spanish waiter and I don't want that cunt anywhere near our dugout. Laylabelle 9,535
Even if he doesnt get manager hope he least gets assistant manager cause otherwise new management team...no doubt end up with the same problems on who to keep and let go cause they wont know..least he can offer advise from his experince with us...I hope he gets some reconsation at least!! And if he does become manager I just hope he doesnt end up being treated like crap from the board and fans when things start going a bit wrong... Justin_3d 1,140
Yeah even though I want Moyes or Bielsa, I would not be mad if RDM continues. He has done good, but we need to see how he holds for one full season.I def. like that he has been giving time to Ryan, it's a start compare to other so call "top" managers.I always wanted a manager that will gamble with youth!
