I read a text by Vince quoting Matt Law, and it said that the board preferred not to fight for the title yet, but to first try to build a group of players to compete in the medium- to long-term.

But is everyone crazy? How long are we going to listen to this excuse? Chelsea finished 3rd under Tuchel. So, we have a 12th-place finish, a 6th-place finish, a 4th-place finish, and we'll most likely miss the top four this season.

The players won't want to wait that long. This is just pulling the wool over the fans' eyes.

I'm sick of this.

I'm okay with this just as long they don't sack Maresca and take responsability for their woeful buys in defense. 

If they keep Maresca and fix the defense next summer then that quote is legit. 

If they sack Maresca after giving him 5 years having sacked Poch and get Di Zerbi then they know nothing.
